  • How far do seats recline on Qantas A380-800 in row 77?

I'm travelling on the Qantas A380-800 from London to Melbourne in a few weeks and have pre-booked a seat in row 77 as it does not have a row behind it (it is in front of the self-serve bar) and got good reviews online (some people complained that the touch screens on the backs of seats can be annoying as you keep feeling the seat being bumped etc).

But now I've had a look elsewhere there is the suggestion that seats in this row don't recline properly, making it difficult to sleep.

Anyone know which site is correct? Do the seats in front of the self-serve bar recline? If so, is it a proper recline or reduced?

    Thanks.

  • Lots of questions about PS3 from a complete newbie!?

First up - please be kind! I've never used a games console in my life but I'm thinking of buying a PS3.

    1. Does it matter what memory size you get (eg 180gb or 320gb) in terms of gameplay? Do games play faster on the 320gb or is this just useful for more storage of photos etc?

    2. Can you play more than one game on it? (i.e. switch backwards and forwards each day without losing where you are up to on each of them)?

    3. Can you have multiple players on a game - for example, with the game Skyrim, can two people log on at different times of the day and play different games/characters? Can you store two different game threads at one time or does one person have to finish their entire story before some else can create a new character and start the game?

    4. I've heard some games have glitches - how do you upload patches to fix these on the PS3? Do you go online via the console and download them?

    5. What games do you recommend? I've heard Skyrim is the best - are there any other similar games?

    6. Any recommendations on the cheapest (legal!) place to buy a PS3 in the UK (Asda seems quite cheap)?

    Thanks!

  • Friend wants to go on expensive holiday for birthday... but I can't afford it?

One of my friends is coming up to her 30th birthday and wants a group of us to go on holiday for it. As it's a 'big' birthday she wants to do something really special for it.

The problem is, I'm facing redundancy at work, earn less than her and have a bigger mortgage. I haven't even been on holiday with my husband in over a year so it seems like a big thing to ask.

She said it would be 3 nights at $250 and I felt really guilty and said I would go, thinking that I could just save like mad over the next few months.

Now she has been in touch to say it is 4 nights at $500. And that is just for travel and accommodation - food and drinks will all be on top (plus the 200 mile round trip I will have to do to get to hers in the first instance).

She's a really good friend and, if I saved like mad, I might just be able to find the money, but it has made me think really hard about our friendship and whether she is being reasonable.

Do you think she is being unreasonable and actually really insensitive? Is this too much to ask of a friend given the circumstances? Do you think I should just say no?

Or... do you think that I should, as a close friend, just shut up and save for this holiday?

  • UK employment law: Can new employer ask for sickness record?

I have been unwell recently with work-related stress. I don't feel my company has taken it seriously and the situation at work has not changed to prevent it happening again. As such, I have decided to look for another job but I am concerned that my new potential employers will find out I have been off for four weeks with stress.

    * Can a new employer ask my current employer for details of sick leave?

    * Does my current employer have to tell them?

    * If my new employer asks me, do I have to tell them?

Until now I have had not only an unblemished career, but have been promoted in every company I have worked for. I am worried about trying to change jobs if my sickness record will be held against me, but I no longer want to stay in my current job.

If asked I will be honest, but I want to know whether, legally, the employer can ask.

  • What is your favourite epic novel?

I love House of the Spirits and Love in the Time of Cholera and need some inspiration of other epic novels to read. In particular, are there any UK epic novels you would recommend? (and please feel free to tell me the ones to avoid!)

There are two fonts in the logo:

    1. One used for 'Marshalls'

    2. One used for 'Creating Better Landscapes' (this is the one I'd particularly like to copy as closely as possible

Here is the website for reference (logo on top left of page): http://www.marshalls.co.uk/

I've already tried an online fontfinder with no success. I hope someone can help!

  • I'm thinking of buying wii fit plus... advice needed!?

I've never owned or used any type of games console in my life and I'm thinking of buying a Wii, mainly for the fun fitness stuff. I do other types of exercise but just want some extra bits that are easy and fun to do at home etc.

First up, what do I need to get started? There seem to be loads of different packages and it's all a bit confusing! I'm assuming I need a console (!) but what else (balance board? software?)

Also, I've seen this deal: http://playgamesuk.com/epages/eshop173143.sf/en_GB...

Is this good? Is this cheap? Does it include everything I will need.

    All help will be appreciated!

  • Changes to viewing setting on eBay?

The viewing settings seem to have changed on eBay today - what's going on?

I prefer to view them as thumbnails so that you can see lots of items then hover over to see a large image without clicking on to an item.

How can I get the old setting back?

  • How can I share hi-res photos?

I'm looking for a way to share hi-res photos (preferably for free or very cheaply) online. The resolution on Facebook etc is not high enough as the photos being sent need to be printed on to large canvases.

  • When should I buy Euros for my holiday in September?

The sterling / Euro exchange rate is better than it has been in a while - but will this last?

I'm going on holiday and don't know whether to buy now in case the pound drops in value, or wait and see if the pound strengthens further.

Any thoughts on where the exchange rates may head?

(failing that, I might hedge my bets and buy 50% now and 50% nearer the time!)

The front of one of the drawers in my freezer has come off and I'm wondering what the best glue is to stick it back together with. The drawer is plastic (not sure what type).

  • What accent colour to use with black and white wallpaper?

I've seen this black and white wallpaper in M&S to use as a feature wall in my bedroom. What accent colour do you think will work (on the bedspread, accessories etc)?

I have black bedside lamps and my other walls are painted white.

I'm thinking of a duckegg blue but I'm open to ideas and suggestions!

  • Where can I find a pink nail polish like this?

I've spotted this photo of a gorgeous nail polish online and wondered if anyone had any suggestions (available in the UK) that are not as expensive as MAC:

    http://macluxury.up.seesaa.net/image/DSC00293.JPG

It's quite a pale pink and creamy rather than pearlised.

    Thanks!

  • Do you have a worktop dishwasher and is it any good?

I have eczema which has really flared up since I moved to a home without a dishwasher. I don't mind doing the washing up but no amount of trying different washing up liquids and hypoallergenic gloves helps. So it's time to get a dishwasher!

My kitchen is small so no room for even a slimline dishwasher. Any recommendations on worktop dishwashers - and are they actually any good?

  • Powerpoint: how to view text box borders?

In Powerpoint, when I click off a text box I can no longer see the border. Is there a way to view all the boxes? I don't want it to print off with them visible, just view them while I design the layout.

    Thanks!

  • Can you give me inspiration for feature wall in living room?

I want to brighten up my living room by wallpapering or painting the back wall in a different colour.

The room: Cream carpets, white walls (I want three of them to stay white), bright red sofa, white minimalist furniture, large windows.

My home is modern and fairly minimalist, which is just how I like it, but I need some 'punch' on this one wall.

Any links to suggested wallpapers or paint would be welcome!

    Thanks...
