I'm suppose to tell my parents I've been seeing the school counselor?
I can't make myself do it, would writing a letter to them work just as well? They tell me that I need too.
Since someone will wonder here's the story behind it all:
I'm 18, senior in high school. So, a few weeks ago they made me see the school therapist because of "concerns from my teachers/peers". They think I have something like SPD, Schizotypal personality disorder, or schizophrenia. I guess I fall into the "paranoid" category mostly. I've been very panicky/paranoid, to the point where the most I've slept through a night lately is about 4-5 hours. I feel like I'm being watched or followed a lot and have never really noticed until recently that I go out of my way a lot at school to take different stair wells and stuff. I carry a knife alot too which they say probably goes along with paranoia. (Ive never used it, never will, I don't even know why it's there). Then some of the social problems. I don't respond to other people, lack emotions, the flat effect thing, and whatever else they told me fit along with that. I guess that's why a letter would be easier for me to do. I sit in my room and seriously will find my self just staring at a wall for like 3 hours. I mess up words some times, and kind of jump between topics. I swing moods between anger, not caring about anything, and sadness pretty much at any random point through out the day for any amount of time. So that's basically what I've learned about myself. I've seen counselors in the past for anxiety and have been taking meds for that and depression for about 8 years now. Since I don't say anything I think anti psychotics would be best for me. But seeing my doctor should help decide that for sure. And that brings us back to why I'm suppose to tell my parents all this.
2 AnswersMental Health8 years agoQuestions after replacing bass strings?
My uncle always took care of my guitars and basses, but he died about 2 weeks ago and today one of my strings broke. So I don't know what strings he put on my bass (Fender P/J special), so I bought and installed a new set of Daddario strings. I don't want the action to change so I held the new and old strings up to each other and they all look to be the same gauge.
Would I be able to tell the difference between say, a .95 and a .105 gauge string by holding them next to each other or by playing?
Will adjusting intonation change the action of the strings?
When the open string is in tune, How out of tune should it be at the 12th fret before I have to mess with it? My E and A string go sharp 20 cents at the 12th fret, maybe my new strings need to break in for a bit first?
I love my bass and I want it to stay the same as it was the last 3 years I've had it. That's why I don't want the action to change since my uncle won't be able to set it for me again (very sad, he was something like 44 years old). Thanks.

I put together a lot of soldering kits and they all run off 9v batteries. Would a kit like this let me plug into the wall instead of using batteries?

Or do I need to spend more money on one of these?

1 AnswerRock and Pop8 years agoWhat happens after leukemia relapses?
My uncle was diagnosed with leukemia sometime in early spring, he was doing alright until thanksgiving day his leukemia white blood cells went from 3% to like 25% and they told him he had a few weeks to a few months to live. I really thought he'd still make it but today my dad was over there, I guess his blood is like purple because there's no oxygen in it, so now I'm not sure how much longer he's going to be around.
What can they actually do after relapse, can't they try bone marrow transplants again? How many people can make it if they relapse before their leukemia is fully gone?
So far this year my great grandma died at 93, my grandfather died at 84 or so, and my grandma died two months ago at 59, I don't want my uncle to go next.
2 AnswersCancer8 years agoHow does this dc power supply work after its assembled?
I need a fan for my new little soldering workshop. I plan to use a computer fan in a way that I can plug it into an outlet. Pc fans use dc so I need a converter, I thought buying one I assemble would be great especially if I can adjust the voltage/fan speed.
I'm confused how this one will work. I guess the resistors soldered in adjust the voltage so its actually more fixed than variable, then I could solder in my fan instead of that LED light, but then how is it powered? Does it plug in or do you need a 9v battery.
I've never done these kind of things before if someone has a different, better kit for under $20 feel free to link it here.
2 AnswersEngineering9 years agoSoldering question before my new iron comes?
Just ordered a new iron when I'm done using it do I store it with the tip tinned or do I wipe it as clean as I can?
I don't have a sponge so would wiping on wet shop towels work it won't lit on fire will it?
Also it comes with a tiny roll of iron free solder that I plan to use just practicing on wires and resistors on a little soldering board is there anything different I have to do compared to Rosin core solder?
3 AnswersEngineering9 years agoWill my cats stop fighting on their own ?
We had cat 1 for like 6 months, now we've had cat 2 for a few weeks. I did the whole isolation and introduction thing and cat 2 growled a lot (she was my grandmas cat and was always kind of turdy) they never fought each other in there (the bathroom) when i would let them both in, so when my little sister demanded to let cat 2 free, I let her. After about a week cat 2 starts looking around the house and would pick fights with cat 1 when they come across each other, cat 1, who didn't care at first or would just walk away fights back now. Do I have to separate cat 2 again or can they sort it out on their own still? Cat 2 was set lose a week and a half ago but they've only been fighting like this for 5 days to a week at the most.

