  • Carbon monoxide detector keeps beeping?

My carbon monoxide detector began beeping very quickly, and then, kept going in one nonstop beep until I took the batteries out. On the label, it says that if there's a carbon monoxide problem, it beeps four times with five second breaks after each four beeps. None of the other detectors are beeping. All my windows are open, and the stove isn't on. I don't have a car. Am I in any danger?

  • Is this normal after receiving Gardasil?

Yesterday, I received my third shot of Gardasil and after the shot, I felt lightheaded and had severe pain at the injection site in addition to pain in my neck and shoulders. I felt dizzy for about an hour after and then, most of my symptoms went away except for shoulder pain. This morning when I woke up, all of the symptoms have come back and they've gotten worse. I have muscle pain in my shoulders, back, chest, legs, and arms and I feel weak, nauseous, and dizzy. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

I'm planning to audition for the part of Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank. Does anyone have any monologue recommendations for what I should read? Can I read an excerpt from the play or is that bad? Thanks for the help!

  • Did I break my foot or is it a minor injury?

I was running up a step and my foot twisted inward, causing me to trip on it. When it happened, I heard a cracking noise and then, my foot started burning where I hit it. It is still burning and my ankle hurts too. I've never broken my bone before, but I heard that the pain is intense when you do. I'm not sure if it's broken because it really hurts, but not what I would call intense pain. Probably about 7 on a scale of 1-10. I don't want to ask anyone to take me to the ER for something minor, so can anyone say if they think it's broken or just sprained or something?

  • Constant hunger and other symptoms?

I have a doctor's appointment in a week, but I wondered if anyone had any idea what is going on with me. I am always feeling hungry, even after I eat. It's not an extreme hunger, just a feeling like I need to eat. I'm also more tired than usual, have bouts of dizziness, and am a little shaky. I've been pretty stressed lately, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Any ideas?

  • How can I make my eyebrows thicker?

I overplucked my eyebrows a little bit and now, they're a bit thinner than I'd like. Also, a little bit shorter. How can I make them grow back without looking unruly in the process?

  • Am I being selfish or do I have a right to be angry?

So tomorrow is my birthday and my family is being extremely frustrating. For weeks, I've been thinking of plans for my birthday and taking their opinions into account, and they've been fine with it until i was about to make dinner reservations. I wanted to go to my favorite restaurant for dinner after spending the day at the beach, but all of a sudden my parents are refusing to go because they don't like the food there, want to invite their friends (who i'm not very fond of), and would rather just have dinner at the house. I find it frustrating because one, I've offered to pay for it and two, it's my birthday and not theirs. On top of it all, my mother has been ignoring me for the past week because i didn't do the dishes one time. I really wanted to spend my birthday with my family, but now, I don't think we're even going to go anywhere because everyone is so hostile. Am I being selfish or do I have a right to be angry with them?

ps. Sorry it was so long!

  • How should I study for World History SATII?

I know it's early, but I'd like to get ahead of the game and use my free time in the summer to study. The problem is, I'm not sure exactly how to study for such a broad subject. I've looked over the college board explanation, but it's not all that helpful. Can anyone who has taken this test enlighten me on what and how I should study? I'm shooting for at least a 760.

  • My eyes feel really dry lately?

Lately, my eyes have been burning and I've been blinking a lot. I don't know why, because I've never really had eye issues, apart from vision. I am always tearing up and it's really bugging me. I'm going to see my optometrist soon, but he can't schedule me in for another week. Does anyone know what's behind this and how I can fix it?

  • I want to learn how to fight?

I'm a teenage girl and I really want to learn how to fight well, like martial arts and all that. However, the only places in my area are the americanized martial arts, which don't really teach you to fight as well as the real deal. Any advice on how to find a teacher or how to fight better?

  • Why is it right to respect your elders?

People always say to respect your elders, but I don't understand why when elders are quite disrespectful to younger people. Shouldn't everyone respect each other instead of just people who've lived longer?

  • Am I right or am I out of line?

So, my mom recently got fired from her job but now instead of finding a new one she wants to live on unemployment for a few months. her salary was pretty high before, so she'd get half of that. it would be enough to pay the bills and buy necessities, but nothing else really. I told her that i think it's irresponsible of her to make my brother and I adjust to a completely different lifestyle because she doesn't feel like working, and also, her not having a job makes me feel really nervous because it's all so uncertain. besides that, i don't like the idea of people who can work, but choose not to living on government money because i am completely against that. she, however, says that i'm being selfish and that i don't care about her at all. she also says that it's disrespectful of me to say stuff like that at all because i should appreciate what she does for us to begin with. i'm 16 years old btw.

So am I right or am I wrong?

  • Is this fiction or nonfiction?

Okay, so I wrote a short story for a regional writing contest but I don't know whether to enter it as fiction or creative nonfiction. The story is about a girl's struggle with anorexia, but it focuses more on a real struggle with anorexia than with the girl, and does not include any specific events. Basically, the only fiction involved is the girl herself because I made her up and the hospital setting. The rest is a real struggle of an anorexic. So what category should I enter it in? Please help!

  • How do I strengthen my wrists?

I do gymnastics but lately, I've felt a lot of pressure on my wrists. Sometimes, I even get scared to do moves because I feel like my wrists will collapse. I've always had bad joints but it's really becoming a problem because at the end of practice, I can't even do a roundoff without feeling wrist pain. Are there any exercises that can help?
