  • Ten points for best answer!?

Don't you hate when people ask questions and then say "easy ten points!" or "quick ten points" as if it is some exclusive reward that only they can provide?

Offer me 50 points for best answer, then I'd be impressed.

    Otherwise quick stating the obvious.

  • Wireless router must be reset every other day...?

    It the strangest thing.

My house has 4 computers that connect to the wireless router. The connection is awesome when it works, yet every other day or so ALL the computers will show connected, yet will not go online. Repair connection does not work. It never finishes correctly.

It's easy to fix.... I just have to unplug the router for a second and plug it back in. Then everything is fine for another day or two. IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY.

So far I've changed the router, the cable modem, the wiring between the two, the antenna, used a different outlet.... WHY IS IT DOING THIS????

  • Do dictionaries in England differ from USA?

    I don't mean the definitions.

In England, I'm just wondering if the pronunciation key for a word like "car" actually shows it being pronounced like "cah".

  • NASA and our tax dollars?

I understand that we've done some amazing things in space, but it seems that we are blowing a ton of cash on day-to-day expenses that could be better used elsewhere. Aside from satellites and the Mars landers, what are we gaining by sending missions up all the time? I hear many arguments about the advances that Nasa has brought us, like Velcro for example. Your telling me they needed to be up in space to invent this stuff? No. FUNDING is what brought us these advances NOT being in orbit. Just once I'd like to hear about a mission that ends with a breakthrough, but it never does. Yet every time we go to the ocean floor we discover a new creature! It's time to sort out all of Earth's problems and mysteries before we set our sights on leaving it. Because right now all I think of when I hear about a shuttle launch is "Gee, I hope it doesn't blow up" I wish I could think "Yay! I wonder what they will do up there!" But no one really thinks like that...

  • Salt on bagels?

My wife thinks it's strange that I put salt on my cream-cheese bagel. I thought it was normal.

Does anyone else like salt on their bagel? Or is it weird?

  • Any atheists that have actually READ the Bible?

Don't get me wrong, for the most part I am an atheist as well. Despite my beliefs, I find the Bible to have SOME great historical value filled with timeless morals, yet I see many uneducated answer/comments on here from people who are basing their beliefs on what they HEAR Christanity is about. This goes for any religion, really.

    In other words;

Don't critique the film without watching the movie first.

It makes all of us atheists look ignorant and arrogant.

  • Motivation of FEMALE pro-Taliban and pro-Islamic rule militants?

I have read many articles citing examples of females involved in the Red Mosque siege. I know many were held hostage along with children and some males, but there were examples of female aggression as well. (Abductions and gun violence.)

My question is why would women fight for a Talibani style government when they would only lose many of their freedoms under a hardline Islamic rule?

  • Has anyone had this problem with the fly/zipper on their pants?

I'm talking about the flap thats SUPPOSED to cover the zipper, but it has a crease in it that makes it sit away from the zipper so that it looks like your fly is undone. You can pull it over, but it just folds back away again after a few steps.

Anyone know what to do other than ironing since this doesn't really fix it for long.

I have multiple shorts and jeans that I ordered or were gifted to me that have this problem.

  • Illegal immigration question. Who's responsibility?

Many mention that we don't have the resources to gather up all the illegals and transport them home. My question is:

Why should this be OUR responsibility?

Since Mexicans encompass a large majority of the illegal immigrant population, I'll use them as an example.

If we had detention centers throughout the U.S., say one per tri-state area, we could round them up and then make Mexico come and bus them home. They are MEXICAN CRIMINALS so why should WE front all the cost and effort?

The same would go for Cuba or Korea or wherever the heck. Let THEM ship 'em home.

Once they share some of the cost for a while, I bet they would HELP us build those fences around the border.

  • Gas Planets?

If atmospheres are made of gases, then how does one determine the size of a gas planet? Isn't Earth's surface used to measure it's size? Then what about Jupitor?

