She has not been able to give me enough work for quite some time so I am transitioning from a full time employee to a contract employee which is fine with me. Since she lost a big contract in June she has only been able to give me 5-7 hr/week. I feel like she has been doing things the past few month trying to get me to just quit. She dropped my health insurance without telling me right before I was scheduled for surgery, won't release my most recent paycheck until I sign the new contract, which HAS to be illegal. I just feel she wants me to quit and I have a coworker who is going through the same and feels it too. Is there a reason she might be better off if I quit rather than her letting me go?

For two days my air conditioner would run but not cool the house. Then, all of a sudden, it started working properly again. I had already scheduled a company to come out and take a look so I figured I'd see what they had to say and have it serviced. The unit is 17 years old. The tech came out and looked at the unit for 3 minutes and came in and said I need a new compresor fan motor which will cost about $300. I'm a single woman and leary of being duped because of my lack of knowledge about these things. Can anyone tell me if this sounds legit and if that's typical pricing? Thanks!

My son is 8 years old and a holy terror. He's the most annoying person I've ever met. He's ADHD and when he's on his meds he's ok, but as soon as they wear off he's a little devil. I feel like a horrible mother because most days I wish I'd never had him, which is really sad because all I ever wanted was to me a mother. My other 2 children are well behaved, do great in school and try to get along with each other. My son goes out of his way to annoy everyone and is very defiant. I have tried positive reinforcement as well as punishment, but nothing works for this kid. I do love him, but I don't like him or enjoy his company at all. I don't think it's just a phase because this has been an issue most of his life. What can I do?

I work for a home care agency providing services for 5-8 patients a day. The city I work in is having a huge bed bug problem. I want to do everything I can to prevent bringing bed bugs to my home or infesting other patient's homes. I avoid sitting, which is hard because I like sitting down and talking to my patients. Is there something I can spray on my shoes to repel the bugs so they don't hitch a ride with me? Any other advice for prevention would be appreciated. Thanks!
