  • I need some southern mom fashion tips?

Hi I ve been a stay at home mom for a while now I think I own more pajamas then normal clothing. On top of the fact I grew up as a tomboy I never really got into makeup and fashion. My son is starting grade school now and I am starting a new job now that he will be in school during the day. Anyways Since I have been out of the house more often lately I feel like I look like a hot mess everywhere I go. All the other moms I see look so well put together. We moved to the south (bible belt) and the style down here is very different from where we are from. I see a lot of women wearing Lula lemon type clothing which I find very pretty but where I am from women favored black white and neutral colors. I m afraid if I try attempted picking out a bright outfit that I would make an absolute fool out of myself. Also my hair down here is unmanagably frizzy. My hair is thick and slightly wavy but I never had issues with it in the north but its always frizzy now. I can put leave in conditioner on it straighten it then go outside for 10 minutes and I look like a pomerianion. Nothing I have tried has worked and I m just tired of looking like some shabby frizzy frump where ever I go

  • Issues with husbands friend Help!?

A year my husband brought up that he was going to let his friend move into our house to help get him out of his situation. (We had moved across country). I very strongly objected to this. We had just bought our first house and I was pregnant with our second child. His friend was on our phone plan once because he was in another bad bind, he used all of our data bought a bunch of ringtones and never paid his section of the bill. I was reluctant in having to deal with this in a living situation. Eventually I caved and 6 months later he moved in. I gave up my daughters new nursery I had just finished so he could have a room. Prior to his move we set down ground rules that he had to pay 280 a month for rent to cover the food and utilities he used while he was here. It has been 6 months since he has been here he has paid nothing and I have lost all respect for him. He has negative comments about the food we buy. How we cook it. Every time me and my husband have a conversation where our opinions differ he instantly sides with my husband and starts arguing with me (he does get yelled at for that). And the thing that makes me the most upset is watching him use my husband generosity so he doesn't have to pay for food or a place to live. I have known both my husband and his friend for about 15 years now he is always playing the victim and my husband is always trying to be a good guy by helping him out. I just don't know what to do. I'm sick of this giant man child squating in my house.

  • How do I handle my husbands family?

2yrs ago now my husband convinced me to move down south where he is originally from. Ever since we have been here I hate it. I don t like the culture or the racial divide. The older population is lovely but I haven t found anyone in our age range that I enjoy being around. The worst part of this situation is that I cannot stand his family. They are very different from me. I enjoy learning, deep conversation, art, literature, world travel, healthy eating, green living, etc. All of which are very low on there spectrum of importance. I really don t enjoy the way his cousins raise their children (who are the same age as my son). They live off the system and their idea of parenting is spanking and screaming at their kids at the top of their lungs. The kids are always bad behaved but I don t blame them for it. They have no polite social skills and always fight with my son. One of them actually bit him last Christmas and everyone brushed it off like it happens all the time. I am still floored my husband is related to these people. He is so intelligent, polite and just so well rounded. I just don t know what to do. My husband doesn t want to move so I have been grinning and bearing for 2yrs. But I m just lost. I dread holidays and birthdays and all the family events I used to love because I know I m going to be forced to be around his family in one of their dirty animal infested homes full of people screaming at barking dogs and untamed children.

  • SEX? Please explain!?

OK I have been frequenting the yahoo answers site for a few days now and I am starting to get concerned for the youth at this point. I don't know how many questions I have seen asked by teenaged kids about sex, and their complete lack of knowledge in that area. I'm 23 married female with a 1 year old and this is my question. It to both kids and adults. Where are you learning about sex. Do they even teach it in school anymore. Are you as parents teaching your kids about sex? I mean if they aren't learning it from you and they are not learning it from school what are they left with? Social media? Their friends? I mean if they are learning on there own just imagine all of the false information and bad decisions based on that info? And to teens why do you feel you need to have sex? Are your parents talking to you about it. Do you wish they would?
