  • Petguard Organic Cat Food substitute? Cat with lots of food allergies...need some help.?

So Petguard cannot keep up with the demand for its Organic Mature Dry Cat Food, which after many food trials, is the only dry food my cat seems to be able to eat without vomiting. I'm down to about a three week supply and have yet to be able to find anyone, including Petguard, that has food in stock. So, if you had a cat that was allergic to WHEAT, CORN, SOY, YEAST, BEEF, VENISON, DUCK, LACTOSE, PORK, and LAMB what would you feed it? I'm hoping someone else is in a similar situation and could recommend a different food so at least I have a starting point.

    Safe foods are:

    Chicken

    Oats

    Barley

    Flax Meal

    Brown Rice

    Carrots

    Spinach

    Potato

    Peas

    Quinoa

    Kelp

    Apple

Fish Oil in the food is OK but not a food with fish as a main protein...

Yes, the cat has seen a vet. No, there is nothing physically wrong with the cat causing it to vomit. Other than a sensitive digestive tract, the cat is healthy. Yes, the vet agrees the cat has food allergies. No, I did not do formal allergy testing as it is not in my budget, hence lots of food trials. Please do not tell me to take my cat to the vet; there is nothing she can do except give meds to try to soothe the cat's digestive tract when she gets into a vomiting pattern. The cat has been vomit-free, other than the rare hairball, for over five years; I'm dreading having to switch foods and start the cycle all over again.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm including links to the food I'm currently feeding and the only other one I can find that meets the criteria...if you've had good or bad experiences with the new food I'd love to hear it. And if you know of anything else that might work, please, please, please, let me know!

    Thanks!!!

I have five email accounts thru Hotmail and HATE having to sign in and out of each account daily. Please don't ask me why I have so many accounts...just let me know if you are having the same problem and if you were, if you found a solution. Thank you!

  • Alright all you Betta experts...?

Much to my surprise, I found a lovely Betta on my desk at work this morning. My boss bought it for his kid who had no interest in Betta. Betta was in a little jar; he's now in a 10 gallon aquarium. I have a very gentle filter in the tank and Betta has some gravel, a silk plant and a cave. I plan to redecorate but since Betta caught me by surprise and I wanted him out of the tiny jar ASAP, he got what didn't go in the goldfish tank when they got their upgrade.

Now here's my questions, from what I've read online Bettas are OK with PH ranging from 6.5 to 7.5; I know my goldfish are fine with acidic water but is 6.5 really OK for the Betta (our tap water PH is 6.5)?

Is 78 warm enough or would Betta prefer a little warmer?

Can I clean the Betta's tank the same way I do the goldfish leaving fish in the tank, 50% water change weekly and a good gravel vac or do I need to remove the Betta when I do the water change?

The aquarium Betta is in has a hood with light which I have on the same timer as the goldfish, on at 8am, off at 7pm...will Betta be happy with this? Does Betta even need a light?

Can I get an algae eater or two to live with Betta and if so, what do I get?

Sorry for so many questions but I'm getting a lot of conflicting info from various websites and I'd hate to kill the boss's Betta!

  • Wireless printing help?

OK, I have a wireless DSL modem/router that is currently connected to my desktop PC and two printers via ethernet. I did some rearranging to make room for the second printer, a large color laser printer, and now I have blue cables across my office. I don't like cables. I have a Belkin wireless router that's not being used. I would like to plug the two printers into the wireless router, thus eliminating the cables crossing my office, and have the Belkin router "talk" to the DSL modem wirelessly. I know it's doable but I'm not phrasing it well for Google and the Belkin website is useless so I guess I need some human help.

Moving the DSL modem/router to the side of the room the printers are on is not an option as there is only one phone jack in the room and as much as I love moving heavy furniture and equipment around, I'm not rearranging my office again! :-)

I'd like to avoid spending money on a separate wireless print server if I can use what I already have.

  • What kind of tropical fish should I put in my 10 gallon tank?

It's all ready to go. The (2) goldfish moved up to a 29 gallon tank and I don't know what to do with the 10 gallon tank sitting next to it. I was going to get 6 neon tetras but then thought maybe something more exciting would be fun. Person with the best idea for my tank gets the points!

  • Bolt pattern on rims?

Does anyone know if the bolt pattern on a 1986 Toyota Camry is the same as a 1996 Dodge Stratus? Both are 5 bolt and they use the same size tires but I was just told by Les Schwab "that doesn't mean they'll fit." They wanted me to bring the car and prospective rims in to look at. They're cheap rims off craigslist I want to get to have studded tires that were given to me free on for the winter. I'm not going to go buy the rims and drag them down to Les Schwab only to find out they're not going to fit. Thanks for your help!

  • Boa Boots, Old Mac Boots or Cavallo Boots?

Has anyone used these boots and if so, what were your experiences like and why were you using them?

