  • Did the same people that programmed Yahoo Answers program the Obamacare website?

Because they suck as bad as CGI (Canadian company that wrote the Obamacare website) when it comes to designing websites.

This site is atrocious, not intuitive, things work differently each time you access it. Sometimes categories don't show up, sometimes there's no submit button when you answer a question.

As most of all it just fails and says something like "no more data".

  • Anybody have a gum graft?

Have to have a gum graft on lower front tooth. I did some damage to the gum (don't know how, there was no pain) and the gum did not heal properly. The gum is hanging down a little and some of the tooth root is exposed. It doesn't hurt unless I eat something that is real spicy, then the gum gets irritated.

So if anybody has had it done how was it? Pain, recovery, able to eat afterwards, anything to avoid, etc?

  • Why did Yahoo remove the page indicator and add a Refresh?

You're never sure if you're seeing new questions or the same recycled questions.

Why do they always try to fix something that isn't broke?

  • How to stop dog from eating excrement?

    Anybody have any ideas?

I have a 5 yo female beagle (purebred). I also have my daughters beagle (mix). My dog will eat the other dogs excrement. She has been doing this for awhile now. I try to clean it up from the yard before she can get to it but that's not always possible.

I've tried other methods like the chews that's supposed to make their feces taste terrible. I tried sprinkling hot pepper flakes on the feces on the ground but she will just ignore those to better samples come available. Occasionally she gets sick from it. I guess beagles aren't too smart.

    Nothing seems to work.

I'm getting to the point where I may get a muzzle for her when she goes out in the yard alone.

She eats three meals a day and get exercise daily.

Her food is Iams. She also gets treats.

  • 2000 Maxima trunk release not working?

Cannot open the trunk from the inside drivers door control or the remote but opens fine with the key.

When I press the door control I hear a noise like the cable is releasing the trunk but the trunk door still doesn't open.

Is this something minor or big bucks to repair ?

  • When is the US govt. and BP going to admit this oil leak is much worse than they're saying?

There are numerous reports that the well bore is damaged beneath the sea floor. If this is the case the flow cannot be stopped at the well head and it's only a matter of time before the whole area around the rig deteriorates and the rig crashes through the sea floor opening up more area for the oil to leak through. This is going from bad to worse.

This will be the destruction of the Gulf of Mexico (beautiful area, glad I got to vacation there multiple times). It will take centuries to recover.

    Shame.

  • HVAC Techs - question on Sanyo Inverter?

I have a 11,000 btu Sanyo inverter heat pump that does a fantastic job on our sunroom.

Only problem is when they installed it they put the outside unit directly under the eve and gutter of my house. That really isn't a problem except this winter. There's been an inordinate amount of snow which turns to water runs off the roof and hit the unit. It immediately starts to re-freeze and blanket the unit.

Eventually it covers enough of the unit to reduce it's efficiency to zero.

I'm thinking about building a cover to shield the unit. It would probably be too expensive to move the unit out from under the gutter.

My question - If I built a cover about 6" behind the unit that comes up over the unit allowing about 12" clearance on top and leaving the front completely open would I cause any problems with it's operation?

    Thanks in advance.

  • 2000 Nissan Maxima front CV joint boot question? Nissan Techs please?

Had my car in for some unrelated service and this was brought to my attention. Was told both front boots are worn and leaking lubricant. I was told they cannot replace just the boots but have to replace the twin axles also. They quoted a price of $640.00. Does this sound reasonable, high? Do they have to replace the axles or is it just easier for them.

To date I have not experienced any vibrations or noise. Car drives fine.

    Any suggestions.

  • HVAC technicians - Carrier humidifier filter question?

I have a Carrier Weathermaker infinity gas heater with an attached Carrier humidifier. It's a HUMCCLBP18, the kind that requires no power to run.

It just used the principle of evaporation to work.

My Question - on the replacement filter one end has some white cloth material. I assume this is to soak some of the water that is injected into the humidifier. Does that go at the top or the bottom?

I cannot find any mention of which end in the manual or on-line.

My bet is at the top but I'd like to be sure.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Nissan Techs only !!!!?

Currently own a 2000 Maxima (owner since new) with 111k on odometer.

Apprx. 60k on engine (replaced about 5 yrs) ago along with starter.

Now apprx. once in every 20-25 starts the ignition will falter when I turn the key to start. It starts to turn over, sounds like the starter is engaging then it kinda makes a funny noise and I turn the key back and repeat the procedure. It always will start fine after that and go for awhile before I experience it again.

Battery has been replaced about 10 months ago.

Car has been properly maintained and is not mistreated.

Car is only driven about 200 miles per month.

Starter has been checked and they say it's fine.

Ignition coils replaced about 30k miles ago.

    Any ideas?

Is it the starter, solenoid, ignition switch.

I hate to start replacing things without knowing for sure what's wrong.

Is there anyway Nissan can test the starting system and determine the problem with near 100% accuracy.

  • Who thinks US debt service for FY 2009 of 340 billion is INSANE?

Congressional Budget Office estimates FY 2009 interest on the National Debt to be 340 billion. This is the third largest amount after National Defense and Social Security.

This does not include the amount that will have to be borrowed for ObamaCare which could amount to 120 billion per year.

    How can we substain this?

We are currently paying 1.2 billion per month in interest to China alone. Rest goes to Japan, Middle Eastern countries, etc.

    Thoughts?

  • CR-V Owners - Who thinks the latest generation is a little under-powered?

Not impressed with the CR-V especially when the air-conditioning is running.

It feels like the vehicle is under-powered by about 20 hp.

My feeling is Honda should of sacrificed one or two mpg to give the car a better smoother acceleration curve. It feels like it takes a lot of pedal to move the car.

    Agree? Disagree?

  • How does the media know how many people are watching?

Once a month you see the reports that detail in the 8pm time slot Fox's Bill O'Reilly dominated with viewership of 3.5m where MSNBC and CNN had a paultry 600k and 500k respectively. How do they know this?

I assume that digital cable boxes can tell what a TV is tuned to but what about the people who get their TV from the airwaves, dish, directTV, etc.

How can they post specific numbers or is it just the ones that's are quantifiable and the numbers could be higher?

    Any broadcast specialists out there??

  • Attention Comcast techs! Question on digital cable?

I have a digital TV (Sony) that is connected directly to the cable. Will I still be able to receive cable stations after the conversion to digital in June? I have another TV (Sony also) that is connected to a digital cable box. I don't want to rent another box if I don't have to. The TV connected directly to the cable receives more than enough stations plus selected HD stations.

  • Nissan Techs - Thoughts on engine flush ?

Had my 2000 Maxima in the dealer for some regular maintenance and they were pushing the engine flush. I declined for the time being but everything I read says don't do it.

Have a 2000 Maxima with 110k that has been properly maintained.

Engine was replaced by Nissan at 60k miles due to water damage. Wife sucked some water into the intakes damaging the engine.

Engine was a salvage from a rear end total, had somewhere between 5k - 8k miles on it, they didn't have actual odometer reading.

So actually have somewhere around 60k miles on this engine.

I've heard flushes can loosen debris causing blockage and could also cause oil leaks around the head.

    Any information would be helpful.
