I'm looking for the origins of the 7 day week. I would like to know of any other methods of making time were a 7day week is not used. (Ancient or current cultures)

They had no mercy on me when I was sick and couldn't pay them. They are snakes and deserve to go under.

I'm not an expert. Can anyone explain why buying failed mortages will restore confidence and loosen the credit crunch? Are there other just as cedible solutions? How serious is this mess?

How is salt understood and what does it sybolise.

If I remember right, it is thrown over the shoulder at weddings. Why? What does that mean?

Why do so many of you (not all) express such hostility towrds those who express a belief in God on YA. Many times you give sarcastic answers to serious questions, so much so that many people preface their questions with 'serious answers only please' and yet many still give glib sarcastic answers that obviously aren't what the asker was looking for.

Really, I want to know why so hostile? Please only answer if you are being sincere in trying to answer.
