is it legal to sell dell computer components?
I have a broken Dell computer (processor fried), and have now upgraded to a new computer. Is it legal for me to sell the component parts (Power supply, motherboard, case etc.)?
E.g. on ebay?
I would be selling in the UK, but I assume the rules would be pretty similar world-wide.
thanks very much in advance
4 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoWindows cannot load drivers for ethernet adapter
I have an ASUS AiLifestyle P5K motherboard, an Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Adapter came with this.
I have installed Windows Vista Home Edition (64bit).
I cannot however access the internet because it claims that my adapter hasn't been installed. This message comes up in device manager:
"This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31)"
I have installed and reinstalled the latest driver to no effect. How can I make this work?
Thanks in advance for any help
2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agowhat does "Hacked by IIC Team" mean on IE?
My internet explorer browser displays "Hacked by IIC Team" on every page I load.
Have I been hacked? This is a public computer so it doesn't matter too much to me personally, but I was wondering if it is a virus, maybe spyware taking down my passwords?
Thanks
1 AnswerOther - Internet1 decade agoHow can I find out what bandwidth my RAM is?
I bought a Kingston branded RAM module off eBay, however its bandwidth was not written on eBay and is not on the module itself.
Is there a way I can find out what bandwidth it is? (Ie PC2700, PC3200 etc.?)
p.s. I have already looked on the Kingston website and there is no info on the bandwidth
Thanks alot
1 AnswerAdd-ons1 decade agoHow can I work out what speed by RAM is?
I bought an unmarked RAM module (v. cheap if you want to ask why!). I have found out most of its specifications using MemTest86+, but I don't know which one is the speed (PC????). Is there another way of finding the speed without a label or using MemTest86+ ?
3 AnswersAdd-ons1 decade agoI have noticed that a RAM module that I have is missing two metal pins. Can I fix this easily myself?
The RAM is NCP, PC3200, 1GB, DDR(400 I think), 184-pin (182 at the moment!), non-ECC
see these photos:
