Laptop screen freaks out randomly then locks?
Hi, sometimes my laptop screen freaks out. I have an HP Spectre and sometimes, when I move around my laptop while it's open, the screen will flash black several times rapidly before locking me out so that I have to sign in again. It's more of an annoyance than anything, but I was wondering if there was a way to fix it/if other people with similar laptops had a similar issue?
2 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks2 months agoWhat would happen if a broken ankle never recieved medical attention?
Say someone broke a bone and never recieved medical attention for it. I read online that there were things like bone infections and malunions, but what about gangrene? Is it possible for the limb or section around the bone to start rotting? What's the worse case scenario for something like this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
2 AnswersInjuries8 months agoWhat's the legality of a flower pot falling off a balcony and hitting someone?
Okay, so say there's a balcony in a busy city and a flower pot or something similar falls off and hits someone on the head, either injuring or, with enough height, killing that person. What charges can be pressed against the person who owns the falling object? Are they legally required to financially compensate that other person? Could they go to prison for charges like manslaughter?
This is all hypothetical of course. I definitely did not drop a flower pot on my nasty neighbor's head because he's the worst.
9 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 year agoCan criminals keep the money they make through illegal means after they're arrested?
Like, mafia. Can they keep the money they make off racketeering if they go to prison? Or can a black market dealer keep the money they make from the profits of their sales? I assume that people who like, rob banks or people can't keep that money though, rightfully. But the money that's not outright stolen, can criminals keep it?
Thanks for any help.
7 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 year agoCan people in Japan watch the sunset while people in the United States watch the sunrise?
I didn't sleep tonight at all, and as I watched the sunrise outside my window I realized that an entire day had passed for everyone else in the world while I sat in my bedroom, hunched over a laptop and doing homework. And, as I watched the sunrise, likely alongside a million and a half early birds or severe night owls, I wondered if there were people across the oceans watching the very same sun I was looking at dip below the horizon.
Online research wasn't very lucrative. I looked up sunrise and sunset times for various locations across the globe but soon came to the realization that sleep deprivation was scrambling my brain, and the questions I plugged into google weren't very forthcoming. I'm hoping someone here can help me out?
If it's true, then I think that it's a very nice thing. Despite all the differences in the world, good and bad, we can all be connected by the giant flaming ball of gas hovering ninety-three million miles away which, if we were placed any closer to, would apathetically burn us all to a crisp.
9 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 year agoHow do I show the ghost(s) haunting my house that I respect them?
There's a ghost haunting my place, and that's chill with me. I just want to make sure that they're comfortable with what I've got going on. Should I try to leave open means of communication? Try to talk to them? Give some sort of offering? I keep on thinking about how my grandmother would leave out a bowl of milk for the faeries. Is there a ghost equivalent?
I do NOT care about exorcising the ghost. We're buds.
