  • what do you like about your church?

I asked this in another post but it was tied into another question so it was over-looked. What's your favorite part about your denominational beliefs? What was your best experience at church or a church function? Let's keep it christian people in all aspects. No put downs!

  • Looking for a new denomination, need guidance.?

    Please read full description:

So I've been a Catholic my whole life. I went to catholic school, I received all the sacraments, and even played in my churches bell choir. I respect the Catholic Church but I just don't feel at home there. It feels like a chore to go to church. Lately I have been reading the Bible a lot and finding comfort in deepening my faith but my husband and I have been lacking a church family. I want a community of like minded people we can actually participate in. However with so many denominations out there my search is taking a very long time. I'm just asking for some of you to point me in the right direction and help narrow my search.

Things I'm looking for: traditional morals, community feel, The bible, I'm not at all against getting baptized again.

Deal breakers: speaking in tongues, holding "being saved" above all. I had a bad experience once with a brethren church where I was told I could live a good life with Christ, but if I wasn't saved I was going to hell anyway. Of you're brethren and this is not the case let me know. A pastor told me this.

Anyway please be kind I'm just looking for a direction, I will be taking my time to find the right fit for us so please don't think I'm taking this lightly. This is just a way to help me narrow it down when researching. Please tell me a little about your church, your beliefs, and what you enjoy about it? Maybe also your most positive personal experience?

  • husbands relationship with his father bad for adoption?

My husband's father is a bad guy. He's more than just a jerk and was always extremely mentally abusive on top of other things. They haven't spoken in 7 years. We would really like to change our last name at this point and we're worried it would hinder our adoption approval. I need insight. We're maybe a year away from even applying but I don't want to do anything to screw up our future family and I'm worried we'll look like the bad guys because on paper his dad is a friendly local business man. Also on a side note I have a great very large supportive family so that might look good on us enough to make up for it.

  • Need names for my boxer puppy?

Ok we're getting a female boxer pup. She is a dark reverse brindle. I need clever names! We thought about chevy but I just want more options incase it doesn't quite suit her when we get her home (she isn't ready until mid August) we like car names, beer names, country/redneck names, sci fi movies, or anything mildly related to those. Has to work for a girl! Oh we also are big comic book nerds! So that stuff works too!
