  • Is something wrong with my goldfish?

My goldfish is typically very active. He eats all of his food quickly and swims around all day. All of a sudden he started slowing down and doesn't swim as much. His colors are still bright (I would say brighter than usual) but he's barely eating. He also used to attack the plant in his tank and break the leafs off but now he doesn't do that. He just lets it grow. I change his water about every 5 days because it's a small tank without a filter or oxygen pump. I put him in another big tank when I went home from school and he killed two of my other fish. I know that everyone is going to tell me to get a bigger tank but he was only an inch long when I got him and now he's probably close to two and I am going to get him a bigger tank at the end of may. He just seems sluggish lately but his colors are really bright compared to usual so I don't know what's up. He's a calico fantail and I got him in the middle of December if that helps with defining his age. I also thought that he didn't have enough oxygen maybe that's why he wasn't swimming but usually when he is running low on oxygen he sits at the top and blows bubbles but now he's just laying on the bottom of the tank. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks!

  • How is milk priced for farmers?

I understand that milk is bought from the farmer at cwt (per hundred weight/pounds). But is there a formula that they typically use to factor in the fat, protein, somatic cell count, etc. What is the average price paid cwt? How do they use these factors to produce a price? Thanks.

  • Why does my pig have diarrhea?

I got pigs two weeks ago and the one has had diarrhea ever since. "Berk" eats and drinks and walks around and is just as normal as the other pig. But when i walk them poop will just run out his butt. It's like his butt hole won't close or something. The other pig poops turds and it's in piles and Berk doesn't. I understand they may be stressed but I don't understand why the one pig has diarrhea but the other doesn't.

  • What kind of dog is this?

My grandma used to have an amazing dog and I know that it was registered because one time i asked her how old it was and she got out the registration papers to look. And now I want a dog like it but I have no idea what breed it is. It had wavy longish hair. Kinda like a golden retriever. And it had floppy ears but they weren't real long. And it was black with brown markings almost exactly like a doberman or rottweiler. But she weighted about 50-60 pounds and was super kid friendly. Gram says it was a German Shepherd but i'm pretty sure that it wasn't because she had floppy ears. Any ideas??

  • Choosing a career path is harder than i thought it would be?

So I am at that age were i have to apply for college soon and i don't know what i want to do. And I don't want to go in as undecided. I either want to be a Agriculture Education Teacher or a Police Officer. Tell me what you think I should do please.

Being a police officer is great money. You start out with a job making $30,000-50,000 a year and then you can go to $50,000-65,000. Then you can set goals for yourself to be a , Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captains who make about $85,000 a yr. I would like moving up in my job. I'd like to work with the K9 Unit because I really like working with animals and riding horses in the city would be fun too. BUT, Police officers work 24/7. So I'd probably get some crazy hours and that'd be taking time away from my family. Money shouldn't be all that important but I barrel race horses which is expensive anyways and you need weekends off for that. But as an Agriculture Education Teacher, I'd have the PERFECT hours. Weekends off and holidays to spend with my family. Teachers only make about $50,000 with an entry wage of $30,000. But there is also only 1 ag teacher in my school and there is only 5 in my entire county. So what are the odds of me getting a successful job. i don't know if i will be able to get a job to still have enough money to get the things i want but as a cop i don't know if the hours will work with my schedule.

    please help

  • How much is this horse really worth?

I am free leasing a horse that I got from a lady I know since i was a little kid. She has the horse for sale for $3500 and its been for sale since a year ago. I told her that I might be interested in buying it after the summer once i get a job and after i ride her for the summer. I've been keeping her at my barn for 5 months now. She is a 14 yr old 15.2 hh quarter horse. After we got her I found out that she is novicular but the lady didn't know that because she never rode her. We have about $300 in her shoeing and vet care just for that. She also is allergic to bugs and breaks out in hives if she doesn't get her medicine which is about $120 a year for that. But when i barrel race her i usually do really good. The last show i went to there was 6 people in my classes and i got 1st in barrels and 2nd in poles. She also walks into the ring and out of the ring really nicely. She doesn't prance or rear and she is excellent on trails. But my job only pays $200 a month. I only work two days a week and that will take me forever to pay for her if i don't pay for anything else. She is a great horse but i only have until October to decide if i want to buy her or not. Would you pay $3500 for this horse? How much would you pay? And i figure that she will be slowing down soon anyways because she is 14 yrs old but i could breed her for another horse when i go to college. What should i do?

p.s. Me and the owner have no contracts in any way shape or form.

