  • I think we might have a pet mouse?

There is a mouse living behind our stove. I bought live traps. The kind where you catch the critter and release it. My youngest daughter started calling it Ben. My husband is not trying to catch it. I gave him the traps. He put in crackers. Mice don't eat crackers. No one but me is making an attempt at catching the mouse. Do I need to resign myself to the fact that there is a mouse in our stove? I'm fine with mice really. I'm just worried about their family. If there is one, surely there are more. And it's nice that everyone loves Ben the mouse, he has got to go, So how do I kindly remove Ben from my home without upsetting everyone?

  • I feel so guitly! What should I do?

My girlfriend is visiting from Texas. Her Dad is from the Chicago area. I sent her on a train to go meet him. I wrote detailed instructions and she has her cell phone. She hasn't seen her Father in years. I was invited but I think that is a private thing. She has to get on an El and then off and then walk maybe a half block. She's meeting him at Union Station. Anyone can find that right? I'm worried sick. But I wouldn't send her or do anything that I thought was dangerous or unsafe. She just doesn't know Chicago. What if something goes wrong? Was I bad to send my friend out there? And I'm sitting on my hands from calling her. I'm not going to call her. She'll call me if something goes wrong. I think. Oh I'm so worried.

  • 1997 Chevy work truck. 1500, What engine?

In that year you had the choice of engines. My Dad special ordered an engine for that truck. In 1997 he special ordered an engine. What was it? I still drive it today and it has 258, 179 miles on it. And the Engine is fine. It won't quit. I've had small problems with it. Master cylinder etc. but it runs like it's brand new. My Dad didn't know he was dying in 2009 and he never told me the specifics. I guess because I'm a girl. But now I'm in love with this truck. It's a short bed hot red truck. And it has balls to it. And it's a different engine. Any help?

  • How fast do cats grow?

We have a baby kitty. He was five weeks and his eyes were all swollen shut. Husband found him. His Mom was about to wash him off the driveway. Baby Kitty is black and his Mom is around 90. So understandable. Husband brought Baby Kitty home in a box and wrapped in a plastic bag. I took one look at him and rushed him to the Vet. I didn't have any real intentions on keeping him. I just knew it was necessary to get him care. Fast forward. I fell in love. I just love him. Through all his medication and everything. We really fought hard for this kitten. Now he's a huge cat. It's less then a year. He HUGEl. He weighs about 30 pounds and he's long. Husband and I joke that we have adopted a Panther. He doesn't need to go back to the Vet until September. That's when he goes back for his rabies shot and some other stuff. I'm thinking I should make an appointment for him? We had him fixed and all that. Actually, when he got fixed they had to take out two of his teeth He had double fangs. Did we get a panther? How fast to these cats grow? All in all I'd have to say being a cat owner is pretty nice. He looks for me and waits for me when I get home. And he cries when we shut the door to our bedroom. He needs to be with us. I like him.

  • Any one? Any one? Besides the Debt crap but John Boehner pronounces his name Beaner or?

Hello! It's *****. He re invented his last name. Everyone by that name pronounces it *****. Not Beaner or anything else. He's hiding his name. I do a lot of Genealogy work. I know that name and I know the pronunciation. Whatever your thoughts, I don't think he should be trying to make us all pronounce his name as beaner when it is truly *****. When you have to lie about your name, well I just don't trust you too much.

  • Isn't Aspirin horrible for dogs?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Someone suggested giving my dog aspirin and bells went off. I was like okay. Yeah I play dumb sometimes. But in my head I was like no. I know I sound stupid. But that's how the conversation happened. I didn't want to argue with him because he said his son was a Vet. So was I wrong for that instinct to kick in?

  • Help us settle a silly argument about a stove!?

Our, I should say MY stove has reached the end. So Husband and I have to go stove shopping. We are getting the kitchen remodeled. But for now we have to start with the stove. He wants white. I am absolutely against white. I would like black or stainless steal. He says with white you can see where the dirt is and clean it. Um when has that ever happened? I say black because it hides it or stainless because it's easy to clean. I've lived with my kids and husband for decades. They aren't going to clean it. I say the kitchen is my domain and I pick the stove. And I'm not looking for anything fancy. I just want a basic oven. A stove that works and four burners. That's all I need. But, I see where this is going. We'll be in the store arguing about stupid things. I want a basic black stove. Who is right?

And those that vote that I'm right can have some of my bricole. And pot roast and pork loin.

  • Do you think that people that say they are Metal Heads?

Anyways they say they are into metal but don't know who Motorhead is are just retarded? How can you be a Metal Head if you don't know Motorhead? I was just talking to someone earlier and they said I'm a metal head and I like blah blah and I mentioned Motorhead and they were like "Who?" Never heard of them. I walked away. Is it just me? I won't even talk to someone that has never heard of Motorhead.

  • Trying to save a baby kitty?

I have to drive through a bad part of town to get home from work. One night the winds where just whipping around and a baby kitty was chasing a leaf on the street. He ran into the weeds. The next night I saw him again on the side of the road. He wasn't chasing leaves this time. The first time I didn't stop because there were tornado warnings out and it is not the best neighborhood. I was basically doing 70 to keep ahead of the storms to get home. I know it's going to be very hard if not impossible to catch him or her. The second night I saw him he was just at the side of the road. I slowed down and really thought about getting out of my car to get him. Is there someone I can contact? Some agency or someone that is better equipped then me? Even if I did manage to catch him, he could be wild and I don't have a crate in my car. He looks young. Maybe three months if that. I just hate to see that kind of thing.

