a farmer decides to fence in a rectangular field. if north-south fencing costs $3/yard and east-west fencing costs $2/yard, what are the dimensions of the field of maximum area that can be fenced in for $600?

I can't figure out how to set up a function and constraints for maximum area that includes a variable cost. Please help. Thank you!

Hi there. Today I purchased the EZ Cut Die Cutting machine, the larger sized one, and I followed the instructions to make my first cut. I placed the "A" pad on the machine, followed by the cutting die, then the paper, then pad "C". I rolled it through and when I took it out, the cut was fine but it has left cut marks on pad "C". Is this meant to happen? I checked and re checked but the instructions do not tell you to add anything else before inserting the bundle into the cutting machine. Thanks alot.

Hi all - I'm using Lameboy to emulate Pokemon Yellow on my DS. If I got another game to work on the emulator like Pokemon Sapphire, how could I transfer my pokemon? would I need a second DS? Do I need a cable? I'm confused!

Hi - I'm from Australia and doing a USA trip in a few months - I want to travel from Flagstaff, Arizona to San Diego - with a changeover in Los Angeles. For the Flagstaff - Los Angeles leg we will be on a sleeper and our luggage will be checked.

However, the Los Angeles - San Diego leg does NOT offer checked baggage, only carry on. What am I going to do about my luggage? will Amtrak let me bring my luggage on board? I don't think it fits into their carry on luggage specifications:

Size Limit: Each carry-on bag may not exceed 28x22x14 inches in size.

Any ideas? thanks!

the smaller the better - do people prefer Eee PC, Dell mini or any of the others? I want small, light, portable, functions well on XP and has good battery life. It doesn't have to be high-performance. With a card reader is preferable. Just for browsing the internet and doing some note-taking mostly.

hi - what games are my pokemon yellow pokemon compatible with? is there any roundabout way to have them on the newer versions of pokemon?

i did have two goggle eyed fish in there but they didn't survive. the tank is warm, about 25 degrees celcius, what other fish would be happy there? it's a 40L tank with a heater and filter.

hi - i have a new, fluffy down sleeping bag which is not really washable so I want to use a liner on the inside. It's rated to below freezing temperatures. I go on a yearly navigation event in winter, and we camp in conditions where it gets to below freezing, down to minus 5 degrees celcius. I currently have a fleece throw that I use to wrap around myself on the inside. Silk liners sound nice but they are upwards of $45, and that's when they are on special. Is there any good reason why a silk liner would be a better option? if they are, I'd be happy to fork out. Thanks :)

I know that permanent damage to your hearing occurs when you are exposed to loud noise over a long period of time (industrial noise, loud music players in your ear etc) but what about something like.. someone talking in your ear at a party? i was at a party last night, and there were many people in a small area so you had to get close to someone to talk to them. My ear hurt when someone spoke to me (like right in my ear), i'm wondering if something like that could cause hearing loss or whether it would have to be exposure over a longer period of time?

I've been told by my dentist, due to a jaw tension problem, that I need to start sleeping on my back. I've been very unsuccessful so far. I'm used to sleeping in on my stomach, with my head twisted, and it's causing me a number of problems. I've tried lying on my back with a flat pillow and a pillow under my knees, and even pillows on either side of my body to stop me rolling over in my sleep, but I just cannot sleep, even after hours and I end up giving up and rolling over at 4am.

I may be mistaken, and please let me know if I am, but I was under the impression that Genesis says something along these lines:

That God's Earth, and creatures of God, are man's responsibility and we must look after them.

Why therefore, do alot of Christians that I know, not regard these things as important? Some do not make an effort to look after the environment, they do not see volunteer or charity work as important and they do not consider animal welfare as particularly important, and some seem to live very material existences. Can someone tell me, are these things, as dictated in Genesis, not an important part of being Christian?

Just as important, if not moreso, than going to church or not having pre-marital sex or reading your bible every day?

I'm hoping to volunteer overseas next year doing community/aid work, but alot of the programs require basic or intermediate Spanish. So i have about nine months to learn the language. Nighttime classes won't fit in with my work schedule, but I am looking at audio CD and textbook type programs...are these useless, or can you learn Spanish this way?

Does it cost anything just to have one? Are there any fees associated with them, other than just the cost of the tolls?
