  • Would anything significant change if we wiped out mosquitos?

Would anything really change if we wiped out mosquitos? Do they have any functional role in the world that can't be fulfilled by other insects?

We could breed moths for bat food, and introduce other water bugs, like dragonfly larvae, to be fish and tadpole food on the place if mosquito larvae.

Masonic street plan, what traffic signals do I use at 6-way intersection?

I work in Sandusky, OH, where city planners created a masonic symbol in the street plans streets. Driving to work I go through a 6-way intersection. I am a new driver and this is confusing, I never know where people are going.

I am coming from inverse diagonal-right (as in, southeast) I can go straight (N), left (W), right (E), diagonal left (NW), diagonal right (NE).

In the picture, it is the crossing of Elm, Madison, and Franklin

If I am going diagonal-left; do I signal or not?

  • Should i put a background check in an school job application?

I am applying for a job at a school. Part of the application is to sign a release for them to run a background check. I already have a BCI/FBI background check. Should i include a copy of my background check with the application?

  • Cannot access bbc.co.uk website?

All of a sudden, three days ago bbc.co.uk/radio7 didn't allow me to listen to any content, saying it could not be loaded. Now I cannot access the website at all, or any bbc.co.uk website. Internet Explorer either says it cannot display the page, or the 'connecting' icon spins and nothing comes up at all. Nothing has changed on my computer in this time.

I can't even get to the main website to look at help topics or anything to see what my problem might be. I am in the US, but I have never had this problem before in 5 years of using BBC.

  • When I turn my phone off it always turns itself back on right away?

I have a Samsung r430b cell phone, that is about a year and a half old.

Whenever I turn my phone off, after a second it turns itself back on. Even when it turns off automatically due to low battery, the phone keeps trying to turn itself back on. The only way to turn it off is to take the battery out, which I don't want to have to do.

  • Dell computer sound not working right?

I was listening to an online radio show and on Facebook when I couldn't hear anything. I couldn't hear any sounds on my computer until I turned the volume up all the way; and what I can hear with it all the way up is what I usually can hear on the lowest volume. So, I can barely hear anything without headphones, and then it is still really quiet. This has never happened before.

What happened? How can I fix this so I can actually hear stuff again?

  • Clean my Camelback water bottle lid?

I have a camelback water bottle, not the backpack. It has a flip-up bite valve to drink from. Around and underneath the flip-up bite valve thing I'm starting to see green stuff, that I can't reach with anything to clean it off and make it sanitary again.

I have been using this bottle constantly for about 4 months. I have cleaned the bottle itself out, but can't figure out how to get in the crevasses of the lid.

How can I clean and de-nasty the lid, while leaving it safe to drink out of and not ruining it?

  • Spraying apple and peach tree- when and how?

I have a peach tree, and two apple trees in my backyard, I live in Ohio. The trees are 5-10 years old, not sure exactly how old. Every year some sort of bugs get in and ruin the fruit. THe aples are stunted and don't grow all the way for insect infestation, and half the peaches are ruined. I know about thinning the peaches.

I want to know when should I spray my trees, and with what, to prevent the insects and get a decent fruit crop this year.
