  • Is it unreasonable to want my stylist to take her time to ensure as minimal dye gets on my skin as possible?

I have been going to the same stylist for about two years, and overall I'm happy with her performance.. There is however one thing that drives me crazy, and that is that when I get my hair colored with her; she gets dye all over me! On my ears, cheeks, neck, forehead.. Usually she doesn't even try to clean it up before the rinse unless she sees me trying to wipe it off myself. I feel like since I am at a well-known salon/spa and paying about 130 dollars for a cut and color, that I shouldn't have to settle for such sloppy work.. Is it unreasonable of me to not want to have to return home after my service and shower to scrub my scalp, face, and ears? I have mentioned to her that it bothers me in a kind chit chat when trying to get it off of me, but every time I visit her I just know that I will have to scrub when I leave.. If it isn't unreasonable is there a way that I could address it, without the complaint coming directly from me? I really like her, and I hate being negative to someone, but I'm almost to the point that I am considering going elsewhere.

  • How do you give your toddler/children a bath?

Okay so the other day I observed a good friend of mine give her one year old a bath. I have never seen anyone in my entire life, give a bath in this way. I am a mom of a four year old, and I just wondered am I totally off base, or do others do this as well? My friend runs a little water into the tub, allows her son to splash and play a while, then she lets out the water, lathers him up head to toe with soap and shampoo, and runs water into an open drain tub and begins rinsing him off.. I am looking at this, thinking to myself this poor boy must be freezing! How do you bathe your kiddo's?

  • Am I out of line as a nanny? Or is there such thing as Nanny Ethics?

I am a nanny of a boy who will be 1 in late October. I am working with him on drinking out of a cup and getting rid of the bottle and pacifier. This last week I had worked with him so much that he had drank out only a cup for the last two days, except for when his parents were home in the evening. His mom says that she wants him to drink out of a cup, but over the weekend she gave him endless bottle's and paci's.. Today when I came back to work he refused the cup. His mom said she gave him the bottles and paci's because he was "sick" (a little allergies). We have talked about her desire's and what she would like to see happen with his developement, and she assures me that she has the same goals as me, but that she's a softy. I really wanted him to drink out of a cup, kick the paci habit, and maybe say a few words before his bday ( only a week away now). But I feel like all my hard work was thrown away this weekend. I really just wanted to quit! His mother goes on and on about what a great nanny I am, but then she throws away our progress. Or atlest that's how I feel. I am torn though, it's his mother, do I just give in and give the paci's and bottles, because she is his mom and I am out of line? Or do I have a right to feel this way? Should I tender my resignation? My mom gave me advice to just shut up, do my job, and get a paycheck. That's hard for me because I love my job, and I don't want it to just be a "pay check".

  • I need an energy boost. Any suggestions?

I have a 4 day weekend, starting tomorrow. I would really like to get some things done around the house, and could use an energy booster to get me going ( I have a 3 year old).. I don't want anything dangerous and something easy to run out and pick up would be preferable other than the obivous RedBull and Expresso. Let me know where I can find it too! Thanks all!!
