  • What are some more good British TV shows?

I'm looking for something new to watch.

I've already seen Misfits (my favourtie); Robin Hood; Primeval; Being Human; Torchwood; Dr. Who; Merlin; and Hotel Babylon.

I like sci-fi and fantasy type shows, period/historical pieces, espionage (spies and con artists), and smart comedies.

    Suggestions?

  • What's the name of this bollywood movie or song?

I found a video a long time ago, but I can't remember the title or who was in it.

It was from a Bollywood movie. I pretty sure it was some sort of love song.

    There were three different couples...

One couple rode off somewhere on a motorcycle... I think the girl was wearing an orange dress. They stop somewhere and they dance in the street.

One couple is on a roof, and the girl is doing a bollywood dance while the guy just watches.

The third couple is in what appears to be a dance studio... the guy and girl are dressed in all black and they're dancing together... but like jazz dance or something.

The video cuts between the three couples while they dance and I think there was a storm going on too... lightning and such.

Anybody know of this video? If you can provide a youtube link, that'd be great.

  • What are some somber haunting sounding songs?

Looking for songs with haunting, somber, somewhat sad sounding melodies.

Maybe something that sounds a bit celtic, middle-eastern, or just plain haunting.

    Examples:

    Azam Ali - La Serena ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6f6edn_7-I

    "The Witch's Aria" from BBC's Merlin ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2_gytAGnW8

  • What are a few songs with haunting melodies?

I'm looking for songs in minor keys, with somber, deeply haunting melodies... like some mid-eastern or south asian songs or those haunting melodies you hear in old celtic folk songs. Does not need to be in english.

Examples would be "The Witch's Aria" from BBC's Merlin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2_gytAGnW8) and "A Taste of Honey" sung by Esther Ofarim (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0ejklPVOdc). I need a few more though. Suggestions?

  • Can getting something notarized help in handling questions of ownership with pseudonyms?

I'm considering publishing under a pseudonym and not registering my real name with the copyright office. But on the copyright site, there is a statement:

"If using a pseudonym as the "Copyright Claimant", you should be aware that if a copyright is held under a fictitious name, business dealings involving that property may raise questions of ownership of the copyright property."

So how does one prove ownership if one decides not to reveal their real name to the Copyright office? It does say "You must, however, identify the citizenship or domicile of the author.".

Will providing my domicile (domicile since '99) be enough when I need to prove ownership? (<- no one as has answered that yet...)

Someone also suggested getting something notarized. This has raised a new question:

What exactly would I get notarized so that I have proof that 'pseudonym' is 'real name'? (<-this is my primary question if providing my domicile of 12 years isn't enough legal proof)

Would a document that says something like this work?:

"this document is to verify that 'pseudonym', author of 'book title' is a pseudonym for 'real name'." (I just phrased that on the fly to get the point out there.) Or would it have to be the whole manuscript? Or both?

  • How do you handle questions of ownership with pseudonyms?

I'm considering publishing under a pseudonym and not registering my real name. But in everything I've read about it, there is a statement:

"If using a pseudonym as the "Copyright Claimant", you should be aware that if a copyright is held under a fictitious name, business dealings involving that property may raise questions of ownership of the copyright property."

So how does one prove ownership if one decides not to reveal their real name to the Copyright office? It does say "You must, however, identify the citizenship or domicile of the author.".

Will providing my domicile (domicile since '99) be enough when I need to prove ownership? Or is there something I can do, besides registering my real name, that can prove ownership without a doubt?

My best idea was doing a poor man's copyright (mailing the manuscript to myself and never opening it) by mailing To: 'Pseudonym' c/o 'Real Name'. I know it's simple, but would that be sufficient?

  • Dumbo Rat breeders in Antioch / Nashville, TN?

Looking specifically for a pair of young female Dumbo Rats. PetSmart sells them, but I don't know if they actually have any (just saw it on their site) and I don't really want to get them from a pet store. I would prefer a good breeder but I can't seem to find any in the Nashville or Antioch area in Tennessee.

  • Why is the property in Ft. White, FL so cheap?

Is it just a really small town or is it a bad area that no one wants to live in? I've never been to that part of Florida, but I'm finding 10 acre properties for under $100,000 and it has me wondering...

  • Where can I find more affordable building design software?

I'm looking for something like Design Builder (http://www.designbuilder.co.uk)/

I only care about the graphic portion, the quick and easy graphic construction of a 3D building.

But $1500 is way more than I can afford. I'm hoping for something in a more reasonable price range. It doesn't have to be $15 or anything like that, but the cheaper the better.

  • How likely is it to become a hostage in one's lifetime?

I was held hostage in Japan back in 2008 by two Japanese girls during my visit and I was just curious if there were statistics on how common it may or may not be to wind up a hostage... be it just in America or world wide. It just got me thinking... kidnapping, robberies, etc... how likely is it to become a hostage of one kind or another in one's lifetime?

  • What is the chemical in hair relaxers and perms that make the horrible smell?

I tried to google this and I think it may be Formaldehyde (based on a google search hit), but I'm not sure.

The reason I ask is because I've been smelling this on the air recently... The thing is, there is no one that lives around me that would need to straighten their hair. I considered maybe a perm, but I've seen no new hairstyles on my neighbors. Today is the second or third time and it's 8am. The other times were at like 2am, 4am.... So I presume, since it smells the same as a hair relaxer, it must be a specific chemical.

Also, if you know the answer to this question, perhaps you may know other uses for this mystery ingredient so that I may finally know what this foul smell it that won't allow me to sleep and upsets my stomach.
