  • Spouse s Brother is living with us?

About a year ago my husband said he wanted to help his older brother get back on his feet. Next thing we know his brother, older girlfriend, and his 2 kids are flown to the islands, on our dime. They are living with us, paying no rent, no food, no electric or water, nothing except the bills they are in debt for.

I was never thrilled about this idea, but I m even less so because I m fed up with their parenting style. It s made up of mostly yelling. The kids are young, 9 and 5.

We have a beautiful home, and I work hard to keep it in order, but I feel like I m doing the brunt of it. They don t vaccum or sweep, rarely wipe the counter down, and don t clean the floor after the kids eat, which draws ants.

There are more problems than this, and its ripping my husband and I apart. He sides mostly with his brother because of blood and history, and I feel out numbered, 5 to 1.

How can I tell him that enough is enough?

  • Making a book?

You know those cardboard paper-like books that children get? The ones that are thicker paged so they don't bend them as easily as a regular book paper?

I want to take some of my computer generated art and but it in to a book so I can have it on my person, but I don't have the technology at my place to do all the work, but I'm looking for a company that can for me. Any suggestions/links that any of you know of?

Even if it's not those thick cardboard like books, that's OK too.

    Thanks

    Google's Pokemon Challenge?

Alright. So I really don't care if this is a prank or not, but I do want in on the gaming action. It says I must have a fully updated version of Google maps and then press the "Press Start" button to start my adventure. Problem is, this "updated" version of Maps doesn't give me that option. So, what should I do? Is there something that I'm missing?

(Picture is example of "home screen" as soon as I press my Google Maps app button. It pretty much just takes me to my location and waits for an address to look for)

  • 2 year old Jack Russel Training/Discipline?

    How would I go about...:

    Stopping unwanted barking

    Fixing an over-dominant nature

    Breaking a leash-yanking habit

    Stopping destructiveness

    Aggressive "play"

    House-Training

    More details:

There are toys that she enjoys playing with, but she randomly starts attacking other material items; the couch, a shirt, a wall decoration, carpet on floor, etc.

She is not affected by choke collars or harnesses. She pulls regardless of breath intake (with the choke collar).

Mounts her owner and barks/growls at anything she deems a "threat". Doing this, she also gets wildly aggressive with her owners as well and will bite them to get away to do what she wants.

Barks at shadows on the wall or light reflections.

Bites/growls while "playing". Wants to play tug-of-war or Keep-Away, but will not let any other dog/person close to her. When they do, she attacks. (has not been trained to "drop it")

She is barely house trained. That is all.

The owners have only tried positive reinforcement training. They have not been consistent with the training either. The dog bit one of them bad the other day (because the dog rules the house), so now they're asking for help.

I personally don't agree with the Ignoring Bad Behavior "method". I believe that you should smack a dog when they are being supremely disobedient and that negative reinforcement is completely necessary in training. I also believe in positive reinforcement as well, but to train completely with that is ridiculous.

  • Camp Casey in South Korea - Pets?

Hey there. My husband and I will soon be PCSing to Camp Casey, South Korea. We have a dog that we're going to bring. From what I've been hearing, it's going to be pretty hard to get any "yard space" and the like. So my question is: are there any dog parks on base or off that I can take my dog to, or just any park in general for her to get some "fresh air"?

  • Breeding Shinies for Pokemon X/Y?

Alright, so I'm working with the Masuda method and attempting to hatch a shiny. The pokemon parents are from different countries (US and Japan), so that ups my chances of hatching a shiny already. No questions there.

One of the pokemon I'm using to breed is shiny already, so does that up the chances of its offspring being shiny as well (because it's passing down a "trait")?

  • Will America be sending troops to Syria?

I've heard it both ways. President Obama said that he wasn't going have boots on the ground, but from the other side I hear that troops are already being prepped to go. What is the likelihood of either statement being true?

  • U.S. Army Insignias, Facts?

