I have recently been pricked by a thorn, and by broken glass. Would leather insoles prevent this?

As they don't answer phone or email (but make a big ask for donations on their website) I wonder if they are genuine.

I have got into a situation where I give lifts home to several people after a weekly event we all go to. The problem is that they have come to rely on me (they are quite elderly) but sometimes I want to go to another event on that evening. I could call them and say "sorry I can't give you a lift this week", but this would mean that I am explicitly admitting an obligation to them (which I don't want to do), let alone feeling that I would have to explain where else I am going, etc. By the way they could afford to get taxis, which is how they get to the event in the first place.

I also feel that, if I once explicitly accept obligation to them, it might be suggested that I could pick them up on the way in, too, and this would be more difficult (time-wise) for me.

I have two ferrets that make my care of them easier because they groom each other. Are there any dog breeds that do this?

I bought one of these on the understanding that it is a mini-fridge. However, I'm told that it isn't. So how is it different (apart from, I guess, the cooler uses a lot more electricity)? Why not just put drinks in the household fridge to cool them?

If true, does the same apply to blending raw vegetables to add to soups?

I know this is because I have oily skin. Can I put something on the spectacles to keep them in place?

They used to have the same reputation as Rottweilers, but they are now seen as among the best of dogs. A name change was part of it (they are now called German Shepherds), but surely this was more than a PR exercise. How was it done? There must have been a concerted effort.
