  • This guy does not want to meet in person, what should I do?

I'm a middle-aged woman, I met a guy on a site. He is younger than me. He has slight autism. He shows no interest in meeting in person at all. He purchased me lingerie recently and wanted me to show him how I looked in it and wants to flirt with me. He texts me everyday to say hello and to have short conversations through text only.

I am contemplating telling him that I'm having a couple of people over. A couple of guys have asked me out. I feel like I am too available. Is this okay to do? This guy told me before that he doesn't want to meet. He said he doesn't like to meet in person.

  • Could this person be using someone else's pictures?

I met a man on a date site. We talked a couple of times on the phone and decided to meet at a halfway point for coffee today. He suddenly told me that his car was broken down and asked me if I could drive out to his city which is kind of far from me.

Suddenly he got strange and said he thinks I didn't meet him because he is disgusting, brown, and fat. He has sent me a few pictures through text and he is thin, not ugly, and he is clearly not brown. Color has nothing to do with me not driving out to meet him at all. Could it be this person is another person using someone else's pictures? Or could it be that this person has a distorted self-image? I'm confused by this.

  • Why is this person being so disrespectful towards me?

I'm on a date site, I'm a middle-aged woman really trying to find someone to date. I met someone last week who seemed nice so I gave him my phone number. He started off asking me questions about myself such as my favorite foods, etc. Towards the end of the conversation, he started asking me direct sexual questions about what I would do or not do. I was very surprised and told him to please not do that as I like to get to know a guy first. He said he is sorry but that he is attracted to me. Then we started talking again and he started saying lewd things again. Why would a person keep talking lewd when you clearly tell them that it's a turnoff? How can a guy be attracted to a woman he has never met before?

  • What could I be doing wrong?

I've been on a date site for a few years now. I am a woman in my 50's and I have been meeting men but they all approach me the same way. They all ask me if I will do certain sexual things in the first conversation. Guys also ask me to come over right away. It makes me uneasy. I don't understand why they don't ask me to coffee or want to date. What could I be doing wrong?

  • Do our neighbors not like us?

My kids and I just moved a few months ago to a new apartment. We've noticed that there is an Asian couple that lives next door. They have not said hello to us. I tried to say hello once and the man didn't really say much. We can't help but to notice that often times when we walk by or come home, they open their door. They never come out to say hi.

Are they keeping an eye on us? Do they just not like us? Why are these people doing this?

  • This person was attracted but then saw me as a friend, why is this?

I'm on a date site, I recently met someone who was nice a few months ago. We had talked previously but he went off the site and came back on to say hello to me again. I moved and he said he was glad I lived closer to him. We hit it off and I was going to meet him at a park but changed my mind and wanted to wait a little. I wanted to meet recently because we had been talking for a while. He admitted that we share a connection. When I asked him to meet, he said only as friends. When I asked him why, he asked me what made you think that I had any romantic feelings?

He said he never alluded to any intentions of dating me in his conversations. He said that I never asked him how he felt about me. He said he was attracted to me back when I asked him to meet at the park but when he saw I wasn't ready he said he saw me as a friend. He never mentioned any sexual and racy things to me unlike other guys on the site but I thought he was just being respectable. I'm confused, it's a date site. What would this guy want? What would make him have such a change of heart?

  • Is it better to chat more before actually meeting?

I met a guy on a date site today and we chatted a little bit. He wants to hang out this week in a couple of evenings. I feel that is too soon. I find it strange that he wants to meet right away. Is it strange of me to want to chat more or talk on the phone for a few days before meeting?

  • Why was security called when we were just looking at items?

My daughter and I were shopping at a local CVS store looking at Halloween decorations. We enjoy decorations and really look at the decorations very carefully. When we were there last week, they said on the intercom that they were calling security in the front. We saw security peeking at us in the next door aisle.

We saw that many people were going through items in different aisles. We purchased many items that day including Halloween decorations. What would cause security to be called as we were simply looking at decorations?

  • What would be the reason for my ex-husband's negativity?

I am in my late 50's and my ex-husband is in his late 60's. Whenever I talk to him about plans or things I am going to do, he says we can pass away at any moment, it could even be next week. I say that I have to think of here though and what I am going to do for the rest of my life such as a relationship, maybe places I want to go, etc. Why would he always mention the inevitability of death when I mention planning for the rest of my life? I tell him I want to plan for now and just be happy in my life.

  • Someone I don't know wants to meet me in at their house?

I joined a date site a little while back. I really want to meet people but now men are using the excuse of Covid-19 and don't want to risk catching it so they are telling me I need to come over to their house. The problem is that I don't know them so it's not safe they become kind of agitated with me when I say I'd rather meet in a public place for the first date. Why do men not understand this?

  • Should I continue communicating with this person?

I am a middle-aged lady on a date site. I am not necessarily looking for anything serious but I am looking for dating. I exchanged phone numbers with a guy on there who seems nice but I am not sure I have a romantic connection with him. He said he understood but kept texting me kind of frequently. Is it okay to text him just to speak friendly? Or would that be leading him on?

  • My ex ignores me and has refused to talk to me for years?

