Windows 7 laptop has shrunken screen with black borders along the sides?
I left my laptop sitting nearby while doing something else and when I next went to use it (to wake it from sleep mode in order to get my music playing again) the screen was smaller with the black borders on the sides. We do have a playful kitten and my only guess is she stepped on it and pressed something while I wasn't looking. The resolution still works fine for the part of the screen I can see, the task bar even shrank appropriately for the new width given, and it acts as if this visible area is the only available screen space - the mouse will not move into the black margarine.
It's a little annoying to have things 'shrunken' onto a generally smaller screen, especially when some pages (and their flash players) don't fit properly and ride over the sides, in spite of the window being 'maximized' into the small allotted space. There had been some errors previously to this but I had suspected they were merely a FaceBook problem, with some games showing as barely a strip of the actual flash box (I 'fixed' this by zooming in the page enough to have the box spring back up, yet larger or smaller and the flash is no longer fully accessible), an error that I haven't had trouble with on any other computer in the house. I'm not sure how relevant this may or may not be.
Does anyone know what exactly might have happened? Did the cat step on something or is it a problem with the laptop herself? Any ideas are welcome, doing a basic search hasn't helped me (that may be partially my fault, however, as I am apparently horrible at choosing appropriate key words).
4 AnswersMonitors9 years agoWhat is the grooming brush in the commercial where they rip the napkin?
I keep seeing this commercial for a grooming brush with a sort of skin guard on it - and in it they show a typical grooming brush (which I believe may be a furminator or something similar) going over a napkin and ripping it up. It's supposed to help demonstrate the need for the curved skin guard they put on the featured brush instead. I can't for the life of me remember the name though! What was this commercial for? Help?

1 AnswerCats1 decade agoDoes a region hack code exist for symphonic WF20D4?
So I bought this complete collection of DVDs for my little sister, over a hundred dollars, cheapest I could find and shipped from overseas (Xena). She finally gets it in the mail, and our DVD player tells her that it's not in the right region code. I didn't even KNOW bout these things until now. I figured, rather than coughing up the cash for A, a whole new (region free) player, or another DVD player where we can find and note down the code for it, I'd see if there was any hope here first.
3 AnswersTVs1 decade agoI plugged my ipod classic into the computer before powering up - it's now completely frozen. Advice?
When I plugged the classic in to charge on my computer it wasn't powered up yet (a desktop, DELL). Said computer won't start up if the music player is plugged before powering up, it turns out, but now the ipod is completely frozen. The screen isn't even going dark after a bit. iTunes isn't recognizing it either, although it makes the appropriate sound when plugged in now that the computer is started up. It's just not there in iTunes for me to see and it doesn't register that it's charging or syncing at all (and the sync was why I wanted this, a couple of songs didn't take properly before for some reason) Can someone tell me what's up with it and if I need to take it in to have it looked at? This sucker isn't even a week old yet.
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agowhere is the itunes playlist located (PC)?
Do NOT tell me it's in user/mydocuments/music
I don't have that folder. I DO have playlists, some of which are highly eclectic and contain several dozen songs plucked from several hundred songs. I have all my songs backed up and ready to transfer to the new DELL due to arrive in a couple weeks, but I would very much like to locate these playlists. A computer wide search was performed (one of them is named Mario and so a search for Mario was brought up) and there was no playlist in the results.
Does anyone have the answer?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoAre cinnamon or garlic allowed in a GERD diet?
I've been dealing with GERD dietary restrictions for a fair few months now, and so far I've managed to adjust to most of issues regarding it. My system is about as delicate as can be - I'm talking the crackers and croutons in a salad, with light vinaigrette dressing (the gentlest I'm aware of), is known to give me some issues. So does the yeast and dairy in cookies - so, quite literally, the 'try a little and see if it hurts' rule doesn't apply at all as forbidden is forbidden for me.
I'm not entirely sure in regards to some spices, however - season all, a kind of salt commonly used for seasoning meat, seems to be alright if not over-used, however the addition of garlic salt is questionable to me. I also rather enjoy cinnamon sugar concoctions, yet I can't find any information in regards to cinnamon.
Allergies1 decade agoProper diet for an older, indoor cat?
Our family cat is having some serious digestive issues as of late and we're about at the end of our rope trying to figure it out. He's a seven year old grey tabby with medium hair, for the record. When the problems first started we switched him to a cat food formulated for older cats, but that only made things worse. He throws up frequently, around once a day or so, and has serious problems with hairballs. His bowels seem normal, however. He also tries to eat the dog food quite a bit - I'm not sure why, either he wants a new taste, he's just weird and likes it better, or he knows something about the indoor formula we feed him now is no longer working and making him ill.
He doesn't act differently; that is to say, he whines when he wants something, paws you when you walk by, stands up and full out grabs you if you ignore him, sits on your laptop while you're trying to use it and refuses to take a kind hint, ect. Typical fat, lazy cat that we know and love.
The hairballs happen daily, if not two or three times daily. That, I think might be fixed with proper grooming.. He may just be getting too old for his system to handle all the hair any more. But throwing up his cat food and avoiding his food for dog food makes us think it's something more than that. To help my mother gives him a saucer of milk every day, and while it seems to help him in regards to the hairballs he still throws up. I think I saw that giving too much milk is actually hard on their stomach as they weren't designed for the way a cow's milk is formulated. Sort of like candy for us - it tastes good, but it should be a rare treat.
That's the over all situation, here. Indoor cat food doesn't seem to be working as it should, older formula makes it worse, he tries to eat the dog food but has regular bowels and we should more than likely start grooming him more than we had previously.
Tips, tricks, advise..? Help?
