So I'm playing the first Bioshock and I am IN LOVE with the art style and whole feel of the game. It's little a bit steampunk, a little bit vintage, a little bit Art Deco and just pure awesome. I even dreamt I was in Rapture. What I want to know is are there any other novels/games/comics/art/films that have a similar style to Bioshock?

I'm looking for the best compression pedal I can find for bass, for under 100 quid - any ideas? The cheaper the better if it's still a good quality pedal

So, I'm sort of a beginner but I'm looking for something with an interesting art style (I'm a big fan of Miyazaki films) and I don't care much for generic looking anime style or superhero comics... I want something a bit different, and arty. I also like noir, and westerns and all sorts of things really... What do you recommend I take a look at?

So... Me and my girlfriend broke up a month ago. We'd been best friends for about two year and I relied on her pretty heavily... We aren't talking now. She's already been with two other guys and she cheated on me, which I'm so angry about...

But obviously I miss her a lot.

That isn't really what this is about though.

Since we broke up I've been trying to surround myself with friends, and that worked for a while because we had a school trip in Italy and spent a week hanging out and talking to everyone which was lovely.

But now I'm back home and I've realised how I'm basically not close to anyone... At all.

There's a bunch of people that are sort of friends, but no one I can talk to about how lonely I am, or how much it hurts seeing her with another guy, or how I feel like I've been replaced already. Every conversation I have with any of my friends are initiated by me. They've all got best friends, and partners...

So where the **** am I meant to go now?

It's ******... It's really ****** and it's my own fault, because I didn't try hard enough to make other friends while I was with her. :/ I need someone. Anyone... I need to let someone else know what's happening inside me, but who? What am I even doing on here, trying to find comfort from strangers?

So I'm planning on wearing some neat steampunk goggles and maybe a top hat for my leavers day at school. What else should I wear with that though? I've got a black trench coat, maybe that? (I'm a guy by the way)

Would I be missing out on much by just playing the second game? Also is there much difference with the graphics, or length of story lines? The first bioshock seems to actually be a bit more expensive and harder to find so shall I just skip it?

My girlfriend of one and a half years broke up with me three weeks ago because she said she didn't want a relationship at the moment. A few days ago she kissed this other guy and now they go out... I have no idea what happened. Does it sound like I did something wrong? They were holding hands and stuff in front of me so I don't think she cares about me at all, or feels guilty because she hasn't apologised or explained herself to me. I also asked her a week ago whether she was starting to like this guy and she got angry with me like I was saying something really stupid... What am I supposed to do? Should I ask her and talk to her or try and forget? Or am I being dumb and is this expected as we've broken up?

I was thinking about buying a cheap lap steel guitar and fitting it with some nice vintage pickups and tuners to make it sound great - all I need is a cheap lap steel that has a decent enough body to use as a base for my project. Any suggestions? Quality of pickups is basically irrelevant and I may replace the bridge

I'm a bassist who's started playing a lot more six-string electric too. I've got a decent little Ibanez 20 watt bass amp that came with my Ibanez bass and I was wondering whether how I would go about using it with a guitar. Or will I just have to buy a little practise amp? I don't wanna spend too much money, but I'd buy a preamp or anything to plug into my bass amp to make it sound better...

What kind of EQ settings should I have? (I have an EQ pedal)

is there anything I should be careful about while using a bass amp with an electric 6-string?
