  • How are security clearance acronyms pronounced?

For instance, Confidential and Secret use the entire word, Top Secret is TS, Sensitive Compartmented Information is SCI, but what about NACLC, ANACI, NACI, MBI and such, do you say all the letters or are there words, like JPAS is not J-P-A-S, people say J-Pass. Do people actually say N-A-C-L-C or is there a shorter form like Nack-Click?

  • What is the difference between LEGO Hobbit for Wii U and for Xbox One?

Because of the Wii U's controller, there are usually minor (and some major) differences for the games on the Wii U. I assume because it is a Lego game that the graphics are not going to make much of a difference. I am curious if anyone knows how the Wii U gamepad will come into play. Thanks.

  • How often is there an eclipse in the US?

Because of rotations and such, the eclipses only seem to be visable in certain countries. I've heard anywhere from 2 to 4 lunar eclipses per year, but how many are viewable in the US? How often are solar eclipses viewable in the US?

  • Motion Switch Not Working?

I just bought motion sensor lights and I can't get them to work. The original setup was 3 switches that all controlled 1 light. There are 4 wires coming out of the motion device, green ground, black common/power, white neutral, and red load. The 1st wall switch has a black, white, red, and bare copper, the 3 colored wires were connected to the switch, the copper wire was just in the back. I figured great, match the colors and green to copper... Not so much. So I opened the next switch and it had 2 black, 2 white, 1 red and the copper, the 2 black and the red were connected to the switch, the 2 white wires were connected to each other, and the copper was loose. Then I opened up the last one and there were 2 red, 2 black, and 2 white and the loose copper. The 2 red and 2 black are connected to the switch and the 2 white are connected to each other. Does anyone have any idea how to set this up?

  • How do I find the model on my light post?

I just bought a new house and it has 5 light posts, but one of them is broken (cracked in half and missing one of the 3 lamps). I am trying to find a replacement, but I have no idea how. I can't find the model number or even the brand anywhere on the lamp. I have searched through ebay and home depot and Lowe's without any luck.

The lights were put in a good decade ago so part 2 to this question is if I can't find a replacement, should I just put in something close or should I do a totally different type of light since it will probably look tacky if I can't get an exact replacement.

  • Can I stay in the USMCR with a 10% VA claim?

I was active duty for 4 years, went into the IRR for 2, received an honorable discharge, and then, less than 1 year later, I went back into the USMCR. I have been in the USMCR for 2 years and 4 months. My contract was for 2 years and I am almost half way through my 2nd 6-month extension. I was injured during service and just received a 10% VA disability claim for 2 herniated discs. I can still walk around and do office-type work, but heavy packs, flak jackets, kevlar helmets, running a PFT/CFT... I don't know if that is the healthiest thing for me. Does anyone know what happens at this point?

    Can I stay in?

    Can I get out?

Do I still get my VA pay if I drill?

Do I get med-sep'd or can I just ride out the last 3 months of my contract?

If I get med-sep'd do I still keep my honorable discharge from active duty?

Is it possible to get back in after I get out?

I will probably check with a VA rep, but the hold time seems like forever, plus I have heard different things from different people and that the VA doesn't really know too much when it comes to what a command will do. I don't believe there is a single answer, just looking for anyone that has been in a similar situation or knows someone who has.

    Thanks!

  • I am trying to set up a 120 gallon terrarium for crested geckos and have some questions?

The terrarium is 2ft x 2 ft wide and 4ft tall. It is all glass except for the top which is screen.

    1) Heating - I have 3 thermometers at the top, middle, and bottom of the terrarium. The bottom is always around 68 (Room Temp), The middle is at 70, and the top is 75. I have a 150 Watt Blue day bulb, a 150 watt ceramic bulb, and a 75 watt night bulb. I leave the ceramic on 24 hours and the night and day are on a timer that switches them automatically. I read that they are supposed to be between 72 and 80, but I don't know how to get it up any higher. The lamps are all clamped above the screen because I don't want the geckos to burn themselves if I put them inside the terrarium. Should I add a heating mat?

    2) I have a humidifier that brings the tank from 50% humidity to 80%. Should I leave it on or should I turn it off and on throughout the day?

    3) How many crested geckos can I put in there?

    4) Is there a way to tell the difference between males and females?

    5) I have Eco Earth coconut substrate with 8 liters of moss substrate. Then I put in a large jungle vine surrounded by Extra Silk Amapallo Jungle Plant and a Grapevine Jungle Gym. There is a mesh thing they can crawl on that is on the glass. I also have a food dish about 8 inches from the floor on a mushroom ledge. Is there anything else I should put in there for them?

    6) Can I add live plants? Will that make a difference? What types of plants can handle the 75+ temps and 80% humidity?

    7) How often can I play with them? Is it ok to let them run around the house or play outside?

    Thanks!

  • Amp sub combo - already blown once?

I have a kenwood 8105D 1000 watt max (500 RMS) amp. I went to my local car audio shop and they said that the Rockford Fosgate R2D4 is rated perfect for it. (also happened to be the only dual vc sub that they had in stock) I drove about a block and it blew, I opened the trunk and it was smoking. They were surprised when I came back and lowered all of the settings on my amp. Now I haven't tried to play it too loud because they said the voice coils need to get warmed up. The RF sub is rated at 250 RMS. Will this one end up the same as the last one or is there some conversion that I don't know about that allows 1000 watts peak to not blow a 500 watt peak sub? Thanks!

  • My new 60" DLP TV looks grainy, why is that?

I have a flat screen (not panel) Mitsubishi DLP WD60738. The screen looks very grainy. The tv is clean, just grainy picture, especially with motion. Happens on cable and blu ray. Are all DLPs like this? Do I just have to sit farther away so I don't notice it as much? Thanks.

  • Why do people say that rap music is talentless?

This is more of a rant than a question, so i will make it a survey poll, do you agree or not?

People are always saying that rap music doesn't require any talent, that all they do is talk. That's like saying that rock music doesn't require talent because all the singer does is sing, or scream. There are producers that spend a ton of time working on creating beats with many more insturments than a band uses, and they are part of the creation. Many also use DJ's to add to the effect and help with the live shows.

As for rappers, there are different singing styles. There isn't a rap song out there that someone is just "talking" as the verse or hook of a song. Just like the singing in country is different from pop is different from opera. The flow of a rapper requires talent. Not anyone can just go out and rap.

Anyone that comes on here and says they can rap but think rappers are talentless, please post a link to a youtube of you rapping and see what type of comments you get.

  • Using your bank card as Debit vs Credit, what's the difference? (I do NOT mean using a credit card)?

It used to be when you went to the store they would slide your card and you would sign a receipt. Then they came out with the terminals that you would slide your card and you would sign the receipt. Then they came out with the "push a button for debit or credit" and sign or enter your pin, but it would charge you a fee to use debit.

Now, no matter what you slide it goes to debit. If you want to pay with credit you have to hit cancel, then choose credit, then give 3 pints of blood and sign away your first child.

I have to assume that there is a reason for that, I'm guessing debit is cheaper than credit for the store? What are the differences for the store AND what are the differences for me (or the consumer)?

I will pick a best answer tonight!

    Thanks!

  • Would you rather be rich or famous?

Would you rather be the richest person in the world but have no one know who you are, or the most famous person alive but be totally broke. Note, you can't use your money to become famous and you can't use your fame to get money. You will be broke and famous or rich and unknown for your entire life. Pick one, and feel free to state why!