Software9 years agoCan't sign in to Games for Windows Marketplace?
It'll sign me in when I play games but when I try to use the market place program I always get "Can't sign in. Please try again later. Code:80070005" I already tried reinstalling it, and the stuff from the microsoft help page is less than helpful, so I don't know what else to do. The account I try to sign in on I created years ago for xbox live and just recently started using it on computer.
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games9 years agodo runescape items go away after not playing forever?
Just wondering I decided to play today after like 3 years, and my money and armor was gone. I care more about the fact that I could of had a keylogger and possibly been hacked. Or does stuff just go away if you don't play forever.
2 AnswersOther - Games & Recreation9 years agoWhy won't anyone call me about my job applications?
I turned 16 in October of 2010, and since then I have filled out 184 job applications to 137 different places and haven't even received a call...ever. Then about two weeks ago I apply someplace, three days later my friend applies to the same place, and he gets the job, and I don't even get a phone call still. I put good references, I mowed my neighbors friends lawn for a few years, so I put him down, used to give cello lessons to my moms friends daughter, put her down, and if it asks for 3 I've been mowing my grandmas lawn for about 5 years and list her as well. wtf is going on here! I've been looking for a job to fund parts for my computer for almost 2 years now and haven't heard anything from anyone. Even a place where my aunt is the manager didn't hire me, and she talked to the human resources....master for me even.

1 AnswerAdd-ons9 years agoWhy dors my cat lick herself so much now?
Not really centralized any where, and I've only had her for 3weeks and she didn't do it this much until a few days ago, do cats just clean themselves a lot and now she's use to being here ? Is she shedding since it's getting warm? I never had a cat before.
4 AnswersCats9 years agoWhat should I buy for the best performance increase?
I bought a computer from my friend a while ago for $15 becuase he said it didn't work. But it took me about 12 minutes to make it work great, and I've been playing starcraft 2 on xubuntu for the past few months now.
The importand specs are:
1. AM2+ socket mother board
2. Geforce 220 (purchased from the same friend for another $10)
3. AMD64 bit cpu (2.8 GHz Dual Core)
4. I have it running on an ancient PATA Hard drive
To get the best gaming performance increase I thought I would just throw in a super graphics card, but now i think that the CPU is bottle necking the graphics card already in it so i was planing on upgrading the CPU to a Phenom II x4 3.0GHz (i already checked the BIOs to see if i had to update them, I don't). Would that be the best way to go, or would the Hard drive possibly be the bottle neck since it's a PATA, or would upgrading the GPU still be my best bet?
1 AnswerDesktops9 years agoheat sink not covering all of cpu?
I installed a COOLER MASTER Hyper TX3 cpu fan and around the edges a little bit of the cpu isn't covered by the heatsink. It's AM2+ socket (yea kind of old but it runs alright) it has a heat plate covering the cores so it should be ok right?

2 AnswersOther - Hardware9 years agoCan't figure out what beep code means?

3 AnswersOther - Computers9 years agopata interface cards?
Since hard drive prices are still pretty high, I want to build a computer that i can use one of my old pata drives with for a little while. Originally i wanted to build an amd apu machine but since none of those boards have a pata connection, I thought i'd go the am3+ route instead with boards that do. I've heard of the converters that go into to back of the pata device and know they're hit or miss (not something a really want to deal with), but earlier today i discorvered pata interface cards.
What are the interface cards like in terms of success rates (in linux most likely), and would i be able to boot from such a device?
1 AnswerAdd-ons9 years agoFixing a Bent CPU pin?
So my friends were messing with their computers until one of their CPUs wouldn't go into the socket now I have to fix it for them. I'm actually careful with my stuff so this never happened to me before, should I just like try and bend it back with a pliers?
