I don't even wear anything provocative at all. I came home from the mall yesterday with a floral circle skirt and a band muscle tee from F21 (that i bought with my own saved money). I showed them to her and she was like "Fine, whatever." Then today at dinner she was like what're you wearing for your first day of school so I told her the outfit i got yesterday. Then she flipped out and she was like "Oh I don't like that at all what're you wearing under that muscle tee??!!" I was fully intending on wearing a VERY CONSERVATIVE black lace overlay bandeau that covers me from even below the arm hole to my armpit. She gave me this face like i was insane and said that it looked like a bra sticking out which doesn't make sense because it looks exactly like a cami underneath (which she wouldn't freak out about at all). The only reason I'm not wearing anything over that (like a cardigan) is because it's going to be about 95 degrees. Anyway, I'm a sophomore in high school now. I don't want to argue about it with her but I'm really not understanding the logic behind her reasoning? I feel like anyone should be supportive of people's fashion senses because it's an important form of self expression and something that I personally have a passion for. In no way is this particular outfit provocative or "asking for inappropriate attention". I mean the skirt comes down lower than a regular pair of shorts (which she'd let me wear no problem) and I was going to wear sandals or vans. What is this?!

So my hair is naturally curly/wavy. It can get prettttty frizzy, but I hate giving up and straightening it or throwing it up in a gross bun. I really want my hair to grow out longer (right now it's about a half-inch to an inch below my bust) so I'm really trying to avoid heat, including the hair dryer. One thing I absolutely hate is when my natural hair looks amazing only the day I shower, but then the day after it's a tangled, knotty mess. I always end up throwing it in a terrible bun. I hate brushing it out more than anything because it takes forever and my hair just looks frizzy and unhealthy. Is there anything I can do so that my hair will stay nice overnight? Any (relatively cheap) products? Overnight hairstyles? Hair routines that I should try out? Special shampoos and conditioners? Thanks so much!

I got a laptop a few months ago and I want to install my sims 3 expansion packs on my laptop. However, I lost one of the expansion discs (the sims 3 ambitions), but I do have the serial code for it. Is there any way possible that I can install the expansion without the disc?

I'm baking a vanilla cake for my mom's birthday and frosting it with vanilla buttercream. The recipe makes a two-layer cake and I'm not sure what to put in between the layers. I have limited options for filling, so would straight-up raspberry preserves be suitable for a vanilla cake filling? Should I add anything like cornstarch to thicken it, or just leave it alone? I don't have any fresh or frozen raspberries on hand, that's why I wanted to know! Thanks :)

I have a Halloween party this Friday night that my friend invited me to. I already paid, so I'm definitely going! But, I'm still not sure what I should wear. I want to look cute and ya know... attractive (there will be boys! >.<) . I'm only 14 and I think it'd be really embarrassing to have my nipples pop out whenever there's a breeze or if the water is cold!!! I'd wear my other bikini top but the strap broke on it yesterday! In about a week, my grandma and I will be traveling abroad to Paris, France through a roadscholar.org program. It's my first time traveling abroad and I have no idea what to pack! The trip is 9 days long (including arrival date and departing date). I've read through my whole itinerary, but I want something a little more specific. I know that the weather will be similar to weather on the East Coast during the summer, but regarding the places I'm visiting: Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, etc; I need some help picking out clothes that are light, some casual, some formal, some conservative and so on. Also, what other things should I pack in my luggage and carry-on? Any advice on traveling abroad? Please share your past experiences if it helps!!!

Hi!! So earlier today I dropped my iPod touch in some water by accident (maybe like an hour ago). I dried it out as much as I could and continued listening to pandora. A few moments ago, however, the sound automatically rose to a blasting volume (and I was wearing my headphones T_T). I kept turning it down but it kept increasing again!!! I decided to turn my iPod off for a couple of minutes. I turned it back on and now the sound isn't working AT ALL. I tried playing with the sound options but still no sound other than the little "bloop" when I plugged my iPod in to try and charge it. I'm almost positive it was the effects of the water!!! What can I do? Can I repair it myself? Or do I have to take it in to the Apple Store and get it repaired? Thanks soooooo much!!! 10 pts. to the best answer :)

I noticed for the past couple of rain showers that I have a leak in my ceiling DIRECTLY over my bed!!! I told my parents (I'm 13) but they don't seem quite concerned. There is a stain running about 1 foot across the ceiling right above my legs. Right now I have a towel on my bed under the leak and I dab the water away every 10 mins or so, but now I'm ready to fall asleep but I can't with the constant "pitter-patter" of the rain leaking through. Is there anyway I can patch it up temporarily until my parents do something about it? Keep in mind that this only occurs when it rains!!! Thanks so much! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I don't have enough money to buy a quality tinted moisturizer right now and I don't have foundation. Can I mix my liquid concealer and face lotion (olay) or body lotion (jergens) to make a tinted moisturizer? Or would I be better off buying mineral foundation/liquid foundation? I'm 13 years old and I've never gotten my period before. My boobs are sore and sensitive. I've had this pain for about a day and a half. Why do they hurt? Is there anything I can do to numb or make the pain go away?

so i'm in 8th grade and i've been taking shsat classes since june. the classes were once a week every week. i missed 4 classes over the summer because i was on vacation. my most recent practice test grade was a 472. i'm nervous as hell!!!!! my tutor tells me to be positive and breathe and all this other stuff. but, i don't think i could do it... i'm bad with timing. on my practice test i guessed on the last 9 questions in reading comprehension. what should i do? any tips and advice please? do you think i will pass the cutoff?

*** i'm looking to go to si tech because la gaurdia and stuyvesant are just not an option and i won't settle for anything less than si tech (ex. brooklyn tech, brooklyn latin, etc.) i'm anxious and i might be going crazy. the test is in 2 DAYS!!! si tech is a smaller school so the cutoff is high, but lower than la guardia and stuy. (there are A LOT of people taking the shsat for si tech as their 1st choice)
