I am a shy person, a typical introvert and my Phd advisor called me it comes across as stand offish, arrogant. She told me have a persona so that I can act confident. This made me feel so insecure. My response was thank you for your suggestion, maybe I should. This made me feel so inferior. I don't want to act like someone else just for the sake of being seen nice. I am a nice person if people invest sometime to get to know me.. Just want to be who I am. What would have been a better response?

I understand it is not logical to start after quitting for so long but I want to. I tried drinking warm tea, exercising heavily, watching movies to take my mind of it but not feeling so strong.. What to do?

It was my 3rd lesson. Horse spooked, when the farm dog entered the practice area and got a bucket and threw it, right after that the horse threw me, while the teacher was holding her. I have some injuries such as back pain, serious shoulder/ neck pain and sore hips. My friends tell me to sue because the teacher was negligent, that she should have removed anything unfamiliar from the practice area as you are a beginner. After I got up I wanted to ride the horse again and I did (although, it was very difficult for me I wanted to cry, I guess because I was shocked). I scheduled another lesson but when I got home I started to replay what happened over and over again and now I am so scared to go and take more lessons even get on to the horse. My question is do you think I should sue them? Do you think I have a right to do that? I don't know just help me please. I don't want anyone to go through this psychological trauma and get afraid of riding like I do :(( Suggestions please. Thanks

We are three close friends. 2 of us bought something (a special and expensive fruit from Europe, we bought approximately 6 pounds) together and discussed to divide it equally to 3 parts. However, today I learned that she goes behind my back and tells our other friend ( like a surprise) that she thought of her and got this for her. I am so pissed, what should I do? I visited an optometrist yesterday and the optician that this optometrist is affiliated tries to sell me glasses. In fact it is quite expensive and I want to check the prices at other places too. Can I get my prescription from there and take it to somewhere else?

Another question, my eyes got 0.25 worse since my last exam but I want to purchase the same lenses that I am using now. Because, I just got bored of seeing my prescription eye numbers got worse and I feel I am happy with my current glasses. How should I tell my optometrist?

I am planning to go to NYC for new years eve but hotels in NYC are extremely expensive. I am planning to stay in a hotel in New jersey, about 25 min far from Manhattan in a normal day. I wonder how the traffic will be on New years night. Any suggestions, ideas? Should I go there? Is staying in New Jersey too much suffering for having fun in Manhattan?

My RAV4 1998 L, does not start in the rain. I searched for it and took it to a mechanic. I was told (and I read) that the spark plugs and wires need to be replaced. I said OK. My mechanic changed it and now it does not start at all. I was told that it might be the ignition coil.

I cannot try to find the problem myself as I do not have a backup car and cannot afford "not finding the problem for a while".

The cost keeps going up. Any similar experience? Any suggestion?

My mechanic asks for$ 120-150 for spark plug and wire replacement of my rav4. Is it fair or is it too expensive?

When the capital management showed me the apartment they showed the reserved parking area, which is indoor and safe. After I rented the apartment and request a reserved parking spot, I was told that there is a waiting list. I asked them to add me to the waiting list and let me know when a spot is available. Although they did not promise a spot on the lease, they showed and told that there is a reserved parking spot in the building. Can I legally do anything to expedite them to give me a spot in the parking area? I really need that indoor spot.
