Mr.Spock

I need to know how to say this for a paper I have to write. I'm trying to say "His father thought the army would be good for him." How exactly would this sentence be written? I think I have it right other than the 'would be' part. I'm stumped.

Now, I'm not actually going to a convention(though one is coming up in Chicago, WITH LEONARD NIMOY!!), but people in my story are.

They're going to a Star Trek convention, so I was curious on how that would go. Do they have to buy tickets? What's it like there?

I know it starts with H, but what is it? Does it ever say what his middle name is?

In one book it said it was Edward, but that was only one book, and in several others it is just stated as 'H.'.

I'm writing an essay on why I believe Star Trek is better than Star Wars(Go ahead trolls, say that you think Star Wars is better ;D). What are some of the points I can say in the essay? I have plenty on how I believe the characters are better, so what else can I point out to the reader? Any ideas?

I just feel like writing a short story in something or someones perspective. What should I do? Should I write in an inanimate object's perspective, a characters perspective, what?

I'm writing a story, and I'd like to know if this is bad grammar.

Ben knew just about everything there was to know. He could recite the entire periodic table, speak five languages: French, German, Spanish, Latin, and Russian, give you the definition of nearly every word, memorize any series of words, and much more.

I know it's quite a run-on sentence, but I really just want to know if I used the colon right.

For my book, I was going to write in an alien's point of view. I was going to make an entirely new world. But, would it be a bad idea if I used Earth-like things in this world?

For example, I was going to use green grass like on Earth, and other plants like the ones on Earth. Also, I was going to make the aliens look like humans, with a few different things. (Pointed ears, odd colored eyes, no hair, and some different anatomy) But with the same basic look. Would that be a bad thing? Too unrealistic? I need opinions.

Okay, I'm writing my second novel, and I need name help. The book's main characters are twin brothers, and I need another name. One of the brothers' names' is going to be Tom. What should the other be named? I want something original that hasn't been used much, and a last name would be nice too.

They both have very dark brown eyes, inch-long, shaggy, dark brown hair, small facial features, and they are around 5'5" and are thin and not muscular.

(I don;t know if that helps any, but that was just an over-view of their looks)

I am writing a story, and I used a semi-colon in one sentence. Is it used right? If not, how can I fix it?

I had average looks; short, blond hair, icy blue eyes, glasses, and slightly tanned skin.

Okay, I am writing a novel that has no particular plot just yet, but I am stuck on a very simple section.

My main character, who also narrates the story, is a man in his early 20s. His name is Leonard Alexander, and he is a very, very smart man. But in the book, I want him to have two average, slightly embarrassing jobs. But, I can't decide on any jobs. I was thinking he could work as a waiter or at a fast food restaurant, and then have another job.

Do you have any ideas for a couple jobs? And I'm only 13, so I don't have any experience in the business field. Haha.

Okay, I wrote a book a few weeks ago, and I thought is was an okay piece. (It won an award and what not. Yadda yadda) Now I'd like to write another.

So far, the book has three characters. They are all VERY intelligent college graduates, and all are polite. The two boys(Leonard and Mathew) are sharing an apartment, and the third person, a girl named Liz, is their best friend. Leonard is the main character, and narrates the story.

My first request, is a better name for Liz. I am still working on her appearance, so I'm sorry I don't have a description. But she is very smart, and argues any point she thinks she needs to. She is stubborn as all getout, and a wiz at Scrabble. Any ideas?

My second and last request, is a plot. I want something realistic, yet catchy. And I will take any suggestions, as long as they have nothing to do with vampires, werewolves, or unicorns.

Every once in a while, the back left side of my neck will get a sharp, quick pain in it, then it will be over in less than a second. It happens every few days, and has been going on for quite a long time now. The feeling it like someone is ripping out my muscle, only very fast. Can anyone tell me whats wrong?

He's going to be a very nerdy and intelligent 25 year-old, and is going to be sort of a softy(You know, sensitive). Any ideas?

People say he's really bad and sins and is evil etc. etc.

But, wouldn't he just be a really cool guy? I mean, if he sins, he'll let you sin, won't he? To be honest, if heaven and hell exist, I want to go to hell, just to see if Satan is a cool guy.

What are all the movies and shows he's been in? :D
