I LOVE YAHOO & LUCID DREAMING!!!

  • Ever think adoption was a big mistake?

We adopted a boy, from foster care, when he was only 3 and thought that he was young enough to not have major problems. He is now a teenager who wont do anything he is supposed to do unless you punish him for not doing it. He likes to think that he knows everything and is constantly telling the younger children to do the opposite of what we tell them. He has a smart remark for everything, thinks he is better than all the cousins and even the grandparents are easily annoyed when he is around, and I don't blame them. He has extreme attachment issues. He loves strangers because he can make them think whatever he wants. He likes their first impressions of us to be all lies. His lies are minor now and most people know us and know they aren't even close to being true but I am afraid that he might make up worse ones and tell someone who doesn't really know us and that will lead to our own biological children being taken away. These issues have giving me anxiety attacks and I hate waking up every morning and having to see him. I am afraid to stay home overnight without my husband home due to fear that he will try to do something to me or one of the other children. I hate living like this. I was trying to help a child and now I am living in turmoil! I want him out of our house so badly. My husband had a heart attack and I know some of the stress is from this kid. I am afraid that he will literally kill my husband from inducing stress. I feel like everyone in the community will look down on me if I try to find a new home. What should I do? Anyone else been through this?

  • 35 weeks pregnant and lots of pressure. Has baby dropped?

I am 35 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. My 1st baby was almost 6 years ago and this time everything seems a lot different. I did have him at 37 weeks but never felt this pain and never noticed that he had dropped. This weekend my feet swelled so bad that I could almost see them swelling and can't fit into a lot of my shoes. Now I am feeling a pressure when I stand/walk that feels like bone on bone in my pelvic area. Could the baby have dropped? I also woke up several times last night with a sharp pain down low near the top of my pelvis on both sides. Anyone else ever have this happen?

  • Cat has lumps on neck, blood in urine and foggy glazed over eye?

My mother left her cat inside the other day and it peed on the floor (he doesn't have a litter box). There was blood in his urine and she said that he usually cries to go out right after eating. Now today she realized that he has some lumps on the back of neck and one of his eyes looks glazed over. She was wondering if he was going blind. I saw the eye and one does look crystal clear and the other looks foggy. My dad also mentioned that the cat lost 6-8 pounds (the cat has always been big) Any ideas?

  • Can you switch screens on an iPod Nano or Zune?

I was searching Ebay and a lot of people are selling broken iPods. The screen on mine has a crack so I can't read the menu but it will still play. I also bought a Zune and the same thing happened. Is there any way to buy another iPod or Zune that doesn't work but has a good screen and switch the screens on them to make one good working one?

  • Who is Mother's Day really about???

I am a mother of 3 and when Mother's Day comes around, I want to be with my husband & my kids and go out to eat. Both my mother and my husband's mother think Mother's Day is still ALL ABOUT THEM! We do stop by or ask them to go out to eat with us but we get the guilt trip if the entire day isn't centered around them. When does it stop being about the older mothers and be about the mothers who are actually home 24/7 raising kids. Isn't Mother's Day more about mothers who are actually raising kids? They think they get all the attention on Mother's Day and Grandparent's Day! When is it just ALL ABOUT ME?

  • Seeing Black spots in vision?

My son is adopted and so I have very little family history. He has been seeing 2 black spots in his line of vision in his left eye for about 4-6 weeks. The eye doctor said he has astigmatism and that is causing the black dots. The next week he was seeing a black spot in his right eye. This kind of blows his theory. I took my son for another visit and he says everything looks healthy. He seems to have no idea what else it might be. He said they are not floaters and the eye looks healthy. Any ideas?

  • What can I do about a doctor who performed surgery without consent?

I went to the hospital for a laparoscopy on Thursday. When I was discharged the papers said I also had a D&C and hysteroscopy done. I called the doctor's office today and the nurse was on the defense and told me that I didn't have them done and refused to even talk to the OBGYN who performed my surgery. What steps should I take now to find out what was done to me while under anesthesia. The nurses at the hospital tell me one thing (and documented it on my discharge paper) and the OBGYN nurse tells me something different...and man is she snotty about it too!!!

  • Does a woman have to have surgery when diagnosed with Endometriosis?

Can living with Endometriosis cause any further problems? My current symptoms include pain during sexual intercourse and pain when passing stool or urinating. I self diagnosed myself because the doctor had no idea what I had wrong with me. I have this pain and a small amount of spotting mid-cycle until my period starts again. Around day 3 of my cycle, the bleeding is really bad and I will go through a super plus tampon every 1-2 hours (sorry TMI). The pain used to be excruciating but has lessening in the last few months. I was wondering that if I decided to just live with the minor pain I have and not have surgery, will that cause any more problems? Has anyone had Endometriosis and decided to go untreated?

  • Should adopted kids be allowed contact with birth parents if rights have been terminated?

