  • What are some nice apartments to live in around the Ashburn, VA area?

I'm moving to Ashburn, VA soon for a job I accepted before graduation. I'll be travelling up to Ashburn to look for apartments soon and I need some ideas for leads.

Are there any good apartment complexes in the Ashburn, VA area you can recommend for a young professional? I'm looking for a relatively short commute to my workplace close to this address: 43805 Central Station Dr, Ashburn, VA 20147.

A quiet neighborhood is preferable. A direct access garage would be cool, but not required. I'm expecting to pay around $1,500 a month but no more than $1,650 a month.

In your answers, please justify yourself.

I appreciate the time you take to answer me!

  • Looking for name of a talented independent Asian artist who does all the sounds effects himself?

I don't remember his name, but there's a video of him playing in a radio station in (I believe) Washington State. He usually produces all the sound effects for his songs by himself, recording loops and then replaying them for the duration of the song even during live performances. However at this particular radio station, Zach Galifinakis (spelling?) and a lady were there with him on stage playing on some instruments.

He's pretty unique but if I had to compare him to another artist, I would probably liken him to Mika... kinda?

I really want to hear this song again.. please help me out! Thanks!

  • Does anyone know the comic about the guy who wants to pursue his dream?

Basically, there's this motivational (or de-motivational depending on how you look at it) comic about this guy that gets fed up with his job and he dumps his wife, quits his job, moves into an apartment and buys an iMac, painting stuff, etc because he thinks all these things were stopping him from pursuing his dream. Then the comic shows him months later and all his stuff is unused while he sits on the sofa and watches TV. The moral of the comic is that if he really had a burning desire to create, he would create no matter the circumstances or consequences.

    Thanks for your help!

  • What will I do before going to Navy Diver school?

    Quick intro:

21 year old male here, in college with 67 semester hours after this semester. I took scuba diving this semester and just completed my certification dive for my open water cert on the weekend of Nov. 23rd and I absolutely loved it. I want to make diving a career as I really can't see myself sitting at a desk all my life.

What I really want to do is join the US Navy and be a ND or be an AIRR as a secondary option. I understand that doing either of these requires a selective selection process before starting training, but I have one lingering question: What would I do before being accepted into these schools? I would be full time active duty, by the way.

Thanks for your time! If you need anymore info from me (besides my SSN) to give me a better answer, just ask.

  • Contract replacement within the Navy?

I am joining the US Navy soon and I am trying to get some answers. I've already asked the recruiter about a lot of this, but he's also trying to fill up his Nuclear Engineering spots and his spec ops spots so I have a feeling he might just be telling me what I want to hear...

I want to be an Air Rescue Swimmer. I started swimming when I was 2 years old and when I was 3, I could swim better than I could walk and I grew up with a pool in my back yard. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I let myself get out of shape over the passed 5 years but I'm getting back into the groove of working out and I've been catching up very quickly. I'm up to 55 push-ups in 2 mins, 72 situps in 2 mins, 1.5 miles in 12 mins, and I can do about 5-6 dead hang pullups (about 12 chin-ups). I scored about a 91 on my practice ASVAB which I know is irrelevant.

My recruiter wants to get me in to finish my paperwork and do my PST next week, so I have little time to prepare.

If my instructors don't think I'm fit to be in spec ops, will I be able to go into another job and then once my PT scores get up to around 80 push ups, 90 sit ups, 10 minute 1.5 mile, and 15 pull ups, my current contract will be canceled and replaced with a new spec-ops contract?

    Thanks!

Well, my recruiter was explaining to me that AIRR has almost the same physical PST requirements as the navy, and he was saying that there are several different jobs within the special operations field.. like this:

    http://www.navy.com/careers/special-operations.htm...

He told me that if I was qualified to go in as a Nuclear Engineer and then all of a sudden I've got fantastic PT scores, they would bring me in as an AIRR instead of a nuclear engineer because the AIRR contract takes precedence over the nuclear engineering contract.

  • Is it feasible to use bleach to whiten a shirt that is normally tan?

I want a white work shirt, like the Carhartt twill work shirt, but they only have tan, gray, and navy colors. Is it feasible to use bleach to whiten the shirt or will it never become truly white? Should I just order a white work shirt from Dickies instead?

    Thanks.

  • How many triangles are there that satisfy the conditions a = 4, b = 5, A = 73°?

I'm not sure how I would isolate the possible triangles, but I have a feeling that it will involve the use of the Law of Sines. Would someone please give me some pointers?

    Thanks!

I don't know how to isolate the possibilities, but I think it has something to do with the Law of Sines. Could anyone give me some pointers?

  • If f(x) = 1/(x+2) and g(x) = 3x, find (f-g)(x).. how do I subtract these?

    f(x) = 1/(x+2)

    g(x) = 3x

    So, what is (f-g)(x)?

Please help me understand how to subtract these two functions... it's confusing me!

  • Does bullying occur in military boot camp i.e. Coast Guard?

I don't mind hazing (jokes played on new recruits) but I hate bullying.

So, does bullying occur in military boot camp? I'm concerned because I'm 5' 5 1/2" tall and a ginger, which will probably make me susceptible to bullying.

Thanks for your answers and your time.

  • How can I prevent myself from having an erection in a public shower?

I'm gay and I'm going to be entering the Coast Guard soon. I've learned that I'll have to take showers in a public shower with the other guys. I don't like it, but of course I won't be able to have my own shower to myself. I'm scared to death that I'll get an erection while I'm in the shower, which might cause me to get investigated for homosexuality, and then I might be labeled as an "Open Homosexual". If I'm an "Open Homosexual", I won't be allowed to serve in the military ever again.

Please help me, I don't know of anything else that I'd rather do...

  • How much is the fine for having an expired license plate sticker?

I was pulled outside of Augusta, Georgia for having an expired license plate. I got the car in the fall, and my birthday is in January, so that's apparently when my tags expired. I was not expecting my tags to only last 3 months before I had to pay for renewal again, as I am a new and inexperienced driver. The policeman told me that I would have to find out the price of the fee from some organization in South Carolina, since I reside there. As I have no idea what that organization is, I decided to search for them on the internet and have had no luck. Does anyone know who I should contact or what the fine usually is for this sort of thing? Or should I just go to court and hope they dismiss the fine?

    Thanks.

  • What Rod/line weight would I use in the Rocky Mountains?

I'm visiting Rocky Mountain Nation Park in Colorado during the winter, and I want to know if the fish will even be there during the winter. If so, what weight rod and line would I bring? I'm leaning towards 6, but I don't know for certain.

  • I need to know of a good anti-depressant for young men (18 y/o)?

I've just come to the realization 5 minutes ago (after reading up on symptoms of depression in young adults and teenagers) that I'm depressed, and I have been depressed for about 4 years now without any kind of treatment at all, and so I've finally decided to act on it.

I'm not in a spectacular financial situation at the moment, especially since I'm saving up to go to college, so I would prefer that the medication be somewhat inexpensive (comparably).

  • Where can I find high quality waterproof ski pants?

I'm going to be camping in the rocky mountains quite a lot this winter, so I need some high quality waterproof ski pants. I can spend anywhere from $50 to $200 on these pants, so don't be afraid to name some top notch brands. Here are some specs I'm looking for:

    1) Belt loops

    2) Pockets (doesn't need to be cargo style pants)

    3) Tough material to be somewhat tear resistant

    4) Waterproof (gore tex or similar)

    5) I'll have base layers on, but it would be nice if the pants had a bit of insulation as well.

    6) Must be available in subtle colors like olive drab, black, tan, brown, etc. No flashy colors like neon green please!

Please provide product links or the names of the product.
