I'm looking at the Onkyo line; my budget max is probably the $599 models.

Which would you recommend for the best model for music playback? I listen to music about as much as I watch movies and it's been many years since I've bought a receiver so a lot of this is new to me. I'm not really sure what the THX Select2 gives me or what other features I might like. I have some decent quality un-powered Klipsch speakers all around - I don't have the specs but can look them up if they are important in selecting a receiver. I also have a powered subwoofer.

Also - this may be a very dumb question but the speaker inputs on the back of these receivers look different from my current receiver which I just twist a wire and jam in. Are these new types of inputs? Do I need to buy different connectors for my monster cables?

I'm searching for a Dilbert comic strip where each panel shows someone wearing a different outfit along with the message that you are sending (in the corporate environment) - I don't remember a lot but one panel shows some guy wearing a suit and tie and the message is something like "ridicule me" and the punchline is some tech genius wearing a robe and sandals and the message is "worship me" (since he isn't afraid of losing his job).

before we realize that we are all in it together? how many have to die?

just got 2 new cats; 1 male 1 year old and 1 female 7 months old...i have the female confined to one room and the male getting free roam everywhere else. Question is - how long (in general) should i give them to get used to the new surroundings and each others smell? i did research Y/A but didn't find a consensus on this so thought i'd check with the experts. initially i gave them both free roam when i brought them home but the both seemed much more relaxed when separated. the shelter suggested 1-2 weeks but that seems like a long time.

Doesn't it give you a warm feeling that rich white men are finally coming together to agree that the rich should keep getting richer? Or is this a sign that the economy is going right down the drain as the middle class (the work force) keeps getting smaller and smaller?
