  • Can't Remember Title of Book?

I am having trouble remember the title of a fantasy book I read a couple of years ago. I remember that the title is the name of the main character and it starts with an M.

The plot involves a female assigned character who presents as a guy as part of their quest to get revenge on the person who took their best friend (because the friend was a bastard that they wanted to put in line of inheritance). The character is taken in and trained by this creepy old man and has a romance plot with the butler who initially thinks the character is a cis guy. The character has a faked execution because their old friend frames them for murder of the royal family's kids (because the friend wants to move up in the line of inheritance). The character ends up with the butler and they said across the sea together.

There's a subplot about the goddess of vengeance to whom the main character swears and oath and who destroyed part of the city before.

Also the character uses a poison to make their voice sound rougher so that people take them as a guy more easily, if that helps?

  • Spider prey wrapped in web. Term?

Is there a term for a spider's prey that is wrapped up in spider silk? You know, to be digested/eaten later?

My mother says it is a cocoon and my niece says it is not. I said I didn't know if you could use that term or not.

  • Christians, who do you dislike more, Satanists or Atheists?

Someone tried to pull a 'as a satanist, I know more about being disliked in religious discussions than anyone' today. I did not mention that I was an atheist (the topic of the discussion wasn't really relevant to her comment), but it got me thinking, who do Christians dislike more-atheists or satanists?

  • Switching medicaid while in college-moving states?

I am attending a state university in NY for grad school, which means that becoming a NY resident would save me about 9,000 dollars a year. However, I have medicaid from PA and need medical procedures done and I have to take a medicine daily or risk death. My past strategy (undergrad) has been to keep my PA medicaid, have my mom mail my prescriptions, and get other procedures (tests, specialist appointments, etc.) done during breaks back in PA. However, now that I live off campus and want NY residency, this could complicate things. I rely on my loans and my family for support and I absolutely could not afford just survival medication without medicaid, but I am also at the point of telling doctors that I won't be getting a test done because I can't afford the credit risk for my loans if medicaid refused to cover it out of state.

I really need advice about what to do. Suck up an extra $9,000 in loan dept and risk my health from procedure delays? Risk lapse in coverage and loosing the medicine I need to survive if I try to switch?

  • Selling old barn wood?

I'm looking for some references about what would be a fair price for selling an old barn for salvage. The barn is very old. It was there when my grandparents bought the farm as newlyweds, though it is most likely much older than that. The beams cross the entire thing, they are cut from single trees and some of the longer ones are probably close to forty or fifty feet long. They do not have nails, they have the old pegs holding them together. The siding of the barn is newer, and not in good shape. There might be some water damage to some of the beams. The barn is located in southern PA.

  • I can't go to one specific website?

My internet is working, so that's not the problem. I can go to every site except one and I know that one's not down because I had friends get on it and they had no problem. I don't have any parental blockers or anything on my internet, and I ran all of my virus and spyware checkers and haven't had any other issues. Anyone know what my problem might be?

  • Sci-fi/fantasy show recommendations?

I'm currently watching SGU and Supernatural.

    I have seen:

    Torchwood

    Firefly

    Dark Angel

    SG1

    Stargate Atlantis

Battlestar Galactica (this one got a bit preachy for my taste)

I tried but did not like:

Eureka and Warehouse 13 (if you have to be cheezy with bad acting, I want a male lead who is better looking)

  • New anime suggestion?

I need a new anime to watch, I up for suggestions. I'm in more of a ridiculous funny anime mood than a dark serious one, more sayonora zentsubou sensei than death note. I've also already seen Durarara, Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, Gravitation, Sukisyo, Samurai Champloo, Genshiken, Wallflower, and probably some others I am forgetting right now. Any suggestions?

  • Good ways to look for accessible housing?

I am planning on going to law school in the fall (everything taken care of, still awaiting a few responses), but, all of the law schools that have accepted me are too far away for me to tour the area when looking for housing. I have mobility issues that make stairs difficult, several flights impossible. What would be good things to ask/look for when dealing with a rental agency when I cannot tour ahead of time?

  • Free cursors without spyware?

I think it would be neat to have some animated cursors or something, but I've heard that a lot of them have spyware. Does anyone have a recommendation for a site that does not have spyware and has good cursors?

  • Trans men (or other people who have taken testosterone with PCOS?

I have PCOS and take a high dosage estrogen containing birth control pill daily to help regulate symptoms. It does help with some symptoms, but it has also had issues with making my breasts grow (Over the past two years, I lost 100 lbs and gained two full cup sizes). I am genderqueer and would not mind being more masculine presenting, though I do not plan to identify as male. If I switched from taking estrogen and took enough testosterone to up my level to a male level (which would be much less than most people would have to take), how would that affect my PCOS symptoms? My testosterone now is higher than what is considered 'normal' female range. Does anyone know how this would affect me? Has anyone here with PCOS transitioned or took testosterone?

  • MP3 player+downloading site recomendations?

My old MP3 player is worn out and has started to malfunction (it's over three years old, so no warranty and fixing would probably cost more than buying a new one). I'm looking into buying a new one and also into finding a new downloading site (preferably legal). Price is important to me, so the cheaper the options, the better. Also, I use a PC and have some of my older music stored in my media player, so I would like a MP3 player that works well with windows and older formats. What do you recommend?

  • Good small dog for apartment?

I'm going to law school next year and plan to get my own apartment. I want to get a dog, a small one since I will be living in a small apartment. I have physical problems, so a dog with low exercise needs (two or three fifteen minute walks a day plus some indoor play) would be good. I do not like the way a lot of small dogs are very yappy (my mother has a miniature Schnauzer and its constant yapping is a bit annoying). I do not mind grooming and have done daily brushing for a shedding chow mix (my mother's), but a long haired dog is not a need I have. I also know how to shave a dog whose hair does not shed. Short or long haired is good. I grew up with dogs and have experience with training and care, though mostly with bigger dogs.

  • Law schools that are gay friendly and accessible for disabilities?

I'm a college senior and I'm planning on going to law school. I took my LSATs but have not got my scores back yet. I'm queer and I have physical issues to the point where I cannot go up a flight of stairs on a bad day. Does anyone have recommendations for law schools that are both queer friendly and accessible?

  • Playing Asian games on PS3?

I know that with PS2 games, if you bought the actual Japanese version, there were often issues with compatibility. Is this true of the PS3? If I buy a game only designed for the Asian market, will I be able to use it one my US bought PS3?

  • Good butch haircut for curly hair?

I want to shorten my hair a lot, but I'm a fat women with a chubby face and my hair is naturally very curly (and it gets pretty puffy too). I'm worried that if I cut my hair really short, I'll end up with Orphan Annie hair. Any suggestions?

  • Is it worth seeking screening for Aspergers as an adult?

My sister suggested that I get checked for Aspergers Syndrome. I have always had a hard time reading facial expression, relating to other people in real life situations, and telling people apart from one another (even people I know well). A big change in hairstyle can make me have trouble identifying someone I have known casually for years. As a child, I liked to be in small tight spaces (only alone, never with others) and used to bash my head on the wall or rock to relieve stress or boredom. I did not look at people's faces until I was twelve. Over the years, I have become more comfortable with being touched (sitting beside someone on a bus and not being able to escape any touch is no longer an extremely stressful event) and have gotten to the point where I can talk comfortably on the phone most days. I am told that these things coupled with my high IQ might suggest Aspergers. But, even if I do have it, what good will a diagnosis at this point (age 20) really do? I was wondering if an adult diagnosis of Aspergers would really make much difference in my life at this point.
