  • Laptop charger problems?

I've had a Lenovo laptop for a few years and just recently the charger has been a little dodgy. I'm pretty sure the problem is where the charger connects with the laptop because the adapter light is turned on.

What happens is that it will suddenly stop charging, then I wriggle the lead (not the connection, just the lead) around a little and it goes on and off for a bit and then keep working.

I have dropped the laptop a few times while charging it (it's only fallen less than a metre onto soft carpet) but I was thinking this might have something to do with it. I don't really want to have to buy a new charger because the decent ones are fairly expensive.

Any ideas on what I can do?

  • Games for swimming lessons?

I teach swimming one-on-one with students from two to six. The pool is too deep for them to stand up, and most of them can't swim by themselves. Does anyone have any ideas for some games that incorporate no skills?

  • Why doesn't the Doctor (Doctor Who) go back to Gallifrey?

I know the Time War is time-locked so he can't go back during the war, and he probably can't go back during the time he lived there (personal timeline stuff), but why doesn't he go back to beforehand? If only to see the silver leaves and orange sky of his home planet...

I've only watched up to series four of Doctor Who, so if the answer is given after that just say spoiler.

    Thanks in advance.

  • My cat would rather sit on books/plastic than on shag carpet? Why?

It's not because I'm reading the books either but if they're on the carpet she'd rather sit on that. I can't see how it could be more comfortable. It's weird because she'd rather sit on a soft blanket on a couch rather than directly on the leather.

  • Criticisms on my blog?

    My blog is at mandarox.wordpress.com

It mainly has reviews on books, TV shows and movies but soon I will be posting a rant on the benefits of books over eBooks.

Any constructive criticism would be much appreciated :)

  • What's your favourite scene from BBC Sherlock?

From either season or the unaired pilot. Feel free to say more than one if you like and quotes would be good.

  • Laptop performance issues?

I have a Lenovo laptop with 4gb of RAM and an intel core and yet it glitches a lot when I play games on it such as Minecraft and Magicka. My laptop exceeds the specifications of these games.

There is 50gb of space left on the hard drive and I've checked it for viruses and spyware. What could be the reason that it's glitching?

  • No coconut rum ball recipe?

I want to make rum balls with this recipe but I don't have any coconut. What can I replace it with?

    Ingredients:

    2 cups icing sugar

    ½ cup plain flour, sifted

    ½ cup cocoa

    1 cup coconut

    1 cup sultanas

    125 g melted butter

    2 tablespoons sherry or port

    2 teaspoons vanilla

    Method:

Mix the first five ingredients together in a large bowl.

Add the next three ingredients and stir well.

Make small balls the size of a rounded teaspoon and roll in coconut.

    Keep refrigerated.

    Thanks

  • I'm worried about cutting my hair short?

When I was younger my mum would force me to have above shoulder-length hair. Now, it's longer but I'm thinking of cutting it shoulder-length but I'm really worried about how it would look.

My hair is thick and slightly frizzy, curly if I don't comb it and wavy if I do. What would it look like shorter? Links would be helpful.

My hair is different to what it was when I was younger.

  • How did you become a Christian?

What's your story? I'd prefer long answers.

  • Why do people make assumptions on how a person became Christian?

For example, they usually thinks that it's because they've: been brainwashed, were afraid of dying, saw nature and thought that a greater being must have created it etc. When very few people actually do.

Also, if you're a Christian, how did you become one?

  • Why can't some people write the word "God"?

I've seen some answerers on Y!A who write G** etc. instead of writing God's name. I've also heard of R.E. teachers who don't write God's name because they'll have to rub it off. Why is this?

  • Why does the word 'religious' turn people off?

Like when you say that a book or movie is religious some people automatically think it's bad and won't read/watch it. Or if a person irreligious people automatically don't like them.

  • Question to atheists?

If we are just like animals, then what's stopping people from killing others just like we do to animals? Why should we respect a fellow person any more than an animal?

  • Do people really think Hell would be fun?

    Boredom; in heaven:never, on earth:sometimes, in hell:always.

Do people really believe that it will be one big party with all of the 'fun people' as opposed to what it really is; an eternity alone?

Atheists can answer too, but I'd rather an answer that isn't "hell doesn't exist".
