Proud wife, and proud mother to four: two sons, two daughters. Trying to get that ever elusive degree. Am the product of DOD family and married the same. I trumpet the cause of rational thinking, and am an advocate of respectful dialog.

Have we come to the point in America where we have to pay people to do what is right?
I would find this offer insulting, myself.
For some, it may work as that leg up they may require . . . I just don't know. It almost fits the "teach a man to fish" mold, but seems like the program is swooping in to instill values that people should already have. BUT, the funding looks private, so I don't really object to that. . . .
Wondering what you guys think . . .

I really enjoyed reading this article. It amazes me how some are changed by the experience.
Have you had a NDE? Did it change your life? Your belief in God/or not?

I heard this on the news yesterday and am amazed that nobody here is addressing this issue.
The upside is that the 9th circuit is the most overturned court in the land.
This has got to stop.
I don't care if you're gay . . . why should you be offended that I'm not?
This is not an issue about Religion. This is a issue of ridiculousness!

My mom is retired Army so she tops my list! Esp when she served when few thought women worthy.
My father and father-in-law both served: Army and Air Force respectively.
My baby sister just joined the Army and is at Basic right now.
A myriad of my family: Aunts, Uncles, Cousins all serve . . .
Then there's my Grandfather, who has always been my hero! He saw more than one war. He served in both the Navy and Army. And as a Pastor, he continued to serve the human race.
He talked a lot of the Red Bikini's: http://www.170thahc.org/

And what do you think the "lesson" was they were supposed to learn?
"CHICAGO — A girl and her grandparents have sued the Chicago Board of Education, alleging that a substitute teacher showed the R-rated film "Brokeback Mountain" in class.
The lawsuit claims that Jessica Turner, 12, suffered psychological distress after viewing the movie in her 8th grade class at Ashburn Community Elementary School last year.
The substitute asked a student to shut the classroom door at the West Side school, saying: "What happens in Ms. Buford's class stays in Ms. Buford's class," according to the lawsuit."
