Not smoking inside the building, but being a legal, 18 year old smoker while attending a high school. My school goes random drug tests if you're in extra-caricular activites, so if i smoked at home, would i get in trouble if they found out?

I usually play metal/rock on my guitar, and when my cat is nearby she usually just lays down, closes her eyes, ect. She becomes very calm, but when i abruptly stop playing, she opens her eyes, looks up at me, and meows a few times. I was wondering if cats could process music and actually understand it enough to enjoy it? I saw this question posted several times, but i wasn't satisfied with any of the answers. I'd like a clear, logical, factual answer please.

i have some excess body fat that i'd like to get rid of. i am male. most of my fat forms on my stomach, pectoral area, and even under the chin. i'd like to get rid of this quickly, and at the same time i'd like to gain muscle in my arms and torso. i usually walk about 3.5 - 4mph for 35-40min a day, and i lift an 8pound weight 100 times with each arm. im not sure if i'm doing too little, or if i'm doing the right amount and im just being impatient. feedback would be nice.

not necessarily the screaming, but the progressive guitar, melodic keys, creative parts/breakdowns. i already listen to Upon a Burning Body and Periphery, but i was hoping there were more out there. i'll even take unlabeled bands

as a child in christian classes, i'd frequently see jesus as a baby, teenager, and adult holding up his index and middle finger whenever he was in a picture. as i grew older, i noticed that he does the same thing in almost all pictures of him. if you google "Jesus", the images will show him holding up the same 2 fingers in many pictures. the bible doesn't even mention this. why are there some many images of him doing this, and who illustrated these images?

I bought a pair of skullcandy headphones, the kind that go over your ears. i plugged it into my Zune and i'd listen to music, but after about 7 months it would do this thing where if the wire were positioned in a weird way, it would only play sound out of one ear. i bought another pair of earbuds that go into your ear, and the same problem happened. if i screw around with the plug and twist the wires around i can get it to play out of both ears. What is the problem and is there a simple way to fix it?

I bought an ibanez rg120 a month or two ago. It has a feature that locks the tuning at the nut, so it doesnt go out of tune when u use the wamy bar i guess, and has fine tuners down by the body/bridge. It goes out of tune like every half an hour or so, whether i use the wammy bar or not. it's driving me crazy. it doesnt go slightly out of tune, it significantly drops a half step. I just can't figure out whats wrong with it

now i dont know much about guitars, so plain english please.

I like how Born of Osiris has fast beat tempos, major keys, comprehensable screaming, some singing, and at least one cool part/breakdown in each of their songs. I dont want a list of metally garbage with nonstop screaching and an unidentifiable key that sounds like dimented clown music. I'd like some structure and rhythem like BoS has. Feedback plz and ty.

i can scream low, (deathgrowl, falsecord, ect) but i wanna be able to scream high too. if u dont know what i mean, i want to scream like breathe carolina, devil wears prada, Eyes set to kill, ect. they all sound similar in the sense that they have a high pitched screamo scream. any tips or steps would be helpful. thanks

im not asking if this is an odd or even "good" combo; i just want to know if these plants have trouble growing next to one another. any info would help because i want to plant these plants in the springtime and this is going to be my first time planting anything other than a pine tree i planted in second grade on arbor day. thanks!

how can i scream like Devil Wears Prada, I Set My Friends On Fire, Gwen Stacy, ect?

i straighten my hair with a cheep 20 dollar k-mart straightener. it gets the job done for me, or at least i think it does. will a more expensive straightener make a difference in the texture or straightness of my hair?

Im in a band, and its complimentary for us to play loud enough so that the neighbors cant hear themselves think. Now, whenever i crank up the distortion dial and bump up the volume, i get a very loud squeeeeeek from the amp. the other guitarist told me it was feedback because the pickups on my guitar werent good enough. he told me i need to go and buy a guitar with "hot pickups". thats what will stop my guitar from sending out feekback.

he explained this whole science behind it: the guitar constantly is recieving distortion from the amp, but if the guitar doesnt have enough pickups, it cant handle the distortion, so it sends it back to the amp, which is why it makes that loud squeel. more pickups=more distortion it can handle.

can someone verrify? :)

I have a Sony Webbie HD camcorder. Because it is an HD camra, it only records in MP4, but because of this, i cannot edit my videos on windows movie maker, which means no adding titles or cutting out bloopers. Now from what i think i understand, windows movie maker only takes formats like avi or mpg. does anyone have any solutions? anything would help, im pretty much clueless here, but i do know that simply changing the format manually will do no good. help! :)

one of my bestfriends constantly talks about her father who has passed away when she was about two. almost every time she brings him up, she ends up crying or taking her bad mood out on me. how can i comfort her properly about this? what are some things i can say or do to cheer her up, or possibly even help her to move on?

im looking for a good one, and i don't want to blow all my money on a camera that the salesman says is a high-tech super recorder whatever with dual electronic hyper blah blah blah, i just want a camera with decent visual and sound quality that can record myself, mostly indoors. im mainly concerned about the mega-pixels. from what i understand, they determine how sharp the image records, but i mean how good would a 1 mega-pixel camcorder compare to a 2 mega-pixel? and a 2 to a 3, and so on. the one that's caught my eye is a 5mp, but again i don't know how good that is. all i know about mp is that the higher the number, the better.....any info would be nice :)
