I'm a student at Ohio State, a major in Spanish. Not married, but live with my boyfriend of 4 years. I love sports, music and languages, and am always willing to put in my two cents.

  • How to get an internship?

I have a friend that has a Masters in Areronautical Engineering, and has two Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Aerospace Engineering. Sadly, he doesn't have much actual work experience outside of restaurants, and is working in a sub shop just above minimum wage. I think if he were to get an internship with some engineering company, it could give him an advantage and possible job leads. How does he go about getting an internship? He's in Arizona. Does anybody know of any good companies to contact? Thanks in advance.

  • I am addicted to soda...?

Sunkist in particular. I have gained about 20 pounds in the past year, mostly due to soda. I drink from 2 to 5 a day and I'd really like to stop. I'm trying to get rid of the weight that I've gained but I just can't seem to give it up. The thing is, it's not the caffeine that is the problem. I get headaches when I don't drink soda, and I know that it's due to the lack of caffeine, but even after taking some Excedrin, I still feel that I need a soda. It has something to do with the immense amount of sugar (52g in one can of Sunkist). I can't drink diet or gatorade because they make me sick. I don't like coffee, tea, or flavored waters. I've tried to substitute soda with other drink such as milk and water, but it doesn't satisfy my cravings. The one thing that seems to help is making smoothies out of fresh fruit. They are healthy and the sweet taste and natural syrup in the fruit is very satisfying, but they are just too expensive to constantly be making. Any suggestions?

  • I need to interview somebody about the Cold War...?

I have an interview paper due tomorrow... I need to interview somebody that lived during the Cold War (must be age 45 or older) and was possibly affected by the war. The paper must be two to three pages in length, so I need somebody that knows a bit of detail about the war. If any of you are familiar with the war, or have vivid memories of that time period, I would really love your help. I've been searching for somebody to interview, but nobody that I know really knows anything about the Cold War. If there are any veterans, or even people involved in business that were somehow affected by the war that would let me interview them, I would be extremely greatful. I really need some help with this... thanks in advance.

  • Where do each of the leading candidates stand on immigration?

I'm not asking for your personal opinions on immigration, just where the candidates stand on the issue. I haven't really had time to follow up on it so I'd appreciate a quick overview. Thanks in advance.

  • What was Manny thinking?!?!?!?

First of all... Are you rooting for Indians or Red Sox?

Secondly... Was it a homerun or not?

And thirdly... Why the hell didn't he run? He's a great player, one of my favorites. But walking out of the box after every time he THINKS he's hit a homer is ridiculous... and in this case... watching the ball bounce off the wall and just standing at first is just stupid. What are your opinions?

  • Help with major/career using Spanish?

I want to go into a career using Spanish. I've just started my second year of college so I still have a LITTLE time to select a major but I'm in need of help. I don't know exactly what I want to do - which is why I'm having trouble selecting a major. Here's what I'm sure of... I want to do something with Spanish, I don't want an 8 to 5 desk job, I need human interaction, and I prefer hands on type work (or atleast not typing on a computer all day). No suggestions of becoming a teacher, please - I'm already aware that that is an option. Obviously, translating is also an option... SPECIFIC translating ideas are welcome. I'm looking for career choices (with majors needed to fall into that particular field listed) that I may not have thought of... there are MILLIONS of things that I could do with Spanish; what are your ideas? I'd prefer to stay in the U.S... not travel to other countries to work in a U.S. embassy or anything along those lines. Thanks in advance!

  • Help with interior paint colors...?

I want to paint every room, but I'm on a tight (college) budget. Standard 2 bed apt; rent, not own. All wood (trim, furniture and cabinets) is dark brown. The apt. is about 15 years old and I just want to cozy it up. Living room - light beige couch, light maroon curtains. Kitchen - all white besides a neutral color tile on floor and brown cabinets. Upstairs - All white w/brown trim. Baths - White sinks, neutral tile on floor, and muddy green color shower tile. I can figure out the accessories, I'm just interested in paint color suggestions. It's just my boyfriend and I in the house, and we plan on staying for a few years, so I'd like to make it a little more cozy.

  • Computer programs to view/edit videos...?

I can't watch videos on my computer because of ITunes... ITunes is messed up which screwed with Quicktime which screwed with Java... etc. It's an ongoing problem... I haven't been able to fix ITunes... I've tried re-installing everything but that doesn't work... I've also tried JUST re-installing Quicktime but that doesn't want to work either. If you can fix this problem then great... but I'm not really worried about that... the point is... I want to download a program that will allow me to view and edit videos that I have stored on my camera... but nothing that runs off of or uses Quicktime. If you know of multiple programs I'd love to hear all of them... Thanks.

  • Female kitten names?

I'm looking for something unique... interesting. I don't want any names like tigger, boots, mittens, sox, stockings, ginger etc. (typical cat names) nor do I want angel, princess, precious, fluffy... any of those types. Like I said, something unique yet short and easy to say. The kittens are black. Thanks!
