How is the cost of living, people, taxes, schools, jobs, etc.?

They were headed southeast. Could they be avoiding the cold?

He was frustrated in Science class and just got up out of his seat and ran out of the school. A maintenance person, principal, and the police had to catch him. According to the school, he does not seem remorseful and none of the discussed punishments seem to effect him. He simply doesn't care and is quite stubborn. Any suggestions for punishment? I've taken away TV and compter, but not so effective. (I'm not into hitting, or physical punishments).

My 10 year-old son doesn't want to do ANYTHING. He complains that he feels lonely and has a hard time interacting w/ other children. He is an only child and loves watching TV and playing w/ computer. He has quit every single sport and activity that he's ever joined. I tried forcing him, but that doesn't work. I give him advice, but he doesn't take it. I've limited the time he spends on the computer, but he never wants to go outside or try new things.

I work at a fortune 50 company with a very good environmental record. However, it could be so much better. We waste so much and I cannot even influence them to stop using styrofoam in the cafeterias. I even suggested to use a tampon that our company manufactures in the bathroom b/c there is less waste associated with it, and the idea was shot down b/c some women might feel funny using a tampon with no applicator! I guess my question is, how do we influence a culture that is so used to disposable everything and could not give a rat's *ss about saving the environment or helping anyone less fortunate? When I do my schpill in new hire training about consuming less, ppl laugh b/c they want their stupid hummer and whatever the American Dream is these days. Any thoughts?

I have a decent job as an Environ Eng. I've been in the field for 10 years, and in my current role for alomst 4 years. The pay is good, but I cannot handle the politics and the company is becoming whacky and unethical. I don't want to be a teacher (I have a BS in Environ Mgnt/ Engineering Tech) and I have no idea what else I can do. Any suggestions? I'm so burned out.
