Are Mormon women supposed to be subservient to their husbands?
9 AnswersGender Studies7 years agoLighter summer sides?
Potato and pasta salads are such delicious summer staples. But they're almost total carbs, and we all know it. Sure, we throw in a few carrots, celery and onions, but when you add something like corn-on-the-cob to the menu, it's carb overload. Has anyone tried making those salads lighter...but adding some nontraditional things? A head of romaine, chopped up might look weird, but it might be good too. How about a half a head of cabbage? Cherry tomatoes? cucumber doesn't sound good, but a whole package of sprouts might work. Sun-dried tomatoes? serving them by stuffing a green pepper? Let me know if you have...or even would...try any of those. Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoLong Term Helath Care Insurance?
I'm 65 and recently found some money that is due me, but can only be used for LTHCI unless I want to pay taxes on it, (which I don't really want to do). It is not a great deal of money, under $15,000. Given my age, what are the things I should look at when considering LTHCI? I know this is awfully late in the game to begin this type of policy, but the money can only be used for that, or is subject to taxes. Thanks in advance.
6 AnswersInsurance7 years agoHas anyone make garden art using old glassware to construct flowers? I'd like to try it, what glue is best?
Glassware is heavy, and I would like it to be able to withstand the weather a garden is subject to. I bought one flower and even though there is a LOT of side load on the adhesive, it holds terrific. Any hints on the glue would be appreciated.
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape7 years agoNon-profit rating guide?
I live in a small community with a couple of non-profit Senior Centers nearby. They are both 501.c.3 organizations and I would like to donate to one of them. Is there a site where I can find their "efficiency" rating? That is, how much of their income goes toward programs and services?
3 AnswersGovernment & Non-Profit8 years agoStoring feta cheese in olive oil?
I have read conflicting advise about storing feta cheese in oil for long periods of time. Some places say it is fine, other places warn against development of botulism. Some say refrigerate, others say there is no need to do this. I know that herbs and garlic can develop botulism if stored in oil, but once the oil is flavored, ALL sources seem to agree that the danger from botulism from the infused oil is gone. But what about the cheese itself? Thank you in advance.

I see a lot of frozen entrees have frozen pasta in them. If I make too much pasta, can I freeze it for future use?

Is ballroom dancing a really huge deal there? From what I can tell, it must be.

I made a comment on Facebook I now regret (sigh, temper, temper) how can I delete it? I made it on someone else's wall.
5 AnswersFacebook9 years agoRipping or Tearing Lettuce?
I've heard people debate whether you should rip lettuce or tear it. Which one should you do, and (for Pete's sake) can you explain the difference?
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes10 years agoHow harmful is Roundup environmentally?
It says it is inert once it hits the ground, and once it dries, does not pose a threat to animals. Buuut it is a systemic plant killer. Is it really bad, or just kind of bad? I can't find this info on the web.

Firefox hosed their recent version, (bugs in it) so I'm thinking of switching to Chrome. Your opinion?
10 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoWhy don't I see flavored whipped cream?
It seems we flavor cream cheese, custards, butters, just about anything, but I never see any recipes calling for whipped cream that has been flavored. I know you'd want to whip the cream first, but after that, folding in lemon or lime zest, or cocoa powder, seems a natural. Would this make the whipped cream deflate and be ruined?
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoGlow in the dark paint interior wall paint?
I'd like to paint a constellation on my guest room ceiling. I don't want to actually paint stars, just points of light like stars really look like at night. Is there a paint that gathers light from the ambient light available and then glows at night? I don't want a reflective paint that only glows when you shine a light on it. Thanks in advance.

Anyone tried these? What are the pros and the cons? I just returned from a vacation where finding a place to smoke was very difficult. What's your opinion?
3 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoChicken Yorkshire Pudding?
Everyone knows that pudding made with beef drippings is delicious and a great accompaniment for a meal. Baking chicken creates rich drippings as well, and is often used to make gravy. Is there a version of pudding out there that can be made for chicken? It seems logical, but I've never seen one. Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoCanadians, how proud are you that Billy Bob Thornton got boo-ed out of your country?
Celebrities live in luxury, and they do it on our money. When they act in an unacceptable way, and actually call the people who will buy tickets to support them names, it's time to send a message. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to forcing him to cancel his tour. You may be proud of yourselves, but so am I.
7 AnswersCountry1 decade agoWalking Shoe Problem? Numb feet?
I got some new Nike Walking shoes that are comfortable when I put them on, but after walking for 2 miles or so, the bottoms of my feet start to tingle and eventually feel numb. It's very uncomfortable. I have a high arch, so I loosened the laces a lot, but it's still happening. Any advice?
