Can I use a cordless phone as an intercom?
I do not want to hook the phone up to service but just use them as an intercom from upstairs kids bedrooms to the basement master bedroom. Is that possible or do you need to be plugged into a phone line?
Thanks!
1 AnswerLand Phones9 years agoShould I file a police report?
I woke up this morning to find my bank account empty and a charge for almost $400 to a hotel in another state. I called the hotel and found out that it is my ex boyfriend that is checked in there.
They have agreed to void the charges which will take 3-4 business days to post back into my account (next thursday at the latest) I also canceled my debit card that was used and will not receive another for 7-10 business days..with bills to pay and life to live this is really a huge pain not to be able to access MY money.
This ex is pretty slimy and I can totally see him stealing from me but here is the catch, about a year ago I helped the ex out by booking a room in this same hotel and they may have kept my debit card info on file. So was it his intention to steal my money? His responsibility to make sure he was using his own card? Or is the hotel to blame for charging the wrong card or not being more thorough when accepting payment?
Should I file a police report against the ex for theft even though the hotel voided the transaction?
2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoHow to Get Stains out of kid clothes?
I have a very messy 8 year old son. Every shirt he wears is instantly covered in dirt and food stains. I wash promptly, use a color safe bleach laundry additive that is supposed to help with stains and often pre soak his clothes with stain remover. So far nothing works :( Any suggestions?
Thanks!

4 AnswersMovies1 decade agoWas my Blackberry hijacked?
Without my knowledge or permission a co-worker linked my blackberry to her phone using my bluetooth connection. I have no idea why or what that does. What information could she have gotten from me? Could she use/ steal my service that way? Did she view my text msgs or emails? Why would someone do that?
Thanks!
1 AnswerPDAs & Handhelds1 decade agoearwigs are invading my paper mache project! Help!?
I am building a super cool paper mache tree for my sons bedroom. The tree is about 4 feet tall and going to hang in the corner of his loft bed to give the feel of sleeping in a treehouse :) Just checked on it while drying in the garage and discovered HUNDREDS of earwigs feasting upon it! AAARRGG! Yuck! Dont want to spray it with chemicals but also dont want to infest my sons room and bed with these bugs either :( Any ideas on how to salvage my project? Thanks!
2 AnswersSculpture1 decade agobest way to create a cheap privacy fence?
I just moved into a new house with a large yard. Only problem is that a busy street runs along side of the back yard. Currently there is a 3' chain link fence. Replacement with a 6' wood privacy fence seems awfully expensive for a rental so I was looking for ways to use the existing fence to create privacy... with slats or something. Wondering how simple it is to extend the chain link up another 3' ie do I need to replace the posts etc.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks!
7 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoDo you work in a public school?
my dream job would be to work in an elementary school to be on the same schedule with my own kids. Perhaps as office staff but open to any other ideas! Does anyone know what it takes as far as education and background to get such a job?
Thanks!
6 AnswersTeaching1 decade agoBunk bed safety question?
My 7 year old sleeps on the top bunk of a tall bunk bed at Dad's house, his little sister sleeps on the bottom. He has been bugging Dad for more space, he really wants his own room, being unable to accommodate such a request his Dad has instead hung a tapestry as a curtain around the top bunk to give my son more of a private space.
We are in total disagreement about the safety of this tapestry.
What do you think?
5 AnswersParenting1 decade agoneed help planning my sons 7th Birthday!?
My son would like to celebrate his birthday at the movie theater watching the new Disney Earth movie. Due to the high ticket prices I have estimated I can only afford to invite 6 of his friends plus kid popcorn's and drinks. The time has come to send out the invites and I am having trouble!! First I am unsure how to politely state that parents and siblings are welcome to join us but need to purchase there own tickets and the theater cant list show times more than a week in advance! This particular theater has a little cafe area they said I can use for serving cake I can bring but unsure if I should plan to serve before or after the film? They also have a small arcade area so one idea is to show up an hour/hr and 1/2 early, have cake and play games to show time.
Has anyone else out there had a movie themed birthday and had to deal with these problems?
Thanks :)
4 AnswersGrade-Schooler1 decade agoHow can I raise my credit score?
My score is 694. I have a couple low limit credit cards with out too much debt on them ( about $500 combined) and a high interest car loan and no negative items on my report :)
Will it help or hurt my score to pay off all my credit card debt in full?
What else can I do?

4 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade agoTo change my sons school or not?
My son is in the first grade at a public k-8 school. There are some aspects I have not been thrilled with. The size for one, not only k-8 but the high school is on the same campus. The school setting and playground seem to cater to the older kids. And they pushed reading so hard in kindergarten my son not only fell behind but became very discouraged and felt "stupid"(his words). He is doing much better this year. Almost all caught up in the reading dept. has lots of friends and seems comfortable in his school.
The problem is now is the time to open enroll him if I choose to do so.
I am looking at a public k-5 art focus school that is waldorf based.
Cant decide if it would be more detrimental or helpful to switch him for grades 2-5? Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!

My son is 6 and in the 1st grade. He is struggling with reading. He is getting extra help at school and at home but as an added fun activity I have started writing notes on his snack bags(zip lock type) It has to be fairly easy to read. So far I have written "Your Mummy Loves You" with a picture and "Who,Who is the best kid? You, You" w/ a drawing of an owl of course! Anyone have any other clever ideas for me?
