I'm Spanish, how do you call this in English?
4 AnswersLanguages7 years agoWhy are so many people interested in Southern Europeans race?
I'm Spaniard, and I had never thought of my race before reading YA in English. In Spain, people don't talk about it, because we don't really care, but it seems that it's a really important issue for so many people what is our genetic.
I wonder if it changes something, I mean, we are how we are, and are happy being like that, so if you find in our DNA that we have some especific genes, would it mean something? I mean, would we be considered inferior, superior, better, worse, or what?
13 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoThe main characters in the serie: "How I meet your mother" are considered white in US?
I'm from Spain, and I have recently read a lot of questions about if we are white or not, as there are people who think we are not, so it makes me think that probably you have a different criteria from us, and now when I watch series with people very similar to us, I think that they may not be considered white.
The main characters in this serie are brunette or brown haired, and not very pale, and if they came to Spain, they could pass as native Spaniards.
Probably the only one considered white is Bartney.
10 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoWhat do you think ethnicity is?
I mean ethnicity, not race. I usually see questions and answers mixing ethnicity and race, and even judging people for identify their ethnicity with their culture, when i think it's what really matters, as your ethnicity define better who you are than your skin colour.
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture7 years agoDon't you think that Football is a sport for racists, violents and hoolligans?
In any country, it's always the same: violence, racism...
Why those things only happen in Football and not in the rest of sports, like Basket, Ciclyng,...?
3 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)7 years agoAre Puerto Ricans different ethnicity from Mexicans?
I mean ethnicity as a culture, not as a race. I think all Latinos share common elements among them and with Spanish, as language, religion, some cultural roots,...although there are differences too, because they come from different countries and every country has its own culture.
So Latino is an ethnicity itself, but inside this ethnicity, there are different ethnicities too.
10 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoDo Latinoamericans living in US hate people from Spain?
I'm Spanish, and I know that one can not generalize, I know that there are two users of YA that are always making questions and answers against Spanish people, and I know what they are going to answer, but the rest of Latinoamericans some times they call themselves Spanish, but at the same time they do not want to be called Hispanic because it mix them with people from Spain which are white.
Some times it seems that they are happy of having Spanish ancestry, although other times it seems that they say that their Spanish ancestors were horrible people.
