just along for the ride

im asking this question to atheists. im an artist and a christian asked me this the other day and i had no answer. somehow her reply of "its a god given talent" just doesnt seem to cut it. so if it doesnt come from god, where does it come from?

my mom just bought this scooter ( http://www.megamotormadness.com/product/sco050-50c... ) and it came assembly required. and completely without instructions. i am trying to install the front wheel and am having some difficulty. its a disk brake and i cant get the brake to release so i can place the disk between the pads.

the faucet and connectors are cheap plastic, the water supply tubing is metal. i accidentally cross threaded them and now they will only screw on crooked.

i got the old faucet off just fine, but am having trouble reconnecting the water supply. every time i try to screw it on it starts out fine when i twist it on with my fingers, but as soon as i try to tighten it further with the basin wrench both hot and cold lines screw on very crooked. after a couple of tries i thought maybe it wouldnt cause that much of a problem so after i turned them as far as they would go i turned the valves back on to see and water sprayed everywhere. what am i doing wrong?

so im trying to come up with a design to paint on the hood of my friends dune buggy, but im stumped for ideas. the major problem is that there is this silver cap in the middle of the hood. its about 4 inches across and has small rivets all along the edge. i cant figure out how to incorporate it into the design. do a gypsy and make it her crystal ball? have a pin up girl leaning on it? the owner is kind of a red neck and when i asked him what he wanted he basically said "youre the artist, just go for it" he asked me to paint it after he saw a fake tattoo i had done on his daughter, and i want to go with an old school tattoo theme. i know he likes scooby doo, because he has a stuffed scooby hanging off of the back. the vehicle is solid black with a yellow bumper and bright green hub caps. they said it used to have flames that were the same color as the hub caps, but they didnt like it so they painted it over. any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks.

i knit and crochet, and ive recently taken up bobbin/pillow lace. ive made her scarves and shawls for the last couple of years, and i have some yarn that is her favorite color (that sort of orange/pink that you get around sunset) and some more that's variegated that compliments it, but i dont know what to do with it. suggestions please? by the way im 22 so nothing childish please.

im going river tubing soon and im wondering what options i have for keeping my insulin pump dry while floating? what do y'all do in these watery situations?

and she is looking for suggestions on where to begin. she wants to do lab and possibly field work, but isn't sure who to contact for an internship. i suggested the police dept or the city morgue, but am not sure that's where she should go. what would you suggest is the best path for an aspiring forensics major?

the main character in the book im working on is having a moral dilemma and i don't know how to help her. she killed some minions of this thing that was attacking her and her friend and then she freaked out about it, went into a severe depression and ran off into the jungle and had a conversation with a talking butterfly (its science fiction, if you hadn't already guessed, and the talking butterfly is pretty cool in context. ...and no, i wasn't high when i wrote it) i went on with the story and had her get over it but refuse to kill anybody unless it was absolutely necessary, but now i'm stuck on what the butterfly/alien said that made her come to her senses. i don't really want to go back and write it out, but i don't know how to fix it either.

help? please?

i'm not quite finished with what im writing, but i would like to know how much ive done. i think im at about 30k words.
