1 AnswerChevrolet8 months agoDoes Microsoft Edge work well on Windows 7?
I have to keep Windows 7 until I can find a replacement for several critical applications that won't work under Windows 10.
I'm told IE is swiss cheese security-wise. So I'm thinking of replacing it with MS Edge.
Before I risk the life of my computer, I want to know if Edge works properly under Win 7.
4 AnswersSoftware1 year agoIs there a way to ban hyperlinks from an Excel file?
Every few months, I have to spend many hours finding and eliminating invisible hyperlinks in Excel files.
Sometimes I find some even right after I have spent hours eliminating them.
One time, a file went from 400K to 4.1M when I just added one row from another file...thousands of invisible hyperlinks came with it somehow.
So I'd like to find a way to set something that doesn't allow any hyperlinks in a file.
...I'd also like to learn how to find and eliminated them in bulk, not one cell at a time.

every few months, a couple of columns in one of my main Excel spreadsheets gets "infected" by a hyperlink.
I have to search down the column and remove them, one by one, and then Save As the spreadsheet to be sure I have a clean copy.
2 AnswersSoftware3 years agowhy can't I post a question here?

I've tried nuking them with a pan of water in the microwave. That either has no effect or turns them to rubber...still not edible.
Any more ideas?

4 AnswersPrinters3 years agoCan't always get to my Yahoo Answers account.?
Tried for about an hour to get to my Yahoo Answers account.
All I could get was the generic page. When I tried to sign in, the only option I got was to open a new account.
Finally, I got to a page that asked for UID/PWl, but wouldn't accept my credentials. Said I needed a special code to access my account and set a new PW.
So I got the code, and came back here to try to use it...and my account opened immediately, instead of a login page.
What gives? How can I access my account when this happens the next time?

5 AnswersAdd-ons4 years agoCanon Pixma printer won't print because of "error"?
Every time I try to print, or even check ink levels or make a PDF, I get an error screen that says the printer can't do that because it "reported an error"
I tried reinstalling the printer software.
I tried "recycling" the printer: turn it off, unplug it from both electricity and the computer, wait 30+ seconds, and try again.
Neither one worked.
AND I have no trouble printing from my other computer.
1 AnswerPrinters4 years agoWord & Excel misbehaving?
I had to reinstall MS Office when my computer got hacked.
The only two programs I use, Word and Excel, both have problems:
- Word says there's an AutoExec problem
- Excel asks to make updates to the disk every time it opens, and I have to ask for the file I want to work on several times before it actually opens.
I have reinstalled MS Office twice, but the problems remain. I'm using the same install disk that worked fine before the hack.
Any idea what has gone wrong? or how to fix it?
1 AnswerSoftware4 years agoSomeone put a password on my computer?
I was stupidly a victim of ransomware. They put a password on my computer,
and changed the passwords on two of my email accounts.
Any ideas on how I can either find out what the password is or remove it?
I do have the logs of what they did, but don't know how to read them to figure out how/when they set the password, or what it is.
2 AnswersSecurity4 years agoHow can I describe a velcro closure on a notebook, or a velcro expansion band in a cap, without using that word?
eBay has removed some of my listings for using the word velcro, saying that it is something like a copyright violation (I forget the exact term), because what I am describing was not made by Velcro, Inc.
...In point of fact, the particular part of the item I'm selling probably WAS made by Velcro, Inc, just not the entire item.
Hence, my question: is there another term I can use that conveys the same meaning?
