We are going on our 3rd week of Lyme and my horse has had no improvement while on the Doxycycline. I know there is also Tetracycline which must be administered by a veterinarian. He was diagnosed with moderately positive Lyme and his symptoms are severe fatigue (prefers to lay down most of the day and he gets exhausted just walking from the barn to his paddock, once he gets to the paddock he just wants to lay down) and also some lameness. I have read up on the Tetracycline and saw that some of the side affects can be fatal, so i'm not sure what to do? We just want him to get better! How costly is it to put a horse on Tetracycline? (having the vet have to come out to the farm and inject it, and also the cost of the drug) We are in New York State. Thank you and only serious answers only.

So my brother and I are sharing my horse for the fair this year and we decided to both do the costume class! We will both be Minions and Jake (my horse) will be Gru from Despicable Me! Our outfits are all set but I am a little stuck on how to transform Jake into Gru. I bought black polo wraps, black bell boots, and a black bed sheet. I'm stuck on the long nose and how to fix the bed sheet into a jacket. Also I know Gru has a gray turtleneck underneath and the jacket has a silver zipper with a "G" on the zipper and a gray and black scarf. Ideas and help is much appreciated! Will pick a best answer!!

Last year one of my good friends committed suicide... we drifted a part before that which i truly regret. Me and her mother have become very close and my prom is coming up. Grace went to her prom as a freshman... she was 2 years younger than me. I was talking to her mom today and she offered me her dress to wear, she said she would be honored if i wore although she didnt want me to feel pressured into wearing it. I would be honored to wear it but would it be weird? Im still going to talk to my mom about it but this dress is special.. the only thing holding me back is the fact that Grace isnt with us anymore... it hasnt even been a year yet...

my chicken was attacked by my other chickens, she looks as though she may make it so please no comments on how i should just put her down. They pecked her around her vent and now she does pass whatever waste she has but its a constant run. Shes constantly pushing and its a steady slow thickish white stool... whatever you want to call it. She is eating and drinking and is getting baby advil in her water to help with the pain. Should i be worried or is it just because she is injured. Please, i do realize if it looks like shes not going anywhere i will put her out of her misery but i try not to do that as long as they are eating/drinking and alert.

so my dad is having a party and they both said i could have a small party of my own... i invited my friend and her bf and my other two single friends and my crush. So it really is small.. which isnt necessarily a bad thing! More time for us to be together! :) anyways im just trying to figure out what the heck to do... obviously we are already going to have plenty of food from my dad's party and they are giving me the whole bottom floor for my party. I just wasnt sure what to do to keep everyone amused... music? movies? just dance? Finally yesterday we talked on facebook for a good hour but i was the one who initiated the conversation. He did seem interested in talking though.. he actually put in an effort to talk rather then simple one or two word replies. Should i step back now and wait for him to try to talk to me?

My gelding and i are going to the fair with our 4h group. we compete in both English and western classes and the judges like to see when we put time and effort into making our horses look good! This year however the combined the days. Day 1: fit and show (in hand) western classes, dressage and jumping

Day 2: english classes, trail, and gymkhana events. I don't know if i should band or braid my horses mane... i like braiding and i would really like to do a nice hunter braid on him for the fit and show to show off my skills but obviously hunter braids and western classes don't go together! also i don't want to have to re braid my horses mane continuously throughout the day! please help!!

The horse i have i am currently training. He was previously a cow penning horse but also was abused in his past. He would make a stunning English pleasure horse and he trusts me very much. Right now all he has is a D-ring Snaffle bit. He likes the bit but he is still hard to work with. He doesn't steer nicely with it, and he throws his head up in the air or just in general carries it high. Im looking for something that would make him lower his head and make him nice and soft and round. Serious answers only please! Thank you for any suggestions!

we recently found something in the poop pile that looked kind of like a mucous plug, it was a light pink and somewhat transparent. Our other alpaca gave birth about 2 weeks ago but we lost the cria. Is it her just flushing her system or is it our other alpaca's cervical plug? She isn't elongated or waxy but i want to make sure we are here when she delivers. We aren't even sure if she is pregnant... she is a new addition to our farm and the previous owner of her can't remember exactly when she bred her. We have had a vet come to ultrasound her but she couldn't find much... although our alpaca wasn't on the cooperative side much either. She didn't have much time to really look at the screen before losing connection. Like i said before, we are all nervous about this cria since we lost the last one due to us not being present at the last delivery. Please serious answers only!
