1 AnswerPolls & Surveys7 years agoLeg waxing question?
I recently had my first leg wax. I normally shave my legs but I let the hair grow in for about 14 days. I went to a well-reviewed waxing clinic. The esthetician there said I had some ingrown hairs but that most of them seemed long enough to wax. She did the wax, and when she was done there were a few hairs left, but I figured I could just pluck them out when I got home. When I got home, however, I noticed that most of the hairs that I thought were waxed hadn't actually been pulled out; they had just been broken off near the skin. So basically I paid $45 for someone to shave my legs really painfully.
I was just wondering if anyone knows why this may have happened. My hair is pretty coarse. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Could the ingrown hairs be the culprit? I didn't think there were that many of them. Also, she said it "looked pretty good" at the end. Anyone have any advice/thoughts?
1 AnswerOther - Skin & Body7 years agoMultiple books in one footnote?
How do I order multiple books in one citation? Alphabetically by author's last name?
2 AnswersWords & Wordplay7 years agoChicago Style - How to list multiple books in one footnote?
Hi there. If I have one citation in a Chicago style text, and in the footnote for that citation there are three different books, do I put them in alphabetical order?
Also, I am aware that in footnotes you put the first name first and the last name second, like so: John Doe, Title of Book... But what about if you are mentioning the same book again in another note? Do you put J. Doe?
Thank you so much!
1 AnswerHomework Help7 years agoStraight women: do you find random naked men attractive?
To the women out there who identify as straight, I am curious: if you were to see random videos or pictures of naked men, would you be aroused by them? And do you find the site of a man's genitalia or naked body arousing, or does it need context? If watching pornography, would you prefer to see a man involved with a woman or can you be interested in man-on-man images?
I am truly just curious because I have had some interesting conversations with friends lately that have led me to believe there is a very broad spectrum in what straight women are attracted to. As usual, my curiosity has taken over and has led me to post here.
Thanks for your answers!
3 AnswersSingles & Dating7 years agoIn Barbados, what would Black kids call a mixed kid?
I am asking this for research for a book. I have been to Barbados for two lengthy visits now and have spoken to many people about various cultural things, but I did not receive this information. I am not asking this to be offensive; I have just heard from some people that it can be difficult sometimes as a mixed-race child growing up in Barbados. If you know any words that Black children might use to described a mixed race child, or if you think it wouldn't actually be that much of a problem, please let me know.
Thank you!

I'm just curious as to outsider opinions of Canada from people who haven't been there. What are your honest opinions? Just naturally what comes to mind?
6 AnswersOther - Society & Culture8 years agoIs Canada a joke........?
I'm just curious as to outsider opinions of Canada. Do you think of it as funny or a joke? Or just sort of neutral? Or cool? Or interesting? Or lame? Or rugged? Or what? What are your first impressions (if you haven't been there).
9 AnswersOther - Canada8 years agoDid you lose a parent or loved one at a young age?
I am currently writing a book, and in the book a character loses his family at a young age. I am trying to comprehend the way a child's mind would process this sort of thing. I want to deal with this issue as sensitively as possible.
If anyone has any experience they would be willing to share, I would greatly appreciate it. I know it is probably hard to talk about, and I would be very grateful for anything you want to tell me. I am trying to understand the way a child would deal with loss and death, and what things would stand out to an adult when recalling a lost he or she faced as a child.
Thank you so much.
3 AnswersOther - Family & Relationships8 years agoWhat version of the Bible is used in the Caribbean?
Does anyone know what version of the Bible Anglicans use in the Caribbean (any country, but can you give me a country name if you are speaking from experience)?
I am looking for a version such as the King James or New International Version. Whatever it may be. Thank you!
If you know what version was used in the 1980s, that would be most helpful.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhat version of the Bible is used in Barbados?
In the Anglican church, what version is used in Barbados (or any other place in the Caribbean, if you have that answer please)? Is it King James? New International? American Standard? I am looking for what version was used in the 1980s, if anyone is old enough to remember that. If not, can you tell me what is used now? Thank you so much!
5 AnswersBarbados8 years agoLooking for a good character name. Help me out?
I am looking for a character for a long-lost grandfather (born in the 1910s or 1920s) of British origin. He was a terrible person, a racist and a sexist guy. I need a male first name that is maybe a bit hard sounding, something that sounds almost villainous but not too dramatic. I already received one good response with some suggestions, but am still undecided. Any ideas? Thanks so much!!!
6 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoIf you are from the Caribbean, what do you think of tourists?
I am just curious what you think of the tourism industry if you live in the Caribbean or have ever lived there. Do you find tourists annoying? Do you think tourism is necessary? Do you appreciate it as an economy? Any thoughts would be very interesting to me. Thank you!
