  • Moving alone with no support and difficult family?

Hi, I posted this question in the wrong section earlier. I just turned 26 years old and am really miserable, depressed. I grew up with an alcoholic father and really angry bitter mother which caused a lot of dysfunction. My sister became mentally ill because of all the stress, my brother got into a lot of trouble when he was younger. I just stayed quiet and tried to be good. They don't speak English and relied on my on paying bills, translating, and etc. I worked and went to school fulltime and managed my parents finances along with my own. My dad stopped working and went on disability my mom was already on disability and my brother was not working. I had enough I took a semester away all the while my mom would put financial pressure on me. I came back with no intention to stay and go an internship that turned into a job with my own apartment but that wasn't good enough for my parents and I didn't like my boss so I moved back to help them and try to find something better. As soon as I moved back I realized why I left I moved out of state again while trying to "make it" on my own and handling all of their financial obligations. Then they taught my dad had lung cancer so I moved back to help them again and take him to the doctor's and etc. because he didn't want to go, turned out to be nothing. I'm in a job I hate, my mom puts me down, and now I'm financially strained. I don't know what to do I'm so miserable. I started seeing a therapist she says my mom is emotionally abusive she insults me, any friendships I've had, lists my failures, and put her financial and marriage problems on me.I have no where to go no sympathy or support from my sister or brother. I want to move but I feel so alone and I don't know if I could do it again I'm so emotionally drained.

  • Your thoughts on me moving and taking grad courses as unclassified grad student before getting accepted?

I really want to move and live in this city and will apply to a graduate program for 2014 spring. They said I could take courses as an unclassified grad student but there's no saying I will get in. I'm worried if I move there and don't get accepted what will I do?

  • Was I wrong not to say hi?

Just so this story makes more sense İm on a holiday in Turkey. My friend and I met these three guys while checking out the city on vacation. My friend ıs marriedö I'm not and they were stil gentlemen. Took us out for drinks and paid without being weird or coming on to us. Anyway it was a fun night and one of them asked me if I want to hang out with them again I said sure. Well we left they gave us their names so we find them on facebook but theyre Turkish and we cant fınd them because there are no pictures and there are so many of them with the same name. Well İ went back to the cafe and İ saw one of the guys that I think is cute and have a little crush on and İ met two guys from my home country so we sat and talked and İ saw the cute guy. İt was an empty cafe and he sat right across from us by himself. When İ noticed him he didnt look up so İ couldn't say hı and İ wasn't sure that İ remembered his name correctly. Anyway' he left and now İm wondering if İ should have said hı or if he mıght think İ was rude for not saying hi after they were so nice to us the night before?

  • I need some love, feeling down and out?

I've been trying to think positive about my life. I'm starting a good job tomorrow that provides housing and utilities. But I feel really empty inside. We had an earthquake here last week and only my mom called me to see how I was. I live on my own. I've tried to be a good friend to people, but apparently not good enough to call and see if I'm okay :( My life is meaningless I'm tired of trying to convince myself otherwise.

  • First date was great awesome guy, but no chemistry?

It's hard to meet a decent guy these days and I met this guy super nice and we had a great conversation and great night overall, but I felt no attraction to him. He's not ugly, but I don't know no sparks. He's shorter then me which I don't like, but since he has a great personality I wouldn't mind the height, but why don't I have any attraction to him? The guys I"m attracted to are not the good and decent guys and so I meet this one and nothing, no fair!

  • How to say no in a nice way?

So here's the deal I don't like carrying a purse or anything so I don't and I went to hang out with a friend and she bought herself some food and is like carry this you're not carrying anything b/c she had a purse. I carried it but I felt so dumb like why should I carry her stuff? How could have I said in a nice way no.

  • How do you deal with a bossy friend?

I tend to be way too sensitive and I want to your opinion on these scenarios I had with my friend.

    1. She came over after hanging out and it was late I was tired and she's like walk me to the subway I'm like I'm tired and she just stood there like why won't you walk me to the subway and so I gave in and did.

    2. We hung out today I hate carrying things so I don't carry a purse, but she has a purse and she gets something from panera bread and she's like carry this you don't have anything to carry and I"m like yeah by purpose. So I carried her back and I resented it. LIke wtf carry your on s***! Sorry but it just irritated me.

Anyways she's a cool person, fun to hang around with and stuff,, but stuff like this goes on my nerves. I"m a quiet person and I feel sometimes I get stepped on because I won't say stuff, but we're new friends and I don't want her to keep doing this. What should I say or do?

  • Would it be wrong for me to take two days off work in a row?

I fainted this morning and hit my head pretty bad so it bled a little, but no stitches. I was hospitalized for a few hours and told by the doctor to rest. My boss let me take the rest of the day off and e-mailed me saying I can take tomorrow off as well and that he insisted. But I am on an internship and I feel bad and I don't want him to think I"m slacking off, but I"m not sure how I will feel tomorrow hopefully better but I don't know. Today the whole day after my fainting incident I've had nausea and have been getting dizzy but luckily didn't faith because I was in bed. What do I do?