Do you think it is healthy for an adopted child (under the age of 10) to have any contact with a birth mother who had her kids taken away for failure to protect? Her boyfriend/the kids birth father said he would kill the children at one point and she chose him over them. The birth father does not want any contact. The birth mother is currently in jail for holding a woman at knife point to rob her to get money for drugs. People have told me that a child should be able to know their birth parents but doesn't this seem unhealthy? I have told the birth mother that I will keep in contact with her and send pictures and updates as long as she does not try to contact the kids. When the kids are 18 then they can make the choice for themselves. She is also mad at me because when the kids asked why she was in jail, I told them the truth. Should I lie to the kids to be careful not to hurt her feelings? I think the kids deserve the truth.

  • I dream that gum is stuck in my mouth and wont come out???

I have a dream quite constantly that I have gum stuck in my mouth and I can't get it all out. I keep pulling and pulling and more keeps coming. I am usually able to lucid dream and this should give me some clue that I am dreaming, but I can't seem to make this dream stop until I wake up. What does it mean? Anyone else have this same dream?

  • What should I do if the bio parents try to contact my adopted child?

I adopted 2 children from foster care and the adoption was open. I have chosen to have contact with the birth parents as long as they do not try to contact the kids in any way. I will send updates and pictures just between us and no contact with the kids is allowed. I guess I am a sucker for feeling bad for them losing their kids even though it was no fault but their own. Now the birth mother tried sending mail to my/her son for his birthday without my ok. What should I do? Should I cut off all info? Has anyone else adopted a child and had to deal with the birth parents? What did you do? Was it the right choice?

I also let the kids visit their bio grandparents but I have heard that they might not be safe. They are fine for about an hour or 2 and then want to leave. I can tell the kids get on their nerves. Do you think it is better for adopted children to have contact with bio family or should I cut off ties altogether? I NEED HELP!

  • How come I don't have friends? =(?

I am 32 & have 3 children. I don't really have friends anymore. All my friends moved away & got married & I have a hard time making friends. I am very giving & when I find a friend, I give it my all. The last "friend" I had was going to have a baby & I spent countless hrs & hundreds of $$$ giving her a shower & all I asked in return was a call when the baby was born. She had it about a wk ago & still no call! I had another "friend" who just moved into a new house & we bought them a HUGE basket full of household things & food & helped them move. They invited us to 1 BDay party & then our church was having a Family Fun day for the community & I volunteered to help but needed to find 2 other people to help. She said she had wanted to volunteer & so I asked her to help. In the middle of our activity (with tons of people there)...she backs out! Are a lot of people like this or is it just me. I am having a hard time dealing but maybe people are really this selfish, or am I pushy?

  • Basal temps never go over 98...Normal?

This is the first month I have started charting my temps. I bought a regular digital thermometer instead of the basal one. Does that make a difference? I know the dr always says to add 1 degree to the digital temp for an acurate temp. But anyhow...I didn't start charting until right before ovulation and my temps were 96.6 - 97.2 and after ovulation they were around 97.5 - 97.9 and never went over 98. It seems like all the charts I find online don't seem to dip that low and go a lot higher. Has anyone else had temps that started that low and stayed that low? Does the basal thermometer ad that extra degree and that's why my regular digital one seems so different? Or, is it a sign of anything?

  • What is the difference in High Blood Sugar & Low Blood Sugar?

If a child eats a lot of sugar snacks or candy and then spaces out, would she have high or low blood sugar? Or something else?

It is like a person who can't hold their liquor...but she can't hold her sugar. I can tell when school or grandparents give her sugar. Her entire personality changes and she is unable to function. I am thinking it might be Absent Seizures but I also wonder if they are brought on by sugar.

I have been to my doctor and he is no help at all! He just says, "Well, Don't give her sugar" and wont even test her for anything. Unless I go in knowing what I am talking about and have more info, I don't think I will ever get anywhere or be able to get the tests she needs =(

  • Why is my daughter spacing out and crying all the time?

My daughter is almost 8. We adopted her when she was 4 but she lived with us since she was 2. She has always seemed emotionally like a 2 yr old & has never seemed to grow up in that aspect. Academically she is where she should be.

There are times when she does seem to space out & look right through you when you are talking to her or she will ask you a question & look right at you but not hear the answer. She still cuts her hair if she finds scissors & cannot be trusted with crayons or other art supplies in her room because she will write on walls or tear up paper into little pieces all over the floor. Things seem to be worse when she has had sugar. She also breaks down crying if asked a simple task. You can tell her to go to the bathroom before we go somewhere & she will go in her bedroom & change her clothes???

Has anyone else had any experience with this sort of thing? I am at my wits end. The doctor just says, "Don't give her sugar." They wont even do testing!

  • What are some great ways to tell the family we are having a baby!?

My husband and I are trying for a baby. We want to try to keep it a secret until I am 3 months along.

I have been trying to think of some really cool ways to tell everyone at once. What are your ideas on how to get everyone in the same place at the same time without them suspecting anything?
