Eclectic Pagan of many years. I love a good conversation, good books and good friends.

  • Opinion's from pagan parents please?

My best friend asked my opinion on whether she should be celebrating Ostara (to include the Ostara Bunny) and Yule etc with her young children or if she should be trying to save them trouble in school etc by using the Christian terms. Her husband (agnostic) does not want his family to know his wife is pagan. She is in a real quandary as she feels she is lying to her children by using Christian terms at the holidays.

I don't have any kids myself so might not give the best advice. It seems to me, to save trouble with her husband she should just use the Christian terms and, as her children age educate them about the alternative terms and let them make their own choices.

    What are your thoughts?

  • ethics and rules bank has to adhere to in a short sale in Minnesota?

A good friend has an offer in on a short sale. She put the offer in in late May. Now it's late August and the bank has finally replied - but their reply was that the selling realtor would need to resubmit paper work for the offer as the time line for the offer had expired before the bank looked at it. - This seems shady to me?

  • Pagans: Mortality and your ritual items?

My fellow pagans, over the last few weeks quite a few of my friends have suffered family losses and that has gotten me to thinking. What do you intend to do with your personal altar tools upon your passing? Will you bequeath them to friends and family? Do you not care in the least? Do you plan to be buried with some or all of them?

  • I am looking to buy a good telescope?

Saturn will be in opposition on the 15th and this event has me wanting to take the plunge and buy a good telescope to be able to see Saturn, its rings and some of its moons. I know next to nothing about telescopes though so, when researching to buy one, what are the specifications I need to keep in mind in order to be able to see Saturn to the level I want to on the 15th?

  • One of life's truly great mysteries?

So, the prevailing wind in the United States blows from the west to the east why is it that dandelions which propagate by floating their seeds on the wind keep appearing year after year? You’d think that each year the furthest west dandelion would be a little further east every year till eventually they’d all be gone cuz the seeds would blow out over the Atlantic ocean?

  • Okay, what the heck is going on with me?

I just finished eating lunch and now have pain in my stomach which I feel radiating out and like up my spine. Almost feels like a burning sensation. I can feel it making me more and more tense as it continues. The same thing happened after dinner last night. Breakfast this morning did not bother me though. Is this what an ulcer feels like?

  • To the Wiccans, witches and pagans out there?

How do you keep your patience and keep answering the same question over and over again from people who "want to be Wiccan so that they too can cast neat spells as seen on tv"?

  • Happy Lughnasadh! How will you Celebrate?

Merry meet my fellow Pagans, what did you do or will you be doing to celebrate Lugh's games? My coven got together on Saturday for a rite and some games to test strength and skill and of course a feast in celebration of the first harvest. Today though the actual day we're getting some excellent, strong thunderstorms. I love the chaotic energy of a good storm :)

  • Post apocalyptic work of fiction involving an Wiccan coven?

I was at a pagan gathering recently helping to facilitate an archery class there. One of the people present commented that the gathering and the archery reminded him of a book he'd read recently about a woman who sees her coven safely through an apocalyptic event and how they help to rebuild/reshape society afterward. Would anyone happen to know the title of that book, I'd like to read it.
