  • Are we still responsible for the neighbors cat? Lawyers/Vets/cats?

On Christmas Eve our dog chased the neighbors outside cat and the cat received minor injuries. We immediately escorted the neighbor and his cat to the vet and paid the bill for the visit. We also got rid of our dogs and no longer have them on the premises. On January 6th the neighbor contacted us through text message specifically saying the cat is doing better but "we might want to save up for x-rays just in case." About a week later he returned the cat to the garage it normally stays in so the cat has been outside in below freezing weather since then. Now yesterday we receive another text requesting we pay for x-rays. It is now almost 2 months later and he never presented us with a bill for recommended follow up care, nor did he say he sought any, and has no bill for these x-rays. How do we respond to this and does he have any legal recourse at this point. Also, the cat has been tearing up my outside garbage so I can't say its truly in bad shape. What steps should we take to get this guy to leave us alone. He will not speak to us in person. I think he is trying to keep a log and is waiting for some sort of admission of guilt or promise to pay. We have not responded.

  • How long would a break show up on an x-ray for a cat? Lawyers/Vets/Cat owners?

On Christmas Eve my dog hopped the fence and chased the neighbors cat. We accompanied the neighbor and the cat to the emergency vet the same day and paid the bill in full the following Friday. During the vet visit, we were told the cat had no serious injuries but was prescribed antibiotics and pain killers "just in case". Last night the neighbor texted us saying, that the cat is doing better but we might want to start saving up for x-rays?!?! It is 2 weeks later and we were nothing but nice about the incident. Would a break in a cats leg even show up after 2-3 weeks on an x-ray? I know their bones are different then humans or even dogs. This was/is an outside cat so at this point I don't feel like I should be held responsible for the cats health. At what point would this be legally not my problem?

  • What do you do to your Ramen noodles?

Everyone I know has a little extra something they add to ramen noodles or some secret cooking technique. I like to break them up and toast them in the oven to use them as a crunchy topping. My boyfriend adds an egg during the cooking process for a dish similar to egg drop soup. I have 36 packs and I need some fresh ideas!

  • Is it just me or are most of the atheists on here just as bad as christian zealots?

I'm personally a humanist. I am my own god and I worship myself so don't bother attacking me for believing or not believing. I've just noticed that it seems as though atheists, by my definition of religion (group of people with a similair belief system), are just as bad as attacking people and pushing their beliefs as any other group. If there is no god why even waste your time in a religion section other than to push your own beliefs on others?

  • What are some pantry must haves?

I would like to have a "well-stocked" pantry. I have lots of basic stuff like oils and flour and corn starch and stewed tomatoes and several other basics but I would like to add to that...I want to be able to watch a cooking show and have most of the obscure more trendy items. I am also in a situation where I need to be more frugal and would like to be able to whip up something with things I have on a whim. Any suggestions would be great.

  • What was the most useless item that you thought you absolutely had to have before you had your baby?

Before I had my baby there were tons of things I thought I needed. After I had my son I discovered that half of the stuff was completely useless. For me, the changing table is the winner. My son crawled extremely early and it was just downright dangerous after 4 months. I have a lot of expecting parents in my circle of friends and family and everyone is talking about what they need.

  • What would be more economical for this plumbing repair?

I need a new garbage disposal and I wanted to know if it would be more economical to go and purchase one from somewhere like home depot or have the plumber supply it. I don't want to have my boyfriend or some weird friend install this, although I've heard its not that hard. I would like the peace of mind to know its done right and if its not I can call and complain.

  • How do you feel about smiling servers?

I am a server and I don't walk around with a full smile constantly because I am self-consious of my teeth. I provide excellent service, get refills without having to be asked, you won't see me slacking off in a corner somewhere, I rarely screw up orders and if I do or there is a problem I geniunely care and I know it shows. I am also very polite and I do enjoy chatting with customers that are looking for that (I like to talk to strangers).

How important is a smile in comparision to great service?

If you found a hair in your food would you even want anyone smiling?

Would you generously tip a bad server just because they kept smiling at you?

Do over smiley people come off as fake?

I do understand that a pleasant look goes a long way in the service/sale industry but is it really everything?

  • Can I cook corn bread in a dutch oven Need an answer really fast?

I'm making corn bread stuffing for thanksgiving. I'm using some Jiffy corn bread mix. Recipe calls for an 8 inch pan. I have a 13"x9" cake pan and a smaller glass pan. I also have a Lodge dutch oven with an aproximately 8 inch base. Should I make a double batch of corn bread in the cake pan or could I use the dutch oven without the lid. I don't care what the bread looks like since I'm using it for stuffing I just don't want to burn it. I really don't want a double batch since I'm only cooking for 4 adults and 1 baby.

Also....What do you think about adding dried cranberries to the stuffing?

  • Would it be a terrible idea to give my toddler a cough drop?

He is 18 months and has a stuffy nose. There aren't really any decongestants for his age range and I would rather not give him Benadryl since I don't think its allegies. He eats regular table food and I have given him Dum Dums before. I was going to get some Ricolas not anything too strong. If you have any ideas to help clear his nose let me know. We are using Vick's baby rub already.

  • Anyone know this veggie pizza recipe?

A few years ago an ex co-worker of mine made a veggie pizza for a baby shower. I would like to make it for a family cookout. I no longer work with her so I can't ask her for the recipe.

I think the crust was Pillsbury creasent roll dough with cream cheese spread on it. It was topped with raw veggies and shredded cheddar. I plan on modifying it a little but I am looking for the exact recipe to start with. Also, if you have any suggestions for exotic cheeses or veggies that I can add please include that in your answer.

  • What are some tips for giving a toddler a hair cut?

Tips on doing it yourself or going to a barber would be greatly appreciated. If I go to a stylist I have to hold my 1 year old and we both end up covered in hair. If I do it myself it doesn't look horrible but it doesn't look great, on the plus side he is the only one covered in hair. I can't clip a towel around his neck because he will rip it off.

  • What are all of the varieties of Banquet frozen dinners available?

Lets face it, Banquet dinners are almost like pet food for people but in certain circumstances they are a convieniant thing to eat. Some of them are tolerable and some are questionable. I've noticed certain stores offer different kinds.

What are all of the types available at the stores by you?
