Single mom of 4, so yes I can multi-task! I enjoy the little things- a good song, sunshine on a winter day, mail that doesn't contain a bill! I get angry and frustrated, feel overwhelmed and work hard at keeping a good attitude. Being on YA brings me enjoyment, and reminds me there are many other people out there searching for answers- big and little ones!
In Illinois, is driving down the street where the petitioner lives considered violating an order of protection?
My family member has a plenary order of protection filed against him by his wife (soon to be ex) for alleged domestic violence (pushed her away when she tried to shove him down the stairs after surgery). It is a War of the Roses kind of divorce. He drove down the street where his house is to see if his 19 year old was having a beer bash (she has rights to the home and children live with her during the 1 year supervision), did not stop the car but simply passed by and she is having him arrested for breaking the order. I have read the entire order and no where does it say he cannot be on the street. We are confused and don't know why this is happening... he does not drive down the street daily, has not contacted her in any form except through 3rd party about children so the question is, what can happen? He has to turn himself in when he gets back to town and will have a bond hearing....but he didn't do anything wrong! how much will the bond be, and can he go to jail for this stupid reason? Help!
1 AnswerLaw Enforcement & Police9 years agoHelp me help my family! What are the penalties for not filing business or personal taxes for going on 3 years?
A family member owns his own business but has combined and meshed his personal finances with his business finances and not filed taxes for either one in going on 3 years. He thinks once he files he will get money back for child credits and such but I thought you can't get money back if you haven't paid any to start with. Obviously there are a great many details I am not going into for lack of space and boredom factor but am looking for basic guidance. He is broke and about to lose his house in foreclosure so any advice is welcome. Thanks for taking the time!
4 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoHow to best help a compulsive Hoarder?
I am currently donating time to a lovely lady that has had some severe health issues but has had issues with hoarding. Her home is cluttered to the point she cannot use the rooms as they should be used. We have made good progress but it is so slow going.....and I am afraid she will slip back into the behaviour again as soon as we free up space.
She refuses therapy, and says she is committed to getting rid of stuff so she will be fine....but this is the 3rd time in her life she has reached this point. I don't want to make this worse or say the wrong thing so need advice on how best to help. She is in charge of what we keep, what is donated and what she wants to try to sell. We have a time constraint though because winter is coming and her heat elements are blocked. And she is not working on this at all on her own, only when myself and her caregiver are present which is 4 hours once a week.
Any advice is appreciated.

4 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoPoll: What would you include in a "Daily Living" college course?
If it was a requirement to pass, just like Public Speaking and The Constitution- what should it contain?
I am thinking that it should be several semesters and include:
Basic auto maintanence
Basic home maintanence
Budgeting/Finance
What additions would you make?
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoPoll: Have you heard these Irish blessings?
They are a little different than the traditional, popular one!
A Happy St Patrick's Day to you and yours!
A Wish for a Friend
Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers—
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours—
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!
Or another favorite:
An Old Irish Blessing
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhy can pets be better than children?
To be posted VERY LOW on the refrigerator door - nose height.
Dear Dogs and Cats:
The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The
other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw
print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it
becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing
in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack.
Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help
because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry
about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to
ensure your comfort. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when
they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other
stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that
sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out the other
end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If
by some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it
is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, and try to turn the knob or get
your paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit
through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom
for years -- canine or feline attendance is not required.
The proper order is kiss me, then go smell the other dog or cat's
butt. I cannot stress this enough!
To pacify you, my dear pets, I have posted the following message on
our front door:
To All Non-Pet Owners Who Visit & Like to Complain About Our Pets:
1. They live here. You don't.
2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the
furniture. (That's why they call it 'fur'nature.)
3. I like my pets a lot better than I like most people.
4. To you, it's an animal. To me, he/she is an adopted son/daughter
who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly.
Remember: In many ways, dogs and cats are better than kids because they:
1. Eat less
2. Don't ask for money all the time
3. Are easier to train
4. Normally come when called (well, OK, the cat thinks about it)
5. Never ask to drive the car
6. Don't hang out with drug-using friends
7. Don't smoke or drink
8. Don't have to buy the latest fashions
9. Don't want to wear your clothes
10. Don't need a 'gazillion' dollars for college.
And finally,
11. If they get pregnant, you can sell their children.

sent a Christmas Gift to an ex?
I know he has no family and has had a really hard time the last few years but he seems to hold on to any contact I make as if it will lead to a rekindling of a relationship.
I am not thinking of sending anything personal, I know he is short on money and thought cigs and a box of his favorite gingersnaps and a simple Merry Christmas.........but don't want to put the wrong idea out there. Your thoughts?
9 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agoHave you gotten your children required vaccinations?
I am curious as to how the younger generation of parents feel about vaccinating their children against the preventable illnesses.
For example, I deliberately exposed my kids to chicken pox so I would be sure they got them as kids and not later when the immunity wore off. But they received the other shots on schedule.