  • Stray dog under the house? Everyone is mad because I called the Cops.?

I went to visit my Mom in law and they have a crawl space that is open to the backyard. A dog got in there and wouldn't get out. My brother in law was spraying the dog in the face full force with a hose. I tried to tell him to stop. I even started pulling on him. I was about to punch my brother in law. He wouldn't listen. Finally, he said Fine and gave me overalls or something so I could crawl in. Which I did. The dog bit me. I kind of expected that. But after that he was nice and calm. I got him out and my brother in law started kicking him and I couldn't stop him so I called 911. I wanted him arrested for animal abuse. So the cops show up and I'm a dirty mess and hysterical. And the cops say well this is his house and if he doesn't want that dog in his crawl space then there is nothing we can do. The dog is fine. He's resting comfortably in our basement. We won't keep him. He'll find a nice home. We took him to the Vet and he's on a lot of meds. Worms and stuff. But now everyone is mad at me. Why did you have to call the cops? He wouldn't stop kicking the dog. Please tell me I was right for calling 911.

  • Storm chasers and tornado watchers?

I hate those people. What do they really know? They are in these vehicles that are meant to withstand things. They put themselves in it. And then they act like they know everything. Do they ever give a thought to the people that are just living their lives and don't have an iron clad humvee to sit in? I don't care what they say. Unless you have truly been through the experience of a tornado, you don't know chit. I respect the fact that they call it ahead of time and give us warning. But to sit there and relish when they get to be in a tornado is beyond me. I think next time they should sit there and think about a Mom and child praying for their lives in a bath tub. Not be on TV and talking about what they have done. I just think it's so disrespectful.

  • I think I messed up with our home owners insurance?

Our dog got out of the yard and bit the mail person. I don't know how bad it was. That's for the doctors. But we did sit her down and she felt the need to call 911 and go to the hospital by ambulance. Our dog didn't attack or anything. He just bit her on her leg. So right after that I'm thinking law suit. So I call our insurance company with some questions. Now today they want us to come in and sign some papers. But nothing has happened yet. We aren't being sued. We haven't filed a claim with them. So why are our insurance people all over us. I would think that it would be the other way around. The Mail Person sues us and then we file a claim with our insurance. It seems goofy to me. I guess I shouldn't have called them with my questions. But I felt like we needed to cover our azzes.

And the mail person is fine. She was back at work the next day. As far as the dog goes he's okay too. It was an odd set of circumstances. We have a dog run and we keep gun locks on both gates. Not because I think they are dangerous but because people are mean. People do come into your yard and steal your dog and use them for Pit Bull bait. So the gun locks are mostly for show. I guess I didn't properly close the gate or use the lock. And he got out. I feel horrible. But what can i do?

  • Someone referred to us as "you people"?

Shouldn't I be offended by that? What is "you people"? I would never refer to someone as "you people". I have no idea what she meant by it. I understand the situation and I understand that she thought we couldn't hear her. But she said it.

  • Is Ditch Weed invasive? The Marijuana plant?

It keeps popping up all over our yard. I have a wild flower part and then I'll notice the Marijuana plant. It's also down by the river and on our easement that we have no control over. I mow the grass obviously, but once in a while one of those guys will pop their head up. I'm not a pot grower. But I think I might have a market if I just let it all go. So should I let it go in parts that I don't mow? Or make an effort to pull it. Also, can I get into trouble for it?

  • Why do I say the wrong things?

Just today I said well just put it on the onion. And I meant table. I didn't realize I was doing it. My kids were telling me I'm crazy and then Husband stood up for them. I guess it was an intervention type thing. I blew it off until I caught my self saying onion instead of table. I feel fine. I don't think I had a stroke or anything. I don't feel like I have Alzheimer.. What do you tell the Doctor? I don't know what to say. I mix up my words and what? Are they going to send me to a crazy doctor?

  • Nephew is starting to drive and be an adult?

He's 16. Husband and I have always been close to him. His parents are wonderful people. We love them. Anyways, we were thinking of taking him aside and having a sit down with him. We would tell him that we loved him and no matter what you could call us and we would come get you. We don't care if he was in jail or drunk or just anything. If he was ever in a situation that he needed help to call us. We would tell him that we would do our BEST not to tell his parents. Of course we would say call Mom or Dad. But if he couldn't or didn't want to.Do you think that is undermining the Parents?

  • Black Lab on Cortisone?

The Vet said I should expect excessive urination. To me that means letting her out twice as much. With us it was wherever she slept she "leaked". She would be sleeping or laying and when she got up there would be a pool. And it was constant letting her out. She finished her cycle of a week straight and now we taper down to three a week. But the pee was crazy. And Husband suggested that we limit her water. I don't agree with that. I think our pets should always have fresh clean water. No matter what they may be going through. I even cheat when the Vet says no food or water. I still give them water. They look thirsty. But the Cortisone was supposed to help with her Dermatitis and her arthritis. Any thoughts or advice?