I have an ex that I've been divorced fom for over 20 years. We share two grown children. We often will go out with the kids for different events, birthday dinners, etc. Everytime we go out, my ex makes me sit in the back seat of the car which I hate.

When we get to the place, he does not say one word to me the entire time. I do often bring up things or show him pictures to initiate conversation but he will shut me down with one word answers and go back to completely ignoring me again. He will talk to my children but not me at all.

It often makes me feel very awkward and people will even look over. I finally decided I am not going to be a part of anything he is at anymore. It is very dysfunctional. Why would my ex ignore me outright for years?

  • This person started putting me down for no reason, why?

I met a guy on a date site. He was kind of unclear to what his situation was as he seemed to be staying in many different cities. I decided to give him my phone number to text. He asked me to video message him and I said I do that once I know a little bit more about the person first. He wanted a headshot and didn't like the angle of my pictures because I tend to take them with my phone higher up.

He went off on me and started calling me a phony, a liar, and a fool. Just because I didn't want to give him lots of pictures and video message him.I did send one picturre but he didn't think it was sufficient. Could this be an unstable person or is this a person I may have met on the site before? Should I respond to this or leave it alone? He already went off the site.

  • What should I think about this situation?

I'm a middle-aged single woman and I am on two date sites. I am also a pet sitter and I post my ads on a certain site. I have a friend who has a roommate (the roommate is an old friend of mine). My friend, he became sensitive and offended when I told him that I felt that him and his partner share a very codependent relationship. I notice he doesn't really speak to me anymore through email.

Only a few select people know that I place my pet services on a certain site. Someone was posing to be a younger man who was interested and asked me for a date in response to my pet sitting ad. Yet he doesn't even know what I look like, so that's why I think he is fake. I also recently received a very fake message from a "joker" on my date site that was obviously a made-up profile.

I get the feeling, what would be the likelihood that it would be someone I know sending me weird things on a date site and my job site?

  • My son is holding this over my head and wants to move with his dad?

I am a mom in my 50's. My ex and I share a son who is 19 years old. He spends some of the time at his dad's house and some with me and my two older kids (his sister and brother) in our apartment. My son and I are very close.

We plan to move to a larger apartment soon but we are having a lot of trouble because of the Covid situation and some of us being furloughed, etc. My son wants to move by September 1st of this year. I have explained to him with this situation, we are unable to do it at the moment but we will move as soon as possible. We live in a building that can get kind of loud and it is on a busy street. My son says he loses sleep here and he complains about a lot of things here where we live.

His father is planning to move to Idaho sometime next year because he plans to buy to get a loan to buy a house out there. My son keeps holding it over my head that if I don't move by September 1st he might entertain the idea of moving with his dad out of state. I am mind boggled because he is not close to his father at all. I told him if he were to move out of state that I would not see much of him.

I don't understand why my son is giving me ultimatums or what the rush is by September 1st. I've explained to him that it's tough right now but he continues to hold this over my head. Any advice?

  • Should I reconnect with an old flame?

I am a middle-aged attractive woman and I have a friend I have known for years. I have known him since I was about 19 or 20 years old and we dated briefly when I was that age. We both ended up marrying others and having children. We are both now divorced and we are both now single and in our 50's. We lost touch for a while but now we got in touch again on Facebook.

He asked me to go to dinner and I feel very reluctant because so many years have passed that I would feel awkward now. Also, my family and his family all know each other so it would feel awkward for me if something happened between us. I told him I would think about it but he became insulted and said I have known him long and asked why I would hesitate. I am puzzled as to why he would ask after such a long time. Is it rude of me to say that it would feel awkward for me?

  • Was I right in this situation?

I met a guy online who was younger than me. We actually went out once and spent the day together. After the date, he said I was nice but did not want any kind of relationship. We lost contact for a while and he found me on a date site. He began chatting with me by texting me every night for two months. He wanted to text me and flirt every now and then and see pictures of me in different outfits. He became mad when I said I felt uncomfortable flirting over text. I told him that it doesn't make sense to text every night unless we are going to meet. He said he was not comfortable to meet me just yet.

He told me it took him a lot to step out of his "comfort zone" to see me and wished that I would not pressure him. He was like that the last time we met too. He was wanting to talk to me a lot through text but was reluctant to meet for lunch. I told him to please stop texting me unless he plans to see me. He told me I can't make him feel uncomfortable. Is it wrong for me to have said to him to stop texting me every night unless we are going to meet in person?

  • What am I doing wrong?

I'm a middle-aged attractive woman. I have been on a date site for a while. I show flattering pictures, try to have good conversations, I act friendly. I get a lot of guys that just want to do small chat or they say things like you are very beautiful, anyone should be glad to have you but they don't ask me out. A lot of the guys on there chat or want a virtual relationship.

This one guy texts me every single day and even offered to buy lingerie for me. I see no point in this because he always just texts me day to day things. No one seems to be interested in any sort of relationship yet they find me attractive.

Most of the guys are usually younger than me but even the middle-aged ones aren't looking for a relationship. What am I doing wrong?

  • What could this person want?

I met a guy on a site and he is younger than me. He has asked if he can buy me lingerie so I can show it off. I feel strange, we've met in person before only once but he is extremely virtual so he only texts me. He is not into actually dating in person. What should I do about this?