I'm doing a project over the United States Army and I want to know some interesting facts and trivia on the insignias.

Like, who came up with the idea for the designs, what does each ranking mean, and how long has the rank been used?

Just tid-bits of information are fine.

I'm also looking up the same thing on badges as well.

    Thanks for all (good) input!

  • New iguana doesn't seem to eat (much)?

Welp, I finally broke down and let my husband get his iguana he's been wanting lol. She's approx 1 year old and a beautiful green color. She's feisty and has quite an attitude to her, but she hasn't been handled much yet (due to previous owner being a breeder/seller), so I can understand.

One thing that worry's me though is her eating habits. I place new food (in generous amounts) in her cage each day on the bottom. And it's different each day (which i heard you should do, because they can be picky eaters). Some days its crushed spinach leaves with apple bits and others its sliced orange pieces with squash and cabbage. I make sure its cut up small enough for her to ingest easily, but she either thrashes her tail and whips it all over the cage (in displeasure of the meal) or just leaves it there to sit.

We've only had her about a week, but my husband and I are worrying. We haven't seen her eat, and she seems to be getting skinnier. She won't take food from our hands yet either (which i understand, that will take some time).

I've heard that some iguanas, due to stress, won't eat for 2 weeks after you get them. And while I believe that is completely rational for her to do, I don't want her to be starving herself.

I guess the whole question is...

How do we encourage her to eat, even if it's just a little bit?

  • Pets and 2-Year Tours?

My husband and I will be going on a 2 year tour soon to either Germany or South Korea (Army), and we would like to bring our dog along for it. Will we have to get our dog micro-chipped in order for her to come with us on the tour or not?

  • Rat biting her own and her cage-mates tail?

My female rat (approx 1.5 years) has gotten in to this habit of biting her own tail and 'chasing' it around in circles. Even trying to drag it to her nest and everywhere she goes. Now, I don't mind that, but it's a problem when she tries it with her younger female cage-mates tail and ear. The little one squeaks and indicates that its hurting her, but the older one keeps at it.

I've never had rats that do this, and I'm confused as to why is is just now starting. What might be going on and (besides separating them) what can I do to stop this more aggressive behavior?

  • Essay_Atheist Writes Satirical Essay to Christian Radio Station?

There's a document out there that dealt with an atheist writing in to a Christian Radio show (or something like that), asking questions on how to rear his child, deal with his neighbor, and overall advice. He gave specific examples and quotes from the bible, along with a satirical question on how he should deal with it.

"My neighbor is having an affair. Should I stone him in the middle of the street or should I hang him?"

The essay was written satirically so that he could prove the point that the bible shouldn't be taken so literally anymore.

  • Introducing Two Rats?

I've had my little Leia for a little over a year now, and she runs her two layer cage and tissue all by herself. Recently, my husband and I have gotten a new baby girl. She's about 4-5 months old. She was a feeder (like Leia was, but now Leia's only used to humans) and all she wants to do is be close to my older girl.

I have them in separate cages now, right by each other. I have let them out on neutral territory several times since I've gotten the new one, and they seem to get along just fine.

The little one becomes very active with Leia, sniffing and crawling on her back and under her stomach, but I'm afraid that Leia doesn't want anything to do with her.

She's nipped at her a couple of times (I've only heard a squeak once) and she kicks her in the face a lot. I know this is probably a "back off" type gesture, but I'd like to be sure.

And yes, of course I monitor they're meetings. And yes, I do separate them when one is being overly aggressive.

I want to eventually move the little one in to the double cage, but what are the signs that the older one is accepting and being friendly towards the little one?

tl;dr My older one kicks the young one in the face a lot when they're on neutral territory. Wat do.

  • Early signs of pregnancy?

I have a very irregular period, and I'm always a bit worried and paranoid about my fiance and I getting pregnant.

We had sex about 3 weeks ago and used protection (we are very careful about that), but still the paranoia hangs above me.

When is the earliest a pregnant woman knows for sure, and what are some signs?