Furthermore, pressure and temperature aside, could one fly a ship straight through a gas planet?

  • Flamboyant Gays?

Queston 1: When do certain gay men START to lisp? It shouldn't be from birth, because schools have speech classes for that, and furthermore gay women never do it, so it can't be genetic.

I can't see it starting in the teen years, because I know most fathers would slap their sons silly if they just came home one day and started prancing and such. Which means they must pick this up as a chosen habit later in life.

Which brings us to question 2: Why act this way? Being effeminant seems to counter the whole gay philosophy. Your a gay man trying to attract other gay men. So why act like a woman???? That's what STRAIGHT men want.

So your a wanna-be-a woman trying to attract another wanna-be-a woman. Which means your a wanna-be-a lesbian.

BTW: Yes I know I'm stereotyping, but I have seen this behavior for my own eyes, even in a regular working environment, so I'm not just judging by what I see on TV.

  • When showering, do you typically face towards the shower head or away from it?

I've seen this question posed before and people tend to answer by explaining the whole process. I KNOW that sometimes you NEED to face the shower to do certain things. I talking about the rest of the time. When you are just standing or daydreaming. Which is your default standing position? Towards the shower head or away?

  • Interesting Jewish-Target incident. Help interpret?

In my everlasting quest to understand religion, here's what I saw at Target (store) yesterday:

At 7:45pm I was parked in front of the store, waiting for my wife to come out.

Suddenly, a Jewish man (black suit, sideburns, beard and cap, yarmulke I think it's called.?) quickly walked out of the store, placed his shopping bag down, and turned to face the store front (wall).

He was very close to the wall, even going as far as to touch it with one palm at times. His hands were always out in front of him like when praying and his lips were moving although I could hear nothing.

After about 5 minutes of this, his wife (I guess) came out of the store, interrupted his praying for a moment, put her bags down and then went back into the store.

The man continued his praying for another 5 minutes.

Finally he finished, and get this,... he turned back around to face the parking lot again AND SMOKED A CIGARETTE as if satisfied following a good roll-in-the-hay.

Can someone decipher this to me?

  • Energy conservation idea. What do you think?

What if we tried "shaming" people into saving energy. The energy companies could list, by address, the top 20 heavy-usage residential consumers in every neighborhood. People could see this by logging in online, or by looking at their monthly bill.

So then, people would be more energy-aware and try to do whatever they could to reduce usage and get off the top of the list!

  • How are supermarkets able to make so many store-brand items?

Have you ever noticed that supermarkets have a store-name copycat of EVERTYTHING that they sell?

You can buy Kellog's "Pop-Tarts" or Shop-Rite "Toaster Pops".

You can buy JIFFY peanut butter or Foodtown peanut spread.

You can buy Heinz Catsup or Stop n' Shop ketchup.

    See what I mean?

    So here's my questions:

One) How can supermarkets make EVERYTHING, when name-brands can only make a few things? In other words, where are they hiding all the Foodtown factories? There should be dozens of them all over the place to make all the different products.

Two) If supermarkets can produce so many things, why not open stores that JUST sell their own items instead of giving the customer a choice? Wouldn't this mean 100% profit on their part?

Anyone know how this stuff works?

  • Close your eyes during masturbation climax?

While masterbating, do you close your eyes when climax occurs? Even if you are looking at visual-aids until the end?

I've asked around and it appears that guys seem to close their eyes automatically. (Not sure about women. Info please?). It's possible to force your eyes open, but it seems to make it less enjoyable. Maybe related to the sneezing effect...

    Any thoughts?

  • Reverse discrimination?

Some black folk tend to believe that the white man "owes" them something or should feel shamed over equal rights and slavery.

    Question:

Does anyone know (with references) what percentage of the white community is an actual descendant of a slave owner in America?

For example, my great grandparents settled here in 1915. Long after slave ownership was abolished.

I can't find anywhere that would give me this information. Census ect.
