  • Why is the tv showing up green?

When I hooked up my dvd player and tried to watch a movie, the movie showed up with a really green tint. I've unplugged and replugged all the cords and I can't figure out what's wrong. It's only green when I'm watching a dvd, the normal tv is fine. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks for the help!!!

  • Whta does this quote mean?

    Friedrich Nietzsche said,

"Nothing is beautiful, except man alone: all aesthetics rests upon this naïveté, which is its first truth. Let us immediately add the second: nothing is ugly except the degenerating man—and with this the realm of aesthetic judgment is circumscribed."

I'm wanting to use this quote in a paper, but I'm not sure if this is supposed to be in favor of aestheticism or if it is saying aestheticism is foolish. Opinions?

  • Dimensions of a grand piano...?

Does anyone know the dimensions of a grand piano. I am doing a project in a design class and a have to build a model of a grand piano using a computer program. I just need some designs to plan my model off of, but I have no idea what the dimensions are. If anyone knows them for some reason or can find them online that would be great. I've looked but have had some trouble finding anything.

If they are detailed, that would be good, like specific dimensions of all the inner piece would be great. Not just the outside dimensions. Thanks in advance!

  • Fans of Harry Potter with a sense of humor... I need your help!?

So my teacher (of my acting class, although that's unimportant to this...) challenged our class to bring something next week to class that would make him laugh. We are supposed to use only the information that he likes Harry Potter and The Office.

I was thinking of bringing a list of wizarding "That's what she said..." jokes. If you have any good ones, post them!

Thanks in advance for the help and I hope it was fun at the same time!

  • Help auditioning for college theatre programs...?

I'm going to major in Theatre in college, so of course I am having to audition everywhere. I need some suggestions for two good monologues. Here is the criteria from the colleges...

-Combined they must be under 3 minutes

-They have to be able to be performed reasonably by your gender (I'm female btw)

-They need to be contrasting (in tone/emotional range)

-They must come from published plays

-Stay contemporary (no Greek tragedy, Shakespeare, Moliere, etc)

Any help whether a specific monologue or even just a certain play that might have what I need is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Center of nuclear power research?

I'm writing a paper on nuclear power and I'm supposed to mention where the center of excellence is. So basically who is ahead in this field or where they are doing the most research on it. I at least need a country but if you know where it is as specific as a company or research facility or anything that would be great.

  • What does it take to be a "top contributor"?

I was looking through this section and saw some "top contributors"

-flip out because Twilight was totally well written!

    and

-explain why Hamlet took place in winter because "Fultonbras" attack probably happened then

I know these are just two instances but it made me wonder what exactly makes you a top contributor, cause unless there is another version of Hamlet where Fortinbras is called Fultonbras or a version of Twilight that a decent author wrote, I'm utterly confused.

  • Online plagiarism check? (possibly free?)?

Is there anywhere I can go online to do a plagiarism check for a paper? I am finishing up a research paper and I didn't intentionally copy anything but after reading commentary after commentary on a subject you kind of feel like there is nothing left to say that is entirely your own. I would just feel more comfortable checking it somewhere before turning it in. Thanks!

  • is this sentence grammatically correct?

OK, knowing that all the information in this sentence is limited to one sentence only (basically saying I need a period in the middle isn't an option) is this sentence grammatically correct, and if not what would be the best way to fix it?

"From the moment he begins to court Kate, the “unmarriable” woman, Petruchio allows Katherine no say in the matter; first, by agreeing to the terms of engagement with her father, ignoring all Kate’s shrewish protests, and finally by wearing a ridiculous collection of garments to the couple’s wedding, knowing Kate has no option but to face the humiliation and marry the only man who wants her, no matter how crude and belligerent he may be."