Several years ago I bought back one of my horses and she came back to me with a coffin bone injury that didn't heal correctly (I had her x-rayed, it's not navicular). She's been a little gimpy barefoot and now she's noticeably lame. She's been barefoot the entire time I've had her back but now I'm not sure if I want to have shoes and pads put on her or if she'd benefit more from boots? She's not ridden, just out to pasture with her buddies. She's feeling good in our warm spring weather and has been running and playing with the other horses, hence why she moves like a complete cripple instead of just a gimp now.

She is on MSM & Glucosamine and is not over-weight. I'd like to stay away from my vet's suggestion of a gram of bute a day unless absolutely necessary.

    Thanks for your input!

  • How to remove the water pump on a 2001 Jeep Wrangler?

My brother needs to replace the water pump on his 2001 Jeep Wrangler. It is a 4.0L 6 cylinder, no A/C. Anyone know where he can find a step-by-step guide, or could provide one? Or which repair manual would be the best to purchase? Even if he could just get the order to remove things in to get to the water pump that would be great. Thanks!

  • My goldfish has a wart on her nose?

Appears to be a wart or a pimple like bump? Not really sure. I've seen Ich before and I don't think it's that. I have pictures I will try to post.

  • RS Saddlery Training Saddle or Rockin R Training Saddle?

Anyone out there ride in either a RS Saddlery Training Saddle or a Rockin R Training Saddle (with butterfly skirt)? Likes? Dislikes? Other saddle suggestions? I'm looking to buy a roughout saddle in the $700-$1000 price range. A couple of my friends have Tex Tan roughout saddles but I prefer the butterfly skirt over the cut out skirt for close contact. I really wanted a Bob's roughout but it's a little out of my price range at $2500 new and I can't seem to find any good used ones around. Thanks!

  • Feeding an "easy keeper" supplemental fat?

I recently acquired a horse from a relative that is an easy keeper. He was obese when he came to me and has been on a diet and slowly losing weight. He's fed excellent quality orchard grass hay, no grain, and a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. My other horses are "normal" and therefore get grain too. I feed Ultium to my show horses, which has a fairly high fat content so I don't feed any supplemental fat. Everyone has a soft, shiny coat except the "easy keeper." Before I found Ultium I was feeding Strategy (lower fat content) and using Select Nu-Image (soybean based) to supplement fat for a super haircoat. Never having a horse with weight issues I don't know which fats are safe for a fat horse. He's just a trail horse so it really doesn't matter if he's got a great coat, I just don't like the look of a dull coat on any of my horses. The only thing I can think lacking in his diet is fat. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Source for Petguard Organic Mature Cat Food?

Does any one else out there feed Petguard Organic Mature Cat Food? I'm having the hardest time finding a source for it. I've been buying it from petfooddirect.com by the case but it takes them so long to ship that as soon as my shipment arrives I have to order more; or they backorder and never bother to contact me. shopnatural.com was a great source but is not carrying the product anymore. Buying directly from Petguard runs about $3 more per bag then anywhere else that I can find. This food is so expensive as it is but it's the only food I've found that my siamese with irritable bowel can tolerate. Any ideas where I can find this and not pay astronomical shipping costs?

Please don't answer eBay or the pet food store; if somewhere local, or a chain store (Petsmart, Petco, etc.) carried it or could order it in for me do you think I'd be asking this question?

    Thank-you

  • stretch marks?

I'm in my early 20's, never pregnant, not overweight or had my weight fluctuate much but I have what I can only imagine are stretch marks on upper thighs and buttocks. They are not just marks on the skin but actually indented about 1/8-1/4 inch and range from 1/2 inch to 3 inches long and about 1/4 inch wide. Are these stretch marks? Is there anything to make them go away? My mother thinks they're caused by the fact that I've been riding horses daily since I was seven and I really don't think thats right! I first noticed them about three years ago but it seems like a silly problem to go to the doctor about when you don't have medical insurance. If I'm not sick I'm not wasting $100+! :-) Thanks!

  • Where can I find cheap Cruel Girl jeans?

I've looked on ebay but my size is not listed very often...I'm looking for low rise, slim fit, size 3 long. I'm fine with the Georgia jeans but don't want anything with a flare leg, boot cut is fine though. I love my Cruel Girl jeans but I'm not paying upwards of $50 for a pair of jeans to wear at the barn!

  • What is the best drain cleaner for hair clogs?

I'd love to put a screen over the drain hole in my shower but the drain stopper is not removable (believe me, I've tried!). Other than snaking the drain, what is the best way to clean the drain of clogged hair?

  • How much does it cost for a pilot light to stay on in gas fireplace?

I just moved into an apartment that has a gas hot water heater and a "decorative" gas fireplace. All the other appliances are electric, including the main heating system. The fireplace doesn't work well for heating purposes and since it's approaching the warmer summer months I wonder if I should have the pilot light shut off to save money? How much gas does just having the pilot light use?