  • Why is porn legal but prostitution isn't?

They are both having sex for money. Just the one is filmed. This makes no sense to me. Does anyone know?

  • Do I have the right to be mad or am I over reacting?

It's a very long story but I'll just sum it up. Well I just retired my beautiful 20 yr old paint horse named "Rose" and I just got a new horse named "Twister". Well I got Twister at the very end of March and I practiced with her daily. I then took her to a rodeo and placed 1st in barrels and 1st in pole bending. I was really happy. Then shortly after she started limping. And day by day her limp started getting worse and worse. And because I am only leasing this horse until October and then I have to buy her, I decided that I would just get x-rays to see what is really going on because I didnt want to make it worse than it really might be. It turns out that she has novicular in her 2 front feet. And then we had to pay $300 worth of treatments to get her able to be ran again. After finding out that she had this i just wanted to give her back to the owner.but my mom won't let me. I am only 16 so i don't really get to do whatever i want. But I just had another rodeo yesterday and my mom gave my horse all this medicine to make her not limp. Her treatment is going well but I just don't want to work with a lame horse. I got 5th in barrels and nothing in poles. But my mom videotaped me running and wrote down all my faults. And her friend came over after each run to tell me what I can improve on even though i didn't ask her. I only got to practice twice since the first rodeo because of the novicular. Do you feel like parents take a lot of the fun out of showing horses? And would you buy this horse? This really makes me not want horses anymore because I feel that I can only compete and not have fun. I just wish my parents would be nice about it. I mean, I had fun and I did my best but the other riders probably practiced more than twice.

  • Help with my sick guinea pig?

I got two brother guinea pigs in August of 2008. I keep them outside in a nice cage next to my two pet rabbits. In Janurary, I started noticing that my one pig was thin. "Russel" always eats and is super friendly. His brother "Charlie" is normal weight and at the time was perfectly healthy. Then in Feburary, Russel's bones started showing and he started losing his hair around his neck and face. I also noticed cut marks on his face and blood on him. His skin is EXTREMELY dry and when I bath him, his hair falls out in chuncks. I have checked his teeth and they are fine. I have added peanuts and raisins in his food for added vitiamins and protien. But I haven't seen improvement. Then I went on a trip for a few days and when came home the pet sitter told me that my guinea pig had lost hair. Both Charlie and Russel has lost large portions of their hair over the last few days. The rabbits are absolutely healthy so I don't think its flees or mites. My dogs are also very healthy so I'm not sure if its contagious. I'm not sure what to do because I live in a rural area with no vets that take exotic pets. Any advice?? Please help somehow.

  • Which would a sheep prefer? ?

I want to raise Katahdin sheep to show and I have a barn but no where to keep my sheep. The fence is just boards that won't hold sheep and I could tie them up during the day but they probably won't like that. So should I tie them up or keep them indoors all the time. I would walk them if they were indoors and give them shelter if they are tied up. So which would a sheep perfer?

  • How can I maximize my rabbit litter size? ?

I have rabbits that I breed and sell for 4H and FFA. My rabbit usually only has 3-4 babies. I hear stories about people who have rabbits having 8 babies and my rabbit is producing less than half that. She is a full grown rabbit too. Average size mix breed. If I breed her with the buck more that day will it make her have a larger litter? Or is it just their genetic make-up?

  • What is wrong with my head? Its so confused?

I'm on my school dance team and when I go there their is a girl that i like and we'll say her name's "Ashlee". When I talk to Ashlee i think to myself. Man, she's beautiful and I want to date her. I often have fantasies about her also. Then the next minute i look across the room and I see this guy "Jimmy" and think to myself, he's sexy. I don't have fantasies about him though. But why do I think he is sexy. When I fantasies about people it sometimes men and sometimes women. So how do I know if I'm gay or straight. I sometimes think that bisexual is just greedy and confused gay people so I don't want to call myself that. Do all teens have these emotional and crazy thought or am I just different.

  • Should my son get circumcised? ?

Me and my girlfriend were talking today about our baby boy that's going to be born and we were talking about circumcising and not circumcising. I don't want him to get done and she does. What's the reason to get it done. I don't want to hear my baby crying because the doctors are circumcising him. My parents say they don't numb the penis when he is getting cut. Isn't that horrible. She says he will be picked on when he gets older but I don't think that other guys should be looking at his penis. If they do and say something about it, he can make fun of them and call them gay. (nothing against gay people)
