  • 1st poem since he died, what do you think?

    The Ring

You wore it on your left hand from the moment I gave it to you

at the altar that rainy morning in September. " I'll never take it

off you whispered", and there it remained for the next 50 years.

Throughout the years, thru good times and bad the ring never

never left your finger. It was a strong signal of your commitment

to me first as a husband, then a father who took his promise

    and lived it faithfully.

Now feeling sad that you will no longer reach out for my hand,

or gently rub my neck, or ease the pain of missing you, I slowly

remove the ring from your cold finger remembering your last and

    final goodbye.

That ring meant more to you than anything else in the world because

it meant your undying love for us all. You held the kids and I tight to

your chest. You were so full of love for us, you never wavered, not

even when we pressed you to your limits.

Fly free my love, for you have earned your place in the Heavens

above. Fly free knowing that we will eternally miss your smiling face.

Fly free knowing that you have done what you came here to do and

you did it well. Rest in peace and fly free.

  • Does this seem ******** or what?

A doctor can drive a spike into the brain of a viable baby and suck his brains out (abortion) and some of our congressmen want the government to pay for it.

Yet, the same people in the government want to prosecute those that "faked" drowning (waterboarding) to get information.

DOES THIS EVEN MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANYONE???????

  • Do we need our President to be more like Australia?

Here is what the Prime Minister of Australia had to say to all the people in Australia. What say you?

America, Canada, all Europe ...... needs a President like this.

Prime Minister Kevin Rude - Australia

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Shari law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

    Quote:

"IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians."

"This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the Language!"

"Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture."

"We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us."

"This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE."

"If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted."

  • A fun little poem--nothing heavy.?

    Babies

Giggly, wiggly bundles of fun, that's what little babies are.

Just tickle their tummies and watch them explode,

they're the best things in life, by far.

Two little eyes and a cute button nose,

and dimples on chubby round cheeks.

Ready to play at the drop of a hat,

    even tho' sometimes---they leak!

Smelling like powder, fresh from a bath

cuddled and wrapped up just right.

Cute little babies in fuzzy pajamas,

angels put down for the night.

So, sleep little baby, you're safe and you're warm, angels are with you to stay.

They'll keep you safely, all through the night,

    for tomorrow's another new day.

  • looking for a certain kind of bug repellent.?

I bought some when I was in Upper Peninsula in Michigan a few years ago. It is a hard ball that is produced by a plant or tree. I can't remember what they call it. It's sold widely in grocery stores in the produce section in packages of about 4-5.

People use it to deter bugs in their cupboards and closets. Could anyone please tell me the name of it? Thanks in advance.

  • Senate passes Acorn funding ban?

I have the news on right now and this is what is being said:

The Senate passes Acorn funding ban in a 83-7 vote.

Now it goes to the house.

Brooklyn DA launches a criminal investigation into Acorn.

The 7 sentators that voted against the ban are:

    Leahey

    Durbin

    Casey

    Burris

    Gilldibrand

    Landes

    Whitehouse

Acorn has gotten more than 53 million dollars of taxpayer money! So far 3 videos have come to light with Acorn workers telling how to side step government rules to help a young couple (sting) set up a brothel with underage illegals from another country. These videos are from Boston, NY and I forgot the other state in the south. This is criminal and illlegal. Most news stations are not reporting this. We need to make sure no more taxpayer money goes to this organizationl.

  • A simple little poem--whatca' think?

    Uniquely Me

As I look upon the faces, of everyone I meet,

this thought comes quickly to my mind-- we all look different, we don't repeat.

And, as I've traveled round' the globe,

    from Spain to Germany,

no matter what the country is,

there is no one who looks like me.

Two eyes, two ears, one nose and mouth,

    I think that you'll agree,

we all should look the very same,

    instead I look--uniquely me.

  • What do you think of my new poem?

Is it too long and does it hold your interest?

    Come Dance with me

The first time that he saw her, his heart was set awhirl. She was dancing with another, a pretty green eyed girl.

The young man watched them for awhile, than stood to make his plea. With outstretched arms he looked at her, and said, "come, dance with me".

Mesmerized by grey/blue eyes, she rose and took his hand, and from that moment on--her life--would follow other plans.

They married soon and everyday, when he returned at three, he'd grab her waist and twirl her 'round and say "come dance with me".

Then children came and bills and work and harried days and nights. Yet, through it all, he'd always say, "come dance with me tonight".

He always had the magic, this strong amazing man, to soothe her fears and calm her soul, with loving outstretched hands.

Then one day, he asked no more, his voice was stilled by time. She's left with only memories, alone and past her prime.

With saddened heart, she'd clutch his shirt and twirl around the floor, pretending he was with her still, to dance with her once more.

The years rolled by--she made a life and lived as best she could. He promised he'd come back for her, one day she knew he would.

Now lying on her bed tonight, his outstretched hand appeared, again--the magic did it's work to soothe and calm her fears.

"it's time for you to come with me", (he whispered in her ear) "Iv'e missed you and I've waited --so long-- now here you are,---come,

take my hand, it's time to go, we'll dance among the stars".

  • what do you think of this poem?

    Here I Am

You think I'm gone cause you don't see me anymore.

I'm right here beside you, just like I was before.

I touch your face and brush your hand while you lay sleeping.

Do you know it's me, or are you simply dreaming?

I'm the bird that flutters by and the rainbow high above you.

I'm the pretty flowers standing in the field.

I'm the whisper of the breeze and the raindrops on your window.

Do you see me? Do you hear me? Yes, I'm real.

I am all around you, just look and you will see,

I'm not really gone from you at all.

Call my name and I'm beside you, to help and love and guide you, cause I am still your mother after all.

  • A random little poem. what do you think?

    Late Night Writing

It's the wee small hours, my eyes flutter open and words pop into my head. A phrase or a sentence, I cannot control them, so I lie here thinking instead.

I silently rise and wake no one, find my slippers and put on a gown. I fumble for pen and some paper, so I can write everything down.

The house is cool, dark and quiet--only small light filters in. I wrap up in a warm fuzzy blanket, take a deep breath, close my eyes and begin.

The words tumble out from the tip of my pen, flowing and rhyming with ease. Falling like rain on the paper, forming pictures and thoughts as I please.

I look at the clock, it says 5:25--I think that I'm done for the night. I creep back to bed and I silently enter, draw up covers and snuggle up tight.

When I arise in the morning and look down at what I've prepared, the words are all crooked and angled, but thoughts and ideas are there.

So, I string them together and write little poems, to amuse, entertain and delight. I never know when the words will start coming---maybe they'll show up tonight.

  • Did you see Kennedy's grandaughter giving the finger?

When the funeral cars were going to bury Ted, his grandaughter gave all the people standing along the curb the "finger". She thought the darkened glass in the car would hide it---it didn't and it was all caught on film.

Now, I ask you this---- Do you suppose she meant that for all those paying homage to her grampa? Does she look at them as fools? I think so. Why would she do that ?

Now we know what the so called "elite" really think of their loyal followers when they think no one is watching.

  • Why don't Californians prepare?

Californians should be made to build their homes as fire proof as they can. If they want to live in an area prone to these fires, then why should the rest of the country pay for them to rebuild the same structures? There are plenty of ways to build so the homes won't burn. It's not fair to the rest of the country to shoulder the expense.

I say, rebuild once and then let them pay out of their own pocket after that.

  • People leaving AARP in droves?

Yes, and they are going to American Seniors. They also offer insurance for seniors. I think AARP cooked their own goose.

They thought the word "seniors" meant---some one who sits on a bench and drools down their shirt. Obviously, they didn't realize that seniors aren't senile.
