I bought a n '04 Heritage Softail. The filter looks like it's made like a K&N. Can I clean it the same way?
2 AnswersMotorcycles8 years agoIs our dog insecure and...?
We got "Chance" from a shelter about three months ago. He's a two year old Shepard- Border Collie mix. He's a really cool dog, loves to play ,go for rides and walks. My wife thinks he is insecure because he follows us around the house. If I get up to go to the bathroom he waits by the door until I'm finished. He'll follow us around the house whenever one of us gets up. She wants to get him a Thunder thing to wrap around him but I'm not sure about that. Also do I play with him to much? I'm a 56 yo kid and I play tug of war and keep away with him quite abit. He'll walk up to me with a pull toy set it in my lap. Well now let the games begin! But I'm just wondering if you can play with a dog to much.

Looking for a good way to talk to my girl when we're on the bike. Two cans and a string doesn't work to well. We both wear full face helmets and me being half deaf have a hard time hearing her when she screams!!

1 AnswerMotorcycles1 decade agoWhat's the best chain for motorcycles?
The guys at the bike shop said I need a new chain. I've only got 18000 miles on this one. What would be the best chain for a 08 Triumph Bonneville? I'ld ask the guys at the shop but they may have a store brand they'll try to sell me.
5 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoHow's this for irony?
My fuel tap jammed on me a while back. I was in traffic and had to pull off the road and put both hands on it to switch it to reserve. It got replaced under warranty. About six months later it's developing the same problem. Went back to the dealer to ask WTF, they looked puzzled shrugged and said IDK. Same thing the Triumph rep did. since the tap was made by Mikuni, I went next door to the Honda dealer to see if maybe a tap from a Honda, or a Kawasaki would fit.To my surprise both the mechanics ride Triumphs. I was given some good insight as to the cause of the problem. Kirk printed out a page with a better aftermarket tap, with stainless steel filters instead of plastic. And it was about $30 cheaper. Rock and Roll Keep the rubber side down. The Irony is no one at the place where I bought my bike rides a Triumph they ride Harley's,
1 AnswerMotorcycles1 decade agoddrum Know any good bass players?
.I've hooked up with a killer guitar player. He's a psycho like me. We're looking for an uninhibited bass man that can go from Merle Haggard to Black Sabbath to SRV. For the rest of you I know this is a forum about bikes, but this is the only way I know to reach him. So any way how many miles did you ride your bike this beautiful weekend. It was warm and sunny here in NC I don't think there was a bike sitting in any garage? I put 300 miles on mine. Rock and Roll
2 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoNeed some insight on a road trip.?
I'm planning a road trip around the end of July. I'm going to Colorado to visit some old army buddies. Map quest says it''s 1700 miles and should take around 26 hours. I plan on taking 2 days riding about 13 hours a day. I have plenty of time. I have an 08 Bonneville and will have the bike serviced and new tires put on. I've got 8000 miles on them now. My main concern is the half way point is St. Louis. I'm from small town NC, Drove through there years back and was traumatized by the incident.LOL I do a fair amount of camping and know how to pack for an outing. I've been riding for 20 years but this will be the longest endeavor on a bike. Any thoughts on where to stay? I've done several road trips in a car where I just pulled over and crashed when I started seeing double. I'm also thinking of carrying an extra gallon of gas. But I'm not sure if that's a good idea. Tell me where you live and I'll wave when I ride by. Rock n Roll
5 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoBars for Triumph Bonneville?
I have an 08 Bonney and have seen pictures of bars that hook to the shock mount and possibly rear foot peg to keep saddlebags out of the rear wheel. I have River Bend bags that are a bit bigger than the bags Triumph has. Any links would be great. I've typed a few places but can't find what I'm looking for.
2 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoDo people ride custom choppers?
I was at the bike shop yesterday and they had some beautiful customs. Once a month I might come across another Triumph rider Of course Harley's are plentiful as are sport bikes. But I can't recall the last time I saw someone riding a custom chopper. Are these bikes built for show or go. The guy at the bike shop says they are a bit unyielding when it comes to turning. And talk about high priced butt jewelery! Are these bikes just to pretty to ride? Rock n Roll
10 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoHarley or honda fury?
I was at the bike shop when I heard a fellow rider say something about rain and motorcycles. I asked him if he was referring to the mcdickless commercial all the bart clones and bart wanna be's were getting a woody over? He said yeah. I said the bike looks more like an American Iron Horse Custom. He said he was thinking Big Dog Because it kinda looked like like the one he was riding. So what do you think guys Harley or honda fury?? Rock n Roll
7 AnswersMotorcycles1 decade agoFor dog lovers where can I find a poop disposal?
I saw a device in which you bury in the ground put the poop in it add enzymes and the stuff dissolves into the ground. I saw this a few years back. I'm getting a rescued dog and would like to find one of these.
8 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhat is the clanging sound the motor makes?
I bought a 95 600 shadow. The guy I bought it from used it in burn out pits, he said the carbs need to be rebuilt. I got it to fire up at idle it makes a clanging sound like a fire alarm bell. when i give it gas it dies. If I shoot ether down the front intake it will rev up. Did it drop a valve? what could be the problem(s). I'm thinking about making it into to a bobber depending on how much it costs to get the motor fixed.
1 AnswerMotorcycles1 decade agoWould the big mean Harley bikers beat me up if I rode my Triumph Bonneville to the bar my band is playing at?
My band is playing at a fund raiser and we plan on setting up in the afternoon. It's supposed to be a nice day and I would like to ride my bike there. then go for a cruise after the sound check. They are doing a Poker run(whatever that is) so there will be a lot of bikers coming and going all day. So will they beat me up and kick over my bike or will they take pity on me because I'm just a dumbass drummer? Plus I'm just a geek will the biker chicks spit on me and call me names. And will they cut off my tattoo like some sidewalk commandos told me they would, because it has a Battle Flag, skull and crossbones, and airborne wings, with the word Outlaw over it?
